  • GOR90, You can eat my blind ass. I am partially sighted and I know a lot of blind ppl who live without assistance. Were not fucking tards. Ive run across a few of the hybrids not been a big issues but then I live in a quieter area. I would imagine that in large cities they could cause some issues. Your comments concerning blind ppl are insulting and ignorant. As for this show, what a load a crap, who needs to watch a vid of their shirt being made.

  • We do not need the hybrid car to sound off all the time, just when a Blind person is in the area... I have heard of a company from Michigan that makes a device called P.A.S.S, Which emits noise from a Hybrid car only when a Blind person is in the area.... I saw this last month in downtown ROCHESTER, MI... (Where I live) I wish I could talk to the guys that were doing the test to get more info... but Creative Performance on the shirt

    Angelo

  • i know this is going to come off wrong but it shouldnt matter, blind people should never be alone!!! there are cars that arent electric that are very quiet. blind people should have dogs or people to help them at all times, and this is because of the danger of not being able to see and feeling with a stick. now for you people that almost got hit from a hybrid because u didnt see it coming, LOOK BOTH WAYS not just listen and run, der

  • I don't know about the blind but I've seen people on cell phone almost get hit by electric cars. Those cars are so quiet! I'd just chalk it up to natural selection though- I mean really, what is so damn important that you have to have the phone to your head 24/7?

  • Being a capitalist, I like how this show has commercialized.

  • big deal blind people are just gonna have to look both ways before they cross the road... problem solved

  • yeah, be sure to check out this full of crap unsubstantiated paranoiac video, complete with exxon's favorite scientist who don't publish in peer reviewed journals.

  • (that was referring to esoteric agenda, not this video)

  • i almost got hit by a hybrid cause i didnt hear it comming round the corner

  • George Carlin - Save the planet

  • when you post a vid, you should think about changing your T-shirt once in a while. But i guess the vid is okay...

  • I think having hybrids make noise is a good idea, I mean its not like we have enough noise in our society already right?

  • How about hybrids emit a radio signal that people w/ a special earpiece can hear. Not a solution for Helen Keller, but it gets rid of the noise polution while solving the problem

  • ....i fked that chick

  • how ?

she doesn't stand still long enough :))

  • I just love how she point where to subscribe. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I see an ad box there on where she pointing. :)

Anyway, how many blind people are really complaining that hybrids are too quiet? Next thing they'll come up with is bicycles should be louder as well.

  • me too

    :)

  • Well, shouldn't the drivers who AREN'T blind be looking out for blind pedestrians?

  • yay we use seventh generation for everything!! i feel so proud!

  • OK, explain the joke.

  • Yay~ Sadly on Earth day... I was @ school T_T

  • Awesome as usual guys, keep it up!

  • ya i'm sorry but i dont see blind people just randomly crossing the street, ever...they're blind, that would be suicidle, even if they could hear a car coming or not, they dont cross based on hearing cars they cross at crosswalks when they hear the beeping sound that indicates its safe to cross... also, people that aren't blind get hit by cars all the time, even when the cars making regular "car" sounds, so i doubt that would change anything making hybrids make noise. useless law IMO.

  • Actually, there are alot of independent blind persons who believe that their handicap shouldn't disable them from doing things like grocery shopping, going to a friend's house, and other errands and miscellaneous things. And not all crosswalks have noises to indicate when to go. All that said, it's stupid to have a car play music, there's got to be a easier, less random way...

  • Instead of making all the hundreds of millions of cars emit sound why not equip the few blind people with radar or other visual devises? That would be cheaper. They could point the thing down the street and detect moving objects. Then it could play a sound.

  • I'm sure they're not seriously considering having the vehicle play songs. I really don't think it's too much of a sacrifice to make a hybred car that has an automated humming sound if it means that peoples safety will continue to be ensured. I'm sure all of us have walked through a parking lot at one time had a near hit because there was someone backing out of a parking space that wasn't paying attention. Maybe this law being passed would help sighted people as well.

  • I never thought they would make hybrids play Metallica or Gwen Stefani...

I'm not for or against it. I think if the pros outweigh the cons, or vise verse, then that should decide. Research, logic, and trial and error should determine whether or not something be law.

We all have more of a chance of being hit by a drunk or someone fiddling with their radio. Fate is fate, humming noises aren't going to save lives, responsible drivers are.

  • it's not useless... it's just being sure that we keep a level of practicality in consideration for non sighted people. Laws are put into place for a reason, and if this one being passed has the ability to save just a few lives... then it's done a better good to our society.

  • totally brillianttt i love urr show! plus the hostess! amazing

  • yea totally got that joke

  • I thought blind people were only supposed to cross the street when they heard that high pitched ringing? That law seems unnecessary.

  • Usually only big cities consider putting in audio crosswalk devices, and in all technicalities... visually impared people are allowed to cross anywhere they'd like on the street. Not suppose to... but if they got hit doing it, the liability would immediately be to the driver.

  • I wonder how much extra energy goes into making the Lifecycle towel. Because I think I'd take the frayed edges vs. purchasing a towel that required more energy to make. If people really are upset about the frayed edges grab a needle and thread. And while you sit back and watch ZapRoot roll the edge over and sew it into place. I doubt if you're reusing it as a bath mat or a rag that you'll care too much if it's perfectly sewn.

Who knows Jessica things like this may save those 2 extra earths

  • Yup. Nerd here.

While Seventh Generation cleaning products are pretty darn cool, I suggest people just pick up "Better Basics for the Home: Simple Solutions for Less Toxic Living." Better Basics will show you how to clean stuff with out the use of traditional cleansers. Yes it works, No it's not a pain to mix up the supplies, and it sure the heck isn't nearly as expensive as purchasing cleaners from the store.

  • Maybe they can put playing cards in the wheel spokes! That would be awesome. No. It wouldn't. :) jim

  • didnt get that joke :P

  • not the beast episode.

  • yeah, not many beasts in that episode, i agree

  • lol

  • Got the joke! I'm such a nerd!

  • HAHA, I got that joke.
