kobe bryant is a combination of michael jordan and the young generation players, he has the fade away a better shooter with unlimited range, crossovers, head fakes a better defender how can you defend that? he is the total package
kobe is not one of the top 5 pure shooters in the game. but there is nobody in the history of the game that can make the types of shots he does on a ergular basis
id never put him in the top 5 PURE shooters coz he isnt a pure shooter because he does everything, saying he isnt a pure shooter doesnt nessercarily mean he isnt the best shooter, just that he does more than just shoot.
some other player can do too Dwade, Lebron, Steve Nash, Chauncey Billups they will always need the ball in their hand end of the game when time running out
And it is for this reason that Kobe is better than lebron. A lot of people see the speed, elevation and unbelievable athletisism of Lebron and then compare it to kobe who dosent have the raw speed and power. But kobe can score on anyone from anywhere on the court even if the middle is clogged up with a big center like howard. Lebron cant do that
"Best shooter"? he hasn't even shot 50% or above for his whole career. 14 seasons in. MJ shot 50% for his career and also had season above 52% while capturing 10 scoring titles. c'mon now people lets not get ahead of ourselves. Kobe has two scoring titles but didnt shoot at least 50% for either.
You realize about 3 years of his career, his shooting percentage only went down because he had to take low quality shots, from having teammates like smush parker, etc. Not saying he's the best shooter, he just had to take volume shots that brought his % down.
In my opinion, Kobe's got the most beautiful shooting stroke in the NBA,
even better than Ray Allen to me although only by a little.
Ray is more of a catch and shoot shooter, but Kobe's got the fadeaway. Simply beautiful. He must've busted his butt to achieve something so beautiful like that.
For real man, not every one can catch a ball and shoot it as quick as ray allen. But Kobe shoots with defenders all over him and that fadeway makes me drool honestly. I'm a really good shooter when its comes to ball and I've imitated my shooting form from Kobe and its worked. Although your shot won't look exactly like Kobe's, his technique is what matters. The way your shooting form looks all depends on your arm length, size of your hand, and the extent your elbow can bend. To me, Kobe is GOAT.
There shot does not look at sexy as Kobe's does. Kobe has the best stroke in history and Lebron's is the ugliest. MJ is in between, so why the hell would there videos be there. Kobe is a better shooter than both.
maybe at the three but mid range i say equal to mj bc they were/are both freaking amazing shooters from the mid range but kobe has prettier form no doubt and lebron a long way to go
i lo0ve bron bron, but he is in top 25 in todays game, but after rest, he is in top 10. watch game one of the playoffs after Detroit, any series, makes a lot of great shots....
kobe is undoubtedly the best player in the game now...but yall done hit your head on kobe's sack to many times to say he's better than jordan. mike was/is the greatest athlete of our generation. and tiger coming in second. get right dummies
Your generation maybe. Things tend to develop. Basketball is a good example. Jordans era, everything was easy. He did whatever he wanted to. Now, thing are muh tougher. Teams play D. Defensive rules are completely different
try playing golf and deal with the mental and physical factors you couch potato lol. for you to say tiger is not an athlete is like saying kobe can't shoot a fadeaway. get a damn clue. im not detracting kobe of his great abilitties, just saying mj is incomparable, comprende ingles? lol
grat Ahtletes run, and move more than their arms and bend their knees on time every 15 minutes. Tiger Woods is the best in what he does. But not a great athlete.
Sim, compreendo ingles, burro do caralho, e tu, percebes Portugues? Bem me parecia.
Mj played in a different time. In nowadays game, he wouldnt be so good. In jordans era, Kobe would be like 100000000 better than Jordan. In Kobes era, he is just 3 or 4 times better.
Lol Kobe would be better than Jordan in his era?? Sure thing buddy. I'm sorry but Kobe is top 5 and Jordan is tops. Get real. Am I really arguing about who the greatest nba player of all time is?? MJ=incomparable. Kobe is great, not the greatest.
You get real. stop sucking Mjs cock. He was good in a time were Kwame Brown would also be good. Bryant owns Mj any day of the week. Mj is the past. Kobe is the future :)
In my opinion, Kobe will be better than MJ at the end of his career. Kobe (31 soon), is still playing at a high level. He missed 7 games in the last 4 years, 4 of them were suspensions. He's been playing a lot of basketball, and he's finally gonna get some rest. He will come back re-energized and will most likely win the MVP due to the Lakers success and having a chance at the best record. Another dynasty awaits and I am very excited. This IS definitely Kobe's chance to become better than MJ.
