The mantis eats only because it is hungry. Humans have invented more cruel ways to put other humans to death, not because they are hungry, but just to see others suffer, for trivial reasons like race, religion etc. Think of burning at stake, skinning alive, cruxification, iron maiden etc. Compared to a mantis, humans are more cruel.

Arrowana eat thier prey whole and let them disolve in thier stomach. Alot of things eat thier prey whole and guess what they are still alive in their stomach. Mantids only eat things that are alive. And those "feeder" fish are bred to be eaten. Its time you got a good look at nature. The thing that makes the world beautiful
