  • a good rapper is method man/grand puba just to name a few most uk hip hop sounds the same wether it be terrafirma klash jesht yungun braintax its so dull and depressing and uk hip hop is going commercial now anyway dizee is proof boy in da corner was a sick album hes soldout not as bad as dre eminem but i have no respect 4 him anyway

  • @dom123435 how does Jehst sound like Klash? so what makes meth good and not jehst then ?

  • @oO1B3NNY1Oo meth is a legend of hip hop just his freestyles are way better than any uk written stuff i cant remember what album i heard but it sounded the same as focus mdoe his lyrics are far more inventive his flows much better there are no uk rappers up to the standard of usa hip hop not the good stuff anyway jehst aint shit but hes a long way behind meth etc skinnyman is probz the most talented with his lyrics from the uk

  • @dom123435 hrhrhrhr you fail daily

  • @dom123435 lol just coz some ones a legend doesnt make them better. Meth has a better flow and you can prefer him. But i dont know what you've on about far more inventive lyrics haha i used to listen to aa bitta meth but i can relate to Jehst far more. you seem like a kid whos just found hip-hop but much prefers US for some reason...an just for the record in my opinion skinnyman is awful

  • @oO1B3NNY1Oo yeah skinnyman sucks haha

  • @HomieGeeSkittle ?????!!!!!!! what Skinnymans a UK legend

  • @HomieGeeSkittle ya mom sucks cock haha

  • @oO1B3NNY1Oo first off im not a kid and ive not just found hip hop my fav era is probz 90-93 the true greats like fu-schinkens/lords of the underground/grand puba and what can u relate to from jehsts music eminems first album is music u can relate to if you have had a life with major low points in any 1 song from meth-red album blackout has far more skilled lyrics and better flow than anythink a uk rapper has managed uk hip hop will always be behind american hip hop

  • did he produce this???

  • @Asunakamrbelize Evil Ed does, Jehst name checks him in the first second

  • Fuckin' awesome ! Poland knows good music.

  • jehst is hardly a good rapper im from the uk and uk rap is shit i do agree that lil wayne is shit and deserves no praise or to be called a rapper

  • @dom123435 are you nuts ? if Jehst isn't a good rapper then who is ?

  • i've just smoked some Hawaiian Snow and this tune is on repeat!!!! ♥

  • i agree wiv @lkinop but eminem is different he nearly o.d'd didnt he? n he dont take drugs no more so he cant rap about that shit. but yer jehst dont get half the recognition he deserve!!! its da same wiv most rappers tho...check out ramson badbonez if u aint heard him...also mystro..........hip hops stil out there guys u jus gota find it! lol

  • "I exist in a state of consistent transition,

    Plans shiftin',

    with insufficient ambition,

    Man listen,

    This is my advice,

Die or fight, get caged in,

    or take flight"

  • @widevr we all heard it

  • @cheesyballs thanks for clarifying that - I like how you speak for everybody.

  • @widevr sorry for listening to the music with my speakers turned up................i just like to listen to it...like most people

  • @cheesyballs Nothing wrong with that, I just don't understand the prick-ish remark in response to my comment, uncalled for - from my perspective.

I dont know if you are having a shitty day or whatever, I have them too, but I don't start actin like a dick on the internet to compensate for it... If you like to listen to your music, (like all the viewers and commenters on this video, including myself) and dont like to read, the answer is simple, STFU and listen.

    Being a dick solves nothing.

  • @widevr and neither does calling someone a dick.......... :)

  • @cheesyballs Unfortunately in this case it does, it's called constructive critism. I wouldn't expect you to know much about that, trolling the youtube comments section at 30 years of age....... :)

  • @widevr riiiiiiiiiiight ofcourse im 30, shouldve gone for something higher surely 40, 50 even

  • maan, im new at this.

and i believe this will be big.

    enlightment.

    enlighted.

  • thats long i just leave shit in the rubbish

  • I've got the EP on vinyl. Wanna buy it?

  • If you like these lyrics check out Bliss N Eso!!

  • could you re upload, for better quality

  • @Andohhh Can YOU even find a legit mp3 period?

  • This Is Art.

  • Can anyone tell me if this is on any of his albums or ep's?

  • @FanTasTicVol1 it's on an ep by evil ed, called the tournment round one, can't find it anywhere ): if only this video was not cut short I could just use youtube ripper

  • FONZIFREE DOES BEATS????

  • guy is sick

  • fuckkkkkkk me this tune is dank

  • Jehst is the shit, i wish more rappers would rap about real shit like he does. If you like him you should check out aesop rock.

