If you don't need a long ribbon cable, I would check on eBay... there are several at around 7 inches long (search for "pci express ribbon").
I tried eBay first, but the way I configured the components required a longer cable. The one I got from eBay came from Hong Kong, so shipping time wasn't the best, but it wasn't nearly as expensive.
Yeah, those tiny mobos open up alot of options... and the built-in power supply was a nice addition.
I found the riser card and extension at Orbit Micro (Links are in the Description). The extension cable was much more expensive than I would have hoped. I found some on eBay, but I couldn't find the right length. Orbit Micro makes them at custom lengths, so I ended up biting the bullet on that one.
Ummm, I'm purposely not letting myself watch any other NES mods, because I'm very excited to see how this thing comes out. HA HA
Very nice job, I wish you always had a camera man so we could see what you are doing close up more often. Very good on remembering to zoom in when you were done with each section. That helped a lot. Maybe do it half way through also??? Just trying to give constructive criticism.
Thanks JR... Making the video definitely adds another dynamic to the process. It's an art that I'm still getting acquainted with. Thanks for the suggestion... tips are always welcome.
Yeah I know, one reason why I haven't uploaded any videos for a couple weeks or so. It makes what you are doing not as fun I think. Also, it makes what you are doing take a lot longer! lol I might have one coming tonight or in a couple days though, an easy one. Keep up the good work.
Thanks man... I think the hardest part was waiting for all the miscellaneous parts to come in... then re-ordering when I needed something else. Most of the cuts didn't really have to be too precise, which is always nice when trying something new.
lol you sound like adam sandler!¬

What would you say if you would have made the exhaust on the top of the case instead of the bottom because of the heat generated by the computer?

@Nadrealis I personally wouldn't purely for cosmetic purposes.
Then again, 'da hell do I know? xD but as far as heat goes, yeah, I guess that would work. Looks better that way though.

Dude that motherboard tray came out great! How hard was it to measure everything out and cut?
