  • too stupid

  • And please don't get me wrong, but when I watch some old movies/cartoons, I often do enjoy them (Alf, Disney cartoons, old style pirate movies...) but this is just creepy and horrible. Sorry :/

  • @Boblinbrownsuggar616 Well, looking at what shit the old generations could watch... I mean you can choose betweem this and the Walt Disney cartoons or anything else, but who can watch THIS ?! Btw, your generation just screwed everything up with 2 great financial crises, some wars here and there and maybe, if you're quite old, cold war. You're a great generation ;)

  • Thus is fukin creepy as fuk..

  • I didn't think Aslan could fly O.o

  • Brilliant thankyou for the upload,it's brought great memories back!! Today's kids have no idea of agreat childrens programme..wish I was young again..

  • Sure her acting is fine in BBC, but Disney did pick a more adorbs girl for Lucy

  • Lucy this entire series :B ...

  • OLOL

  • aslan is so fake and lucy wierd

  • They really should have hired a human actress to play Lucy instead of just shaving an ape.

  • I guess the comments here indicate a sign of the times and a lack of appreciation for quality. I shudder to think what would happen if teenage girls selected this years' Oscars. Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner duking it out for Best Actor? Girls aren't alone in this. A girl in a bikini and gross out humour is the sign of a good evening. That actress who plays Lucy here is perfect for the role. I'm sorry to those with high metabolisms, but we're not all model material. Help me out here, CS.

  • ok, i have to ask: what the hell good are GHOSTS in a damn battle?

  • I recently did a play of the lww and I played susan (my costume was very much like hers!) we did a very epic song and dance after aslan was resurected, it was called the lion leaps!!! it was fantastic!! i looked @ this scene for some inspiration on how to do this scene :) good version x

  • I would recommend these movies to the guys from Rifftracks. I bet they'd come up with some side-splitting commentary!

  • Um, could we stop fighting about the actors and new vs. old? They're different, and both are good in their own way.

  • thanks for uploading this but i don't care for this one

  • i dont know how any one can say this is better then the newer one .

  • WE CRIED OUR HEADS OFF

  • is it just me or is aslan soo cute when he roars. and he just looks so huggable and squishy and fuzzy! <3 <3 <3

  • Wait a minute... at 07:48, in the background... I s that Gorn from the worst battle scene ever? From ''Star Trek''?

  • "ASLAN!!! Your not dead Aslan!!"

I wish aslan went, "well... duh!"

  • Alrite someone please explain to me why she turns her own ghoul into stone at 8:08. I've never understood that since I was a kid. Is it explained in the book or something?

  • @pucpimp Because she wanted everyone silent and the ghoul was making noise -- so she silenced it. Just goes to show how cruel and unforgiving the Witch is. Truly a devil-figure. Much more than Tash, in my opinion.

  • @PheonixRise173

is there pictures of tash or a movie with it in it?

  • @FantasyGirl1200 A google search for Tash Narnia should do the trick. He's basically a bipedal four armed birdlike creature. Tash is mentioned in the book The Horse and His Boy and makes two appearances in The Last Battle; once viewed from afar and the second being present at Stable Hill before he is banished by High King Peter to "go to his own country."

  • Okay, I'm popping 2005 Narnia into the DVD player and seeing Georgie Henley Skandar Keynes William Moseley Anna Popplewell Liam Neeson Tilda Swinton James McAvoy Jim Broadbent Ray Winstone Dawn French and Andrew Admenson ( I THINK ) STRUT THEIR STUFF!
  • The stone table cracking totally sounded like someone bowling a strike hahaha.

  • omg the flying part just kills me every time I watch it..

  • when they fly,I imagine Lucy saying,"Gee!I always wanted to ride a flying anamotronic lion!"

  • Flying lion!

    Awesooooome.

    c:

  • wait Alsan doesn't fly in the book!?!?!?!

oh well i still love you cheesy british version

  • The scene with the statues was always my favourite part of the story.

  • the roaring was more like a purr.......they could have done better

  • the flying part was awkward sounding.

  • This one scene where Aslan arrives at the witch's castle with all the stone people is actually done better in this version than the new version. Here, it's more haunting and you get a real sense of Aslan's power when he changes the people/animals back to normal en mass with his breath. You understand how many he changed back and why this army helped turn the tide. In the new version, it only seems like there's a couple of stone people at the Witch's castle.

