these are specific requirements to it being a "netbook" plus no optical drive allowed. they tried to release a "hybrid" but microsoft refused to liscence windows to them because it didn't fall under the "netbook" category. 2 gb ram max
I tried that same Kingston ram on my MSI Wind U100-420US running Windows 7 and got memory dumps and rebooting. Took that stick back to the store and it ran fine on an ACER running XP...I tried Muskin 1GB DDR2 PC5300 and no problems. I have read others using Kingston ram with no problems so I am not sure if this is an OS thing.
well thanks for that because i never knew what RAM I needed but now i do so thanks

Hi, a few questions if you have a moment,
What is the max RAM the u100 will recognise
if the answer is 2gb, is this a xp bottleneck or the motherboard?
thanks!

Hi, as i remember it, there's a max of 2gb ram on the motherboard. But I'm not 100% sure.

Hi,
It sounds like an OS thing.
How is the performance of Win7 on the Wind? If you compare the performance with a Wind running WinXP.

I haven't tried upgrading the U120. That model is not on the market in Denmark yet.

Is it sure that you can't upgrade memory on the new MSI U120?

Pity they don't offer a specific RAM door like the eee does - I don't like the idea of having to remove the entire back just to get to the RAM.

Your wind working more faster with 2Gb or not ? I mean is there really big difference in 1 and 2 Gb ?