  • Timeless Classic.

  • For some reason i only just clocked the roots manuva sample in their

  • He grew up in Crowborough (Kent) then moved to huddersfield which spawned the many Assaviour colabs

then moved to London ..... probably the best Lyricist ever !

  • where not afta his history about moving to where ever, enjoy his music thats what your here to do...

  • Damn what album/CD is this on?

  • jjehst was on another planet when he wrote this. suppose this beat could take you there.

  • fucking hell this is such a tune, and will never get tired

  • Big Up Jehst.

  • favourite opening bar to a ukhh tune ever..

  • this is something special!

  • Stupid youtube glitches, obv i didnt mean to have that comment appear 1000 times...lol...

  • Lol it's fine. Anyway hopefully your right, Wayne will become just another Vanilla Ice or MC Hammer.

  • It's depressing knowing that when my life ends, rappers like Lil Wayne will be regarded as legends and the name Jehst will remain almost completely unrecognised. It's also sad that mainstream fans will never experience the mental and spiritual stimulation that Jehst's lyrics offer. We are a lucky few I suppose.

  • @lkinop I know yeah, its sad, all that we can do is spread the word and hope people listen

  • @lkinop such is life. however in this day and age the power of the internet breaks down all walls. i'd only come across jehst via internet actions and finding dj mk's above board. i personally feel happy that i've heard so much great independent music that if this was 20 years ago i would not.

  • @lkinop... u noe it famm...ratings to jehst...mad tings

  • @lkinop TRUE

  • @lkinop my heroes will not be unsung.

  • @lkinop I prefer it for them to not be huge. Don't get me wrong, I wish more success to Jehst and the like, but I would rather them stay out of the mainstream. As soon as people hit the mainstream their sound has to change to fit the expectations of the media and the idiots buying chart music. Eminem is a classic example. Look how much his style has changed since making it big, and it isn't a good change!

If people really cared about this genre they will already know about Jehst :)

  • @shootacop2kill If Jehst got signed by a major and charted it would be on his terms, he wouldnt comprise his music (going of what I have heard on his tracks for over 10 years)

  • @shootacop2kill 'look how eminem has changed since making it big'. thats a terrible example. eminem was big as soon has he drop his first album (not including infinate of course). so how could he of changed when making it big. someone like dizze has changed since making it big. eminem has change constantly through out his carrer.

  • @graffityartist1 dizzee doesn't even deliver the goods anymore :L so wtf are you on about you clown

  • @mrdanni Err thats my point ur moron! Dizzee used to 'deliver the goods' but doesnt any more. My exact point So wtf are you on about!!!

  • @shootacop2kill

omfg finally someone who shares the same views as myself

  • Its good like that cuz being mainstream can kill a person. Jehst being predominately recognised underground means that only a true few are able truely appreciate the music, and theres a good chance the general public wouldnt even click to what he spits as it is. His lyrics are hell creative and deep which is something most of the public cant relate to. Being unkown keeps the magic>

  • ^^^ So true..He is a true legend in his own right.

I cant get my head around the pure talent that jehst posesses.

He is too creative and his imagination is toooo much for the general public to even consider!

  • @lkinop it´s so sad that you´re so true...

  • @lkinop sad but true

  • @lkinop here here!!!

  • @lkinop 92 people on your comment like real hip hop

  • @lkinop fuckin love this comment....tbh if they are to intertwined in thier shit music mabye we should let them.....lol then its more for us... lol intelligence over money anyday

  • @lkinop couldn't agree more!

  • @lkinop My words to you are let the normal miss out, jehst and other uk rappers are the best kept secret. we are the lucky few as you stated.

  • @lkinop the normal are incapable of such lyrics anyway, only the smart can comprehend jehst and his lyrics

  • @lkinop WERD BROTHER!

  • @lkinop totally agree with you man. Wise words.

  • Nice bit of Manuva in there.

  • Beautiful.

  • because of this song I now have two favorite quotes:

"the way we're livin day to day stays monotonous"

"to be or not to be: a simple lesson in risk"

I love how his lyrics just linger with you after the song is over. He's a true genius and I'm mad I didn't know about him sooner.

  • this is one of my favourite tunes ever.. never gets enough praise jehst. this is one of thes best examples of Hip hop never mind UK hip hop.. so profound.

"but your blinded by the wool pulled over your eyes by oversized flies, who feed of the waste, take the icing on the cake and leave without a trace"

  • @Gynbobman amen to that bredren

  • 100% agree, one of the best tracks ive ever heard

  • complete hands down classssssic

  • I'm to high . Far to fly to stay stationary.