  • Check out the fat Sleestak behind the witch @ 7:45 (or is it a miniature T-Rex?)!

  • That roar was pathetic! Lol..... Simba could have beat that shit!

  • @ButtaUsagi That's how Lions roar in real life usually

  • i dunno about this. but when i was watching this...i think narnia is in really here...

  • Oh cmon people, it's a resuraection not a catwalk; the girls are not supposed to be top models.

  • the acting is so much better in the new ones.

  • This is my favorite version, I've watched both, but, this one stuck more to the book. The other took the book title chucked the book away and then went into making the film with a vague knowledge of the story. Oh, and according to the book, Lucy wasn't cute, Susan was, if you don't believe me read Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Lucy wants to be beautiful so she nearly casts a magic spell on herself. By the way I love the way Lucy looks in this one.

  • Its funny how the enemy is all cartoon. The movie version is more grand!

  • I love the Disney/20th century fox version better. Better fx and more realistic characters (real mouse ie)

  • "You better put your fingers in your ears...while I purr oh so loudly."

  • georgie henley is a better lucy (:

  • @TheBetter10x I agree! She's cuter :D

  • I love this adaptation. It actually oh, you know... made an EFFORT to stay faithful to the book it was adapting. It's funny how huge film budgets and actors who no one could call "fat" on idiotic youtube comments can't give a movie the artistry and faithfulness of this humble but adorable version.

  • @Inca666 Wow, talk about being judgmental. This Lucy is NOT fat, for fuck's sake. She's got a round face and some meat on her bones, but she's not fat. The size zero ideal did not exist back in the '80s and thank the Gods for that! Seeing as Aslan was a costume with two people inside, I don't see how they could have made his lips sync.

  • @HeathenMaiden I agree with you. This version is awesome.*Gives you a hug*.They at least try to follow the book and I think they did awesome job with it. Disney had computer animated characters and they might look better but Disneys version is done with today´s computers and programs, when at the time this version they did even have change to animate 3D characthers with fur. And I think those guys who played Aslan did awesome job.And how in heck you can check the lipsync from inside a lion?!?O_O

  • @Varjokani Thank you! :)

  • @HeathenMaiden You are welcome. I m so glad that you putted this serie on youtube. :)

  • @HeathenMaiden Lucy is a little chubby actually. but she is NOT fat now. theres an interview in....2007? i think. of the 4 kids. lucy is actually now much more attractive than susan.

  • @HeathenMaiden I agree but Georgie Henley was much better...

  • @Inca666 u no u ppl really outta stop critisizing ppl about their looks keep ur damn opinion to urself cuz i bet u look as ugly as the white witch

  • @chikolocu I'm just saying it like it is, I can't help it if the first thing that came to MY mind is that she's a little bit stuffed. At least I'm not the only one who thinks so, and if you want to backlash me, you should at least spell out every word correctly so you don't look like an idiot. You can say anything all you want I could care less, I'm not going to that level that I have to offend others in their opinion.

  • @Inca666 well first thing u should fucin no is too keep ur opinions to ur damn selves and second of all ur being a retarded bitch plus she looked 100000 times prettier than u i bet.

  • @Inca666 no need to be a jerk!, also aslan is a quadsuit, there mouthes dont move verywell.. its not there fault. BESIDES the lion is suppose to not be in synced, because he is a lion that they can understand, so if they werent able to understand it its roaring anyways... GOSH >.<

  • @Inca666 THe Lion in this version is a robot.

  • @Inca666 Ok I agree with everything you just said but, a lil harsh on the girl who plays Lucy, but Georgie Henley was MUCH better

  • he's not real! he's tow men in a bloody suit!

  • @VictorianGurls And you're SOOOOOO judgmental and immature.

  • No Lucy is the yongest one

  • @VictorianGurls listen punk just because ur soooooooooooooooooooo skinny with no meat like a skeleton too doesnt mean u gotta go around critisizing ppl and btw lucy is nice and sweet u rly outta keep ur opinions to urself. i like lucy chubby and she shouldnt change she has meat in her bones and she can pwn u with a fist cuz ur tooooooooooooooooooooo skinny.

