She has a magnificent voice, and quite a range for a contralto! When she sang "Mon Coeur Su A Ta Voix" I got goosebumps! Amazing emotion as well in her voice! She knows what she is singing! Love, Liz
I disagree. I think Marian Anderson was capable of to perform opera. But I think she, like all wise artists, chose to sing what was healthy and not stress her voice too much.
she has an amazing as amatter of fact i am doing an oral presentation on Marian Anderson for a grade that can bene fit me in a number of ways Lyricalizde she is and because of ethnicity she is
I am thankful Marian Anderson lived to a great age- I believe she was with her nephew, who was conductor of the Portland, Oregon symphony. I consider her a credit to the American people and the greatest singer who has ever lived. I think the Schubert-Rellstab "Stanchen" is her outstanding performance. She was also excellent in Walter Scott's "Ave Maria" and many spirituals such as "All God's Children Got Shoes". I hope her recordings will remain available to future generations,
Bravo, Marian!
You know why marginal as operasinger?? Because she had to overcome what you call a "kulturpolitischen Bedeutung" She just was'not allowed!!!!
Her voice and interpretation were unique, like all real stars "mit dem gewissenen Etwas" or charisma.
She belongs certaintly here because of her vocal and artistic qualities: I get a little nervous when her " kulturpolitischen Bedeutung" is mentioned. Did you discover, that black people can sing??
