this could make a great rock song, the more i hear old arabic country songs the more i think that american song writers stole alot of ideas from arabic country songs.
Lovely! Joyful & spirited as Basra people and most Iraqis... used to be, before invasion and occupation started to shatter their lives with violence, hatred and fear.
This song seems to say: Our human rooted love for life and cherished recollections VERSUS their unholy, misanthropic & megalomanic fantasies.
History leaves no doubt about the outcome of such a clash and the future would, hopefully, continue its natural course.
Before Occupation the people of Basra like in the rest of Iraq languished under the Fascist Dictatorship of Saddam Hussein and his Cronies!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Dear Sumer,
Dear Anna,
Dear Talal,
Wonderful work. The history you're writing slowly, patiently, and selflessly, will have its day when it is fully acknowledged.
