Look up The Pud Brothers on MySpace - you can hear James Renald (of the Canadian band Sky, of Some Kind of Wonderful/Love Song fame) sing it...he composed it, sang it, but never released it (I don't think the Pud Brothers made an album) - guess he sold the song for the movie. Renald sounds way better...

@GrimReaper30 I don't know if it was based on actual events, but the competition is based on the South by Southwest festival in Austin, TX, where most of the movie was shot. Most of the bands in the contest, including the Glory Dogs, who are known as Joker, are from the Austin area, and were unsigned when the film was made.

scott porter is a god. he's probably the best singer in the bunch, certainly better than michalka and vanessa hudgens. i really liked his character in the movie, he was never too annoying or antagonistic. i liked this song and phil's song/someone to fall back on best, actually i wish there was a recording of the glory dogs playing someone to fall back on.
