I have watched the full video. Tthe words of Dr Tutu are honest, insightful and gentle. He is asking us to look at the situation objectively. I did not understand why so many of the comments were heated, reacting to words never said. Please listen fully to the video calmly. I am white and have lived in the Black community for 20 years, a blessing to learn how wonderful the culture truly is. The way forward can only happen through understanding.

Hearing Tutu gives me hope for SA, and his honesty, wisdom and courage to say the things that people don't want to hear are an inspiration to stand up for the truth and what is right. Often I too am tired of the guilt - whether self-imposed or forced on me by others - of being a white South African. But it is my legacy and inheritance that cannot be erased (just as e.g. the Germans could not erase their Holocaust history), and the challenge is to turn this legacy into a positive contribution.
