@Rudern98 In a TAS you record the game using an emulator in slow motion (Called Frame Advance) while using save states and rerecording. The idea is to find out how fast the game can be beaten with perfect gameplay.

The only thing stored in the TAS-movie file is pure input, nothing else. So if the same input would have been done on a console, this would have been the result.

We really aren't. Rikku is an excellent TASer, he just hasn't done anything with the game in a while. I do find his runs a bit lacking in the entertaining department, though, but as far as optimisation goes, we're generally as good as each other. Glad you enjoyed the run.

It's a glitch.

The backward jump is a flaw just as going through walls is. These unintentionnal features are known as glitches. There are glitches in every video games. At that time, the 3d was run using a quite slow processor, so the developpers put some "sloppy programming" in some hard-to-reach places (which takes much less processing power than a well programmed boundary) in order not to overload the processor (which would make the game slow). Those parts of the game can easily be exploited.

- programms which calculate the quickest way through the game and execute it.

- overclocking simulators (or should I say underclocking?), used to slow down the gameplay and do things which require very precise movement or so, not achievable in normal gameplay due to a lack of human reflex.

- turbo buttons simulator, these turbo buttons emulate as if you hit the key extremely rapidly, at a rate which is probably superior to the human capability