  • @VictorianGurls Lucy is young! She has child chubbiness! Jeez

  • who ate all the pies

    LUCY?

  • 5:19 My chiwawa barks louder than that

  • Aslan is just awesome, the white witch couldn't keep him down for long.

  • That roar....Is that really all he could do? hehe

  • aslan got a weak ass roar

  • 08:38 lmao!!

  • Lucy's teeth improve alot in the dawn treader.

  • I always wondered - when Aslan healed the stone figures in the witch's garden, if the stone critters who were feasting in the wood were healed too! They may never be freed :(

  • @dormi87 Debbie Downer. Wah waaaaaaaah! lol jk

  • @dormi87 They probably were restored. Lewis probably just forgot to mention that situation. Its likely that Aslan breathed on them after he left the Pevensies and narnians back at Cair Paravel.

  • @dormi87 I always figured as he made his way through the wood he healed them or maybe when the children were crowned they were restored.

  • 08:58 lucys Face lol

  • 05:19 I'm sorry, I couldn't stop myself from laughing. That was some roar alright. And his face! XD 07:17 And I don't remember that happening in the book. Look out for the flying Lion!

  • ha ha... 6:34 - 6:37 (Ooh...I see)

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT!?

  • @SiverlinedPro:

It's the greatest TV show in history.

  • Well then i didn't know aslan flew in the book!

  • @luvytaylor

    YAH, i know.

    that is very confusing

    He can't

  • No offense intended, but Lucy looks like an Eskimo with her huge red cheeks.

...and I think enough has already been said about her teeth which make her look like a squirrel, so I won't say anything about her teeth.

So Susan strolls along, then exclaims in surprise, "Oh snap! The stone table broke. Lucy? Did you trip and hit your teeth on it?"

  • 7:16

    Aslan you can fly?!

Of COURSE I can! I'm GOD! Aslan AWAAAAY!!!

  • Lucy sure some ugly teeth!

  • the stone figures are great :D

  • 8:29 what the heck!!!! that was so pointless!!

  • oh crap the rock broke.

  • Great shameless plug.

"hopefully there is a sequel!" Er............. do you live under a rock? This is arguably the most famous book series ever written. Great fake enthusiasm, though.

    And great shameless plug.

  • ASLAN, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU COULD FLY!

  • i always got the impression they spent all the money on the lion and the rest was done with whatever left overs from Dr Who they could get hold of or whatever the artist could pencil in after. the lion is immense -better than the disney one (there i said it!) but the rest are grim even for the 1980s...

  • LMFAO @ Aslan and the girls flying!

    Excellence.

  • Aslan! Oh Aslan! You're not dead Aslan!

I love this series. But really. Captain Obvious.

  • BEST...LINE...EVER!

  • @troubleinkw that was classic. had a good laugh reading that.

  • "Oh, I see... We cried are heads off and you all along it will be alright?"

"I knew of the old incantation."

    LOL

  • I feel it is time for a roar! You better put your fingers in your ears!

    ...roar...

  • LOL

  • I love how when he roars he opens his mouth like a centimetre wide...

  • i'm supprised he could even WALK with FAT Lucy on his back, let alone fly! Lol! XD

  • I'm sure there is no need for your infantile comments over here.

  • you have no humour, do ya?! it was a joke...CLOD!

  • Wait, now I am the one without humour? Judging people by the way they look is far from humour... especially if they cannot defend themselves.

  • Lucy needs some serious dental work.

  • the fuck is this shit?

omg i remember my 8th grade teacher putting this the same year the new version of the movie came out in 2005, everyone was laughing their asses off in the flying scene!

  • You mean you actually go to school? For your vocabulary most certainly lacks.

  • It was 1988 not 1987 - Nov to Dec

  • well all of you are right i have a older sister who was born in 1985 and she read these books and she hates the new ones but loves the olds and i hate the new ones to but i love the classics

  • As I watch Lucy and Susan fly on the back of AslanI cant help how much they look like the drawings in the books. This is one that goes on the cover of some editions as well. Good job on that creators of this series.

  • All these people talking about Aslan as if he's JUST a lion. The lion is just one form. In one of the later books he's also lamb and NO that's not a Twilight joke ;)

  • People are far too critical of this version and it really bugs me. First off this was NOT a movie as so many people seem to think it was a BBC series shown on BBC One at about 5 PM on Sunday evening in 1988. For a BBC budget in the 1980's this was top stuff and yes by today's standards the vis effects are poor even for a TV show but more is available now for less money.

