  • 1ST LESSON: QUIT CALLING FOR A POSSIBLY RABID DOG

2ND LESSON: LEARN TO HOLD A CAMERA

  • poor pup sad :(

  • no i dont think it had rabies

  • I'm going to be honest, the puppy did look sick. Very skinny and at 1:02 the way it's tongue was hanging out was not normal. I don't know if it had rabies but aggression towards it's mother like that is totally unnatural....

  • Ever thought of heart worm or other intestinal parasites?

  • If it has rabies, how the hell did this pup get it? If its being protected by the mother, in my opinion it has beginning stages of rabies, no pup would make its mother run away from it like that

  • i cant say if it was sick or not but it was very aggressive. feral/ street dogs live in packs and puppies usually have to fight for a position in the pack.

  • The puppy just seems to be acting like a shitass pup. Some pups are like that and other dogs have to put them in their place. I didn't see any signs of rabies, but you never know.

  • A rabies victim is running long distances, with the saliva pouring out of its mouth, attacking everything that moves. This puppy was pure and simple trying to get a certain place in the pack hierarchy. Sometimes the dogs belonging to the same group slightly bite each other's muzzles. Sometimes is a sign of affection, of bond, sometimes sign of "go to your place", or "leave me alone, I'm not in the mood".

  • @kaykobra accepted.

  • No, he doesn't present like a dog with ascending paresis and paralysis nor does he have what I can call dysphagia. He looks like a hungry friendly dog that is being attacked by less friendly (also hungry) dogs. Check out signs and symptoms of rabies at any veterinary teaching hospital website.

  • @drjude518 well rabies presents two different ways...one way would be the paralysis. The other way would be acting very aggressive...but, the dog didn't look like it had hypersalavation...so I can't say if it did or didn't

  • fucking dogs, shut them all, hey what the fuck you are discussing, rabies ( like that other guy said ) is a death sentence, so even if there are a tiny chance that dog may have rabies - vaccinate.

  • geez everyone is stupid, the puppy is trying to be the dominate one its not so much picking fights what there heads raise above each other my two dogs do that. and the other thing the puppy is clearly sleeping because my puppy pitbull mix does that u can see when she whitsled the puppy woke right up if it was sick it would move that fast, its also prabolly hunry.

  • do you help strays?

  • Related..

Just a few days ago, there was a case in Goa where a person died of rabies 25 years after the dog bite. It was also said, max known incubation period was 9 years except this one whic is 25. whereas, normal time being 7-9 days.

Report also said, the cse could be the first in the world. NT dtd 4/12/09 front page

  • @JoeUkGoa wow this is VERY VERY rare...it usually takes anywhere from 7days to three months usually.

  • does NOT look like rabies to me. What it looks like to me is a single puppy with its mom - usually puppies have siblings for rough play - and it is unsocialized to packs, where they have to sort out a pecking order in any case. It seems irritable in the scene when it's alone with its mom. It could have another ailment that is bothering it, like a parasite, or bad food. Don't freak out, statistics are against it as well. Public health officials will say to get shots as a precautionary measure.

  • ok, if t were raies the puppy would have been frothing a tthe mouth and attacking every animal it seen viciously.

  • Wow, this is one of the few videos on here that the title is actually true-it's not making fun of rabies for once.

The dog probably did either have rabies or something else that just made it a pest.

I hope everything turned out ok for your friend.

Was the puppy tested after it died?

  • Not to be pessimistic or cold, but rabies is a death sentence - 100 % fatal. His friend is not okay if he got bitten. It can take months before the rabies shows itself. Only one person has ever survived it, but no one knows how.

  • Yes, that person was me. And actually the count is 3 survivors now-myself, a Columbian girl, and a Brazilian boy.

But, yes, if you get bit you need shot right away, don't take a chance.

  • Thanks. pl also see a related comment by me wehre a person died 25yrs after the dog bite

  • @Teslacoil12 - it was a girl in america, she was put into a coma deliberately by the doctors to stop the rabies ravaging through her body.

they just kept her under a massive dose of general anaesthetic. it was only a theory under testing but 3 weeks later they brought her out of the coma (they weren't sure if she would come out of it)

and when she woke up the rabies was gone but the affect the coma had meant she had to learn to speak and write again.

    there's been a few more cases (:

  • effect of the rabies, not the coma I believe, but Jeanna would know more about it than me, I just researched it. Either way, gold star for being informed :)

  • I could call you an idiot, but I won't (I call many people who are "ignorant" idiots just for good measure, but you are ignorant). Anyone who knows Jeanna Giese's story knows how she survived rabies, we just don't know why she was lucky enough to do so when many others die, except it is a dangerous procedure to undertake that they experimented on her. Also if it was 100% fatal, you couldn't get the preventative shots after getting bitten. Just reconsider your wording next time.

