Most bulls aren't mean, my dad had a bull when he was a kid, and he could lie on the back on that bull and sleep, and the bull would just graze, and being carefull so he didn't drop my dad. Bulls, not rodeo bulls, but ordinary bulls were used to pull carts, plow fields and so on many many years ago...that would have been hard if the animals bucked naturally or was very mean by nature.
Rodeo bulls are breed to have a temper, specilly the mexican rodeo bulls - that is different.
I do agree that many "tame" animals have it better under human care, but -care- is the key word to that. If a horse runs away, it may live happily in the wild, so can bulls. In fact, two kind bulls got loose and lived almost one year wild here. Many humans treat their animals horribly for no reason. If a bull is allowed to live a bull's life, protecting his herd of cows and calfs, grazing, and possibly have a good human interaction, they are very nice and sensetive creatures.
And if you DO have bulls as you say, then you know as well as I do how extremely sensetive their skin is, specilly under their bellies and around their genitals. I have herded a whole herd of bulls, some yearlings, some up to three years old, with the use of a long stick with some leaves on the end of it. I just stroke their bellies, or tap them gently with the leaves, and they move.
I got into a fight with the most stubborn one, but I just herded the others and he followed.
@BuiltTOUGH95 I am happy to hear that you do not treat your animals in such a way, and I agree that there are plenty worse things in the world than a flank strap for a few seconds, but sadly that isn't the only thing that rodeos do. They DO abuse the animals, and they over breed them to get the most "buck worthy" stock.
@BuiltTOUGH95 then send the rest they can't sell to auctions, who usually end up in the illegal slaughter houses. I hope that if you go to these shows that you will at least be the voice for those that can't speak, and say something when you see the cruelty(shocking, tail ringing, hitting, pushing..) as you seem to be one of the few who have a heart.

The associations I competed in handed out stiff fines if they found any illiegal use of spurs or any kind of abuse, because those animals cost them ALOT of money and they can't afford for them to be hurt. And as for me I wish I could tell you the countless times ive been out in a field at 3 a.m. helping a heifer have her first calf because she wasn't able to on her own. And im not just the only one. There have been hundreds of cowboys before me also
