... a time when black sabbath was developing their love for drugs - particularly marijuana and psychedelics - and alcohol. ROFL ... Great fucking song !!!
@ Tattoed, I have to go Bonham, but I agree Ward never really got the credit he deserves. Rival Brummys (English slang for Black Country Birmingham boys!) ;)
@ Brutal: Good call. Paris 1970 if I remember correctly. Paranoid hadn't even come out.
@dujac88 He's always pictured himself as a clown. I guess those features are more visible at old age or something. Also, his brain has got to be really fucked up from all the drugs and alcohol he's been consuming in his life as well.
@dujac88 Nope I did not. I'm not saying that he WAS a clown, but HE sais that he always saw himself as a clown. That's what he sais in his book anyway. If you'd read my entire comment I said that it's probably the old age combined with the extreme lifestyle of his past that causes it.
@ZamCronos yeah oz speaks with a bit of a slur i think thats taking cocaine and alcohol the worst drugs combo the coke allows you to keep on drinking well past when you should have dropped..sharon arden is responsible for the parody that is the osbournes ..i hate it when all these straights go ozzys really funny etc..hes lost the plot abit an shes cashing in ..still thats only my view
I know some people get pissed when it comes to comparing sabbath and zeppelin so let it be known that I am not starting any kind of debate or who is better comparison. but this song sounds like it could be a zeppelin song. like I could Imagine Robert Plant singing this.
@koenanthebavarian Aren`t you a little young to be liking Black Sabbath videos?? Aaaaaahh, because you`re a sad little Canadian who likes to watch animals being tortured - now I understand the link. Read Ozzy`s autobiography - he never actually tortured live animals on stage. So now you`ll have to get your kicks from somewhere else- sicko

I love their very begenning too. They started along with bands like Jethro Tull and Atomic Rooster, doing similar things with deep heavy blues inspiration, but they played good music until the end. I mean, i'm far muuuuuch interested in the 69-78 years.
They were so loud in Savannah, GA at the Civic Center in the seventies that we had to get away from the stage to enjoy them. this fucking great stuff. brings back memories. i remeber sitting on the corner of 16th and Passyunk Ave in South Philadelphia listening to Black Sabbath, looking for some pussy or a fist fight. If you know the area, you get it!
really? Ive never heard it called that before and ive been into em for 23 years! i thought maybe that it was a name for the jam at the end or something.
I think its supposed to be Wasp/Behind the wall of sleep....I think the opening jam is titled Wasp. I could be wrong, I think thats what is printed on the back cover of the album.
Though what you said is true, and well put, their will still be fools who believe in something divine, the Sun is not divine, so yeah, they were on to something
I could buy into the whole "stoner-rock" scene and spend thousands on so-called classics. Or, I could go out and get the first 5 Sabbath albums and be done with it.
@redshaftedflicker So true dude. Iommi, Butler and Ward at their peaks make a lot of the current "stoner rock" seem really fuckin limp. Plus, they were creating a genre and not subscribing to one.
dang it! my friend was right!I DONT BELONG IN THIS ERA... 2000S AND ALL... I BELONG IN THE 70S, (60S) 80S, THE ERA OF (C)RAP IS SO WRONG FOR ME...i wish i was alive then, with black sabbath.