  • I know about the fucking girl. But the 100% don't relate to the percentage of survival victims, but to the treatment percentage after getting it.

  • So then it's more like... 99.9999% then?

  • @XTheGuvX No, because there isn't a real cure. That girl was only a miracle.

  • @Teslacoil12 I don't believe in miracles. I think it's a dangerous procedure, but it can work.

  • @XTheGuvX USA... off course...

  • @Teslacoil12 Actually no, rabies isn't a death sentence, if you don't get the shots asap after the bite it is, however if you're smart and get the shots even as a precaution, chances are you'll be fine.

  • The puppy never found.

We kept on looking for it for 3 days.

it's mother was seen though all the times

  • @JeannaGieseRabies01 Or may be it was a pup who wanted to play .____. .....

  • @naughtynishant Could be. If you read my comment, I never said the dog for sure had rabies. I said it was very possible or had "something else that just made it a pest." It was really aggressive, whether sick or not.

  • @JeannaGieseRabies01 ye i neva blamed u on anything? XD ....that pup is just like too eager to play XD ...atleast for me XD

  • @naughtynishant lol I know. I was just clarifying.

  • This is one of the most informative videos documenting an actual rabies case I've come across on the web. It goes to show that behavior in a rabid animal is not so easy to identify. Sad that this happens, but as a case study, JoeUkGoa has done an excellent job.

  • You're probably right. Any follow up on the puppy?

  • Thanks

the puppy died after 1 or 2 days

  • I am positive the puppy has rabies. Don't take chances!

  • The clinical signs are: Irritable, aggressive, excitability, bark change, paralysis, and salivation. Its a good thing your friend got the vaccines. It could have been rabies.

  • that puppy might have been in pain that might explain the bitting but it might be in the first stage of rabies. is it foaming at the mouth, or attacking anyone or anything? if so it could have rabies

  • looks like rabies to me, my dogs recently killed two skunks in a week so i have brushed up on my knowledge of rabies they have there vacines and have no visible bites scratches of any kind so im pretty sure im in the clear. I previously thought rabies was pretty much wiped out in the us. Quite wrong i was so please be carefull

  • Canine rabies (found in dogs has been wiped out) but other forms found in racoons, skunks, bats, rats, foxes, etc are still common. When the disease jumps the species barrier it is a problem.

  • Is there anything that the city that you live in can do?.

The mom was clearly doing the best that she could to lead the puppy in the oposite direction, later on she was trying to be attentive to the puppy.

  • Kill them, it's the only way.

  • The puppy died??

The above video was captured 24hrs after the dog bite. but today, less than 48hrs, the puppy is missing only the puppy's mother seen despite closely watchin the mother for more than 4 hrs. The puppy could have died or very sick and thus unable to move. The puppy appeared very sick and weak when we last saw it live with its mother (yesterday).

I guess I did the wise thing by taking my friend to the doc and give anti-Rabies dose

  • theres other reasons for this kind of aggression other then rabies, why are they in this park a lone in the firsted place, wheres the owner it would seem someone would have help them long befor now,the pup might be acting this way because it has never been showen love there are so many reasons for its actions other then rabies, someone needs to help them befor its to late, if its not alreaddy, someone could have abused them to make the pup act this way it dose not look like it has rabies,

  • Thanks.

There are the stray dogs in the park.

There are about 20 such dogs including bitches. Their population grows every october (after August mating month).

And yes, you could be right. But no one should take chances and hence I put this up in the interest of all.

    thanks once again

  • where is these dogs owners, some one needs to get them help, the pup needs someone to show him love and care, we do not know how they have been treated, there are reason animals act out in this way, please help them if you can.

  • No idea but thanks for warning other people.

  • re: "where is these dogs owners"

    HELLO ....heard of Stray Dogs?

Advice: Stay far away from these dogs and always carry a stick when walking in areas infected by strays.
