man, it's just the combination...it's a usual car, you can drive with it like with any other car, but at least it fucks almost every car you meet, especially on the german autobahn, you simply drive away :D
actually that car is best in auto its quicker and the dsg transmission is just superior in shifting and overall driving pleasure with its versatillity with the tiptronic control on the shifter and paddle shifters on the wheel its pretty tight...
@speakeasy365 shifting a stick into 6 different positions while working a clutch isn't a challenge, driving a manual doesn't make you better than anyone
just drove a bit in germany for the first time...with a humble Golf TDI 105...and...I can't describe the feeling :) I don't want to know with a proper engine then... :P
we could never have anything like the autobahn in america...too many idiots who just can't drive and foolish teenagers who all think they're invincible
Nobody in the US does over 65? SOmeone is a little ignorant, considering highway speedlimit is 70, and I do 90-100+ on a regular basis...not that im showing off, but sorry your wrong
in the US no one does over 65. and what cracks me up is the 60mph limits on the arrow straight empty desert roads! here in the uk our country roads have the same limit!
What are you going to do...go 50 on the Autobahn?? alger82 and FryChicken are right, the way people drive on the highways in the states suck, they will cut you off and slow down in front of you in the left lane. It is illegal to drive too slow on the autobahn, and it is also illegal to run out of gas on the autobahn ;-), thank you history channel.
There is a huge difference between driving fast and driving unsafe.
He closes with "Take Care!" and "No speeding!". To me you are just an opponent of driving fast. Likely because you or people around you are not very good drivers. You may say that people that drive fast just overestimate their skills. That is often true, but not fast drivers overestimate their skills, bad drivers do!
never saw a race on tv? they crash often. are they bad drivers, too? fact is: if your drive faster, the risk is higher. for all on the autobahn. if someone wanna race, dont use the autobahn. use the racetrack.
That's how you drive on the autobahn. Here in the States, if you're driving fast on the left and some idiot to your right thinks you're going too fast by THEIR judgement, they'll JUMP IN TO THE LEFT LANE IN FRONT OF YOU AND DRIVE SLOW. How does is that safe or lower the risk of an accident? On the autobahn everyone keeps mind of their surroundings and use the left lane for what it's for: passing.
How about now. In Germany, people know what to expect on the autobahn, so he is doing exactly what other people expect him to do. The German autobahn is in fact safer than the American Highway system.
Hm this is only 200hp. And DSG automatic. My best friend had a Golf V Gti "tuned by Rica" 267hp and 395nm torque, and 6 manual gears. That was fun. Still have a picture of 270km/h on the autobahn.
euro cars have automatic tranny wit manual mode which is better than automatic wit overdrive but still manual tranny is better (high speed, auto control, high RPM, n shift response)
Just wondering if anyone could tell me a little about the autobahn. Are there speed limits or is it toatally derestricted and also do slow drivers ever get in the way and block the fastlane and if so are there penalties ?...Thank You
1.No speed limits in Germany on the Autobahn. You can drive as fast as you want if you get the chance amongst heavy traffic.
2.Very frequently there are temporary speed limits of 120,100,or 80 km/h near junctions etc, speed traps are common.
3.Most people use their rear view mirror and honour speedier cars coming from behind, yet there might be "slow" (130-140 km/h) drivers blocking, especially when overtaking trucks etc.
4.Left lane is for overtaking only. Penalties can apply if you don't move out of the left lane if you can, e.g. the right or middle lane is empty. However, the quicker car behind must not force you by flashing his headlights, turning on the indicator, or sounding the horn. You may be fined heavily for that.
5.Compared to other European drivers, Germans are fast, attentive and very disciplined.
"Left lane is for overtaking only" and more are rules in the whole European Union and @ the most streets in the world. The Germans only follow the rules better than in many other countries is ordinairy.
oh man!! GTI Mir Automatik? nenene, da hast du aber den Sinn von dem GTI noch nicht ganz verstanden. Mercedes S500 fährt man mit Automatik, aber nicht den GTI