Basically i keep in constructive like masonry.

    haha..i like it

  • yeah this shit is slammin..respect.

  • Brilliant!

  • playing poker on full tilt and you tubeing jehst tracks that iv never heard, awsome

  • GRIMEY

  • city of industry for all you fellow northerners! check it!

  • Simply magnificent...

One of Jehst's best tunes and one of the best hip hop tunes ever made! Evil Ed brings such a pure beat that does enuf to complement Jehst with it's jazzy undertones...and Jehst's lyrics?!!!!! Just amazing! Found this on vinyl the other day on discogs and managed to snap it up!!!

  • props dude...respect u for that not alot of americans can swallow their pride and dig rappers from across the pond!

  • @bigbezo420 he's from England (Huddersfield/ Leeds area) now residing in London...and yeh he's better than most us mc's...nowadays at least...

  • @bigbezo420 he's from yorkshire pal, ee by gum an all that jazz.. google EMMERDALE to give yourself some idea of his background

  • @mista13er he aint from fukin yorkshire he is from north london

  • @yelrub ....nope... do your research he moved to london but he's FROM halifax or somewhere near there.

  • @mista13er ok he might of been born up north somewhere, but he is reppin and will say that he is from north london

  • @yelrub "i rep streets where ever they play my shit."

  • @yelrub hes from huddersfield originally then he moved to hackney..real talk

  • @bigbezo420 i think hes from london m8, i listen to alot of american hip-hop and you are right this is 98 percent better than ANY other hip-hop, its poetry not rap

  • @bigbezo420 he is from north london, and yeah he is sooooo sick!! im glad u like him.

  • @bigbezo420 amen

  • london u.k...

  • @bigbezo420 englsh born english bred

  • his beats are unreal

  • evil ed beat.. i ahve the instrumental on my page

  • one of his best i reckon...

  • deffo

  • this song is good, everybody that doesnt think so should suck a fat

  • Do you know that is a fucking dumb thing to say?

Its idiots like you that is wrong with this world.

  • how about you tonsil my knob.

  • Rootival Manuva

  • bigbezo420: I bet he has several accounts, he goes into youtube deliberately to piss people off as. I bet this is his way on de-stressin. I just got that feeling, lol

  • falling down is his new stuff and his BEST!! every tune is abnger....fallling down, china shop taurus, intro(liquor soaked sentiments, i cbf to name the whole ablum but every tune on it isa banger

  • WHAT MIXTAPE/ALBUM IS DIS???

  • If anyone knew the answer to this question, the world would be a better place.

  • jehsts best tunes

    .

    1)pepperspray 2)indapendant 3)alien 4)run hard 5)1979 6)citizen smif.

  • nah man

  • what do you mean nah man

  • i mean nah to dem tune u listed as being his best work

  • but they are. tho. he does have other good tracks, but those were just my favorites lol

  • u didnt say dey were ur favourites u said dey were his best tunes 2 absoulty different things

  • yea, to ME there his best tunes. god i thought u would of caught on by now.

  • jehst is a don, deeep tune!

  • if you think these lyrics are deep.... listen to 'Staircase to Stage'.... the best Jehst tune in my opinion

  • Personal opinion:

I think 'Alien' is more an explanation of himself...who he really is...

whereas 'Staircase to Stage' is deep, it's more so about the hip hop scene.

Both great, and uncomparable, because all of Jehst's stuff is pure gold.

  • Ur right bro... both are great tunes but my personal favourite is 'High Plains Anthem'... as u say though, its difficult to compare them! Change my mind a lot about which is my favourite

  • Also... Independant is one of his best

  • i wouldnt say all, his newer stuff is disappointing but his old stuff is simply genius

  • fair call...there is some of his stuff that is a bit out there.

What is considered his newer stuff? I've only really just started being into Jehst's stuff, although I've listened to 1979 for the last few years not knowing who it was.

Most of the stuff I like is either from Premonitions EP and The High Plain Drifter?? i think

  • nuke proof suit is an example of his new stuff

  • nuke proof suit is shit compared to this

  • im so happy when i listen to jehst its like so ill!! man j star b holdin tings down!! from way bak i love this guy man!!! jheez jehst has gt me trhu some tough times..

  • you cnt count calculate my longitude or latitude or reach my altitude im too highh

  • "with the weight of the world on top of us we still stand ground"

"make use of your imagination in the pursuit of expression"

I think lyrically Jehst is the best rapper in UK hands down

  • muchh love from Chicago.

  • in the world

  • the beat has been released.

its an Evil Ed beat. should be on one of his cds.

  • yh i have it on my channel
