In 1978 was 10 years old and me and my brother wandered into an old disused cinema in Fulham, just along the street from the Beggar Banquet shop and offices. Inside The Doll were rehearsing... we recognized them from Top of The Pops. We spent the afternoon hanging out, and even got to muck about on the drum kit. Our mum came down to pick us up at teatime. I bought all their singles after that... thought they were great, especially the 12 inch version of Desire Me.
Classic! Oh my youth is flooding back. God Bless John Peel for introducing me to all this. For you all, please seek out "Tango In Mono" by the Expressos. More mod than punk, still a fantastic track.
OHHHH Woah you blow my mind with the INFO Section you do! The mothers of Le tigre & Lesbians on Ecstasy I met both bands have cds from both, Love the Yeah yeahs yeahs and the rest of the bands..Well any way THIS SONG ROCKS!! Thnks 4 post
I did a 'drag' show to this song once, coming out of a garbage bin wearing a bin liner, then got back in the bin at the end, lol, (and I'm hetero too, which is even funnier probably)
Thank you for listing Visible Targets. I grew up in the NW and listened to them on the radio. I've had the pleasure of meeting Pamela and her sis since then! Great GREAT band and nice people too!
Also an amazing German band is "Hans-A-Plast" - listen to "Lederhosentyp", or "Rank Xerox"!

There are women bands and solo guitarists way before the Runaways ever formed and definitely way before Hole.

don't forget kora from Maanam (poland) and beata kozidrak (bajm), the early stuff from the end of the 70's / start of 80's.