  • yeah, this one is more like theatre on film instead of a all out movie. It's more like a play

  • I am very much with you. Just look back at the fight between Peter and Maugrum. Plus, I think more people who do the stage versions of the book should watch this. There are so many ideas to be well adapted to a stage in here.

  • this movie was made in 1987 the new one was made in 2005

  • And after 20 years new version looks like more realistic :) But this is classic :p

  • that rawr could have been harder. and the lion is so fake. the other movie is way better!

  • This was aired 1988, so no, it isn't better considering the technology that was available during that time. I personally find the new movies quite horrible compared to them old ones.

It's definitely because I grew up with this but even if I wouldn't have I'd probably found it bloody brilliant.

  • well put, friend, well put. The new movies just don't have the emotional content of the old ones. it may be nostalgic bias but either way, I'd rather watch these on youtube than the new ones on the big screen

  • Why put your fingerrrrs in yourrr hearrrs ? ROAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR !!!

PS:The monsters of the White Witch are really ugly

  • what a roaarrrr! haha:D

  • Flying scene isn't too sharp, they could have done better.

  • He's a flyin' lion!!

  • lmfao he was suppose to run!

  • Pfft sif they wouldn't be noticed!

  • you know, aslan probably could fly, he sent eustace flying in the last book. but i still think the flying scene in this is a bit much.. lol!

  • lol .. lucy.. you gotta love those teeth hangin out her mouth all the time lol but i think susan is pretty

  • Basically the White Witch didn't read the fine print...

  • The White Witch just turned one of her own into stone. Namely a Lich that stepped on a stick.

  • yuppers. she shows no wekaness or mercy, evn toher loyal underlings. Suppose they'd turn on her if she did

  • I remember this from swedish television... Memories

  • oh my

  • Their costumes are so damn crappy on this show. At least Disney wasn't this crappy. This looks like my backyard the way this was filmed. LOL 9If u want to I'm not forcing u to laugh)

  • Please realize that Disney had a few 10's of millions of dollars more put into their movie...

  • LOL true.

  • Aslan can fly?!?

  • Aslan was a costume with two men inside. There is no way they would have been able to make him run. So the only option they had was to make him fly.

  • wow! I never knew there was two guys in the costume!

  • yeah I know! I thought he was a machine! lol

  • @HeathenMaiden but doesn't he fly in the book & in the new moviee ?

  • @GabrielaSaysHi NNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! not trying to be mean but no not at all

  • @cresentclaw23 lml - no your not being mean .

i just had no idea ; its been a while since i watched the new version & read the book

  • Your mentality would be in the "lack of" category.

  • I'm sorry for what I said :( I guess everyone likes these because they're classics. I apologize to everyone.

  • people feel very strongly for things that they grew up with. try critisising the Beatrix Potter seris they had on TV years ago, and say that the MIss Potter movie's better... its the same thing

  • lmfaaaoo

  • 8:10..WHAT??? How could she turn that ghoul into stone?? Her wand is supposed to work only on good creatures.. Maybe she sniffed a traitor?

  • She wanted everything to be silent, but the ghoul stepped on a twig and she went mad....

  • lucy looks retarded and fat in this version, the new ones are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better

  • I respect all of you guys that like

this version but I personally love

    the new Aslan.

Hes better to look at lmao.

  • My sister loves every kind of Narnia

  • i love the new narnia wayyyyyyyyyyyy better

  • We cried our heads off! Haha. I can just see it:

    "Waaahh...oh Aslan!...*sniff sniff*...waaaah...." POP!

  • Personally I hated the clean, polished look of the 2005 movie, IMO this is much better.

Though Aslan really needs to learn how to lip-sync! :P

  • Gosh, this brings back a lot of good memories;D

I miss the Narnia series! I remember watching this every morning during Christmas:P

  • I think it was a good idea to make Aslan fly in this version...

  • I am sorrybut it is not very good it a litte borring and not very good

  • i dun wanna be insulting but the roar was kinda like......not a roar

  • i like the new narnias better

  • lol doesnt everyone