MJ just had the luxury of playing in a weak era with weak players. Isolation all day and the defenses weren't that advanced. Look now, the players are better, the teams are better, more competition. No matter how many defenders you throw on Kobe, the result stays the same. 2005-2007, Kobe was an absolute MONSTER at scoring and I simply could not believe the things he did and the things I saw. I am truly fortunate to witness such a great player.
Being the go-to guy on the team reduces your % as well. Not just having to take the final shot, but the final shot of every quarter, and even every possession when the shot clock is going down... that can make you take 5-10 tough shots a game. MJ and Kobe can take those shots and hit them. for evidence, look how Pippen's FG% went down after jordan retired, he then had to take all those forced shots. pure shooters often don't have to take them
whoever hates on kobe regardless of his game winning FG% should definitely suck a donkey dick, catch aids from a monkey, fuck their mother and shoot themselves in the head. He is the best basketball player to play the game since Michael Fucking Jordan who was the best player in his prime so fuck whoever hates on KOBE MOTHAFUCKIN BRYANT The best TO EVER DO IT SINCE THE GREAT 23 MR. MICHAEL JORDAN
capslock. it's like 2 centimeters away from your fucking A key. press it, please.
anyways, his FG% is average/above average, Jordan's was good..like, center/power forward quality good. Kobe also shoots bricks when it counts..his finals FG% is 40%, that's awful. His game winning shot FG% is less than 20% when I checked in 2008 while Jordan's is above 50%
lol spam SolidSnakeRules comments, he likes to comment bullshit about kobe in every single video. get a life nigga, if u dont like something dont watch it
Kobe is the best player in the world hands down. Also this man averaged 32 points a game in the finals 09 nearly 6 rebounds and 7 assists. AND 4 blocks in Game 5?? Note: All this and he a shooting guard. You gotta give this man his props he went to Orlando and beat the Magic AT Orlando...He didnt need Shaq. Kobe: NBA Championships: 4 AND his NBA Finals MVP. He is straight out amazing he is creative, unique and his shooting ability exceeds average guys. Kobe is truly the best not based on rings...
i absolutley love kobes fadeway jumper. watch his legs its awesome, his right leg always has like a kick. ive practiced his fadeway all the time. it helps alot i use it like 80% of the time in our pickup games at our community gym.
kobe and larry bird are my favorite players and shooters
nw thats the thing that makes kobe great, maybe the best ever because hes nt a pure shooter but hes still in the top 3 shooters in the nba... doesnt that make him amazing?
i think kobe is a mix of pure shooter and scorer, like a scorer that is extremely good at shooting ....he can make unbeleivable shots from mid range and 3 point line
Kobe is a great shooter, yes, and he is better than most of the mentioned players at shooting the ball from any given spot on the floor. However, his game doesn't revolve around his shot exclusively and his form isn't totally text book perfect. There is another video on YouTube where Kobe shows you that he doesn't like to bring his elbow all the way in when shooting, and instead uses his head as his line and balance point. Terrific shooter & legendary player yes, text book perfect form, no.
difficulty does not make a shot better. You don't get extra points for a harder shot. This is why Kobe's long range fade aways don't really compare to Jordan's midrange fades or guys like Olajuwon, Chamberlain and Garnett who would use the fade as it was meant to be used, as a close range shot. You judge a shot solely by rate of success, the rest doesn't matter, and Kobe's fade aways don't compare to the best of the best in that category, no matter how good they look.
you def do get an extra point for a longer shot which is considered harder bcuz it leaves more room for error. u say difficulty of a shot does not make the shot better but i think its makes the player better. and kobe def has a strong mid range game. his best shot is right pinch post...thats mid-range and its def comparable to mj's mid-range. all in all kobes range exceeds mjs thats my point and im def not a mj hater lol. but dude, kobe's shot doesn't compare to the best? r u jus tryna be silly?
it doesn't make the player better, it makes him more of a liability. watch them play, there's no comparison. it also doesn't compare to some others who take BETTER SHOTS and MAKE MORE OF THEM because of it. He takes harder shots, and makes less shots, and scores less points than Jordan. That's being worse.
kobe taking and making hard shots doesn't make him better as a player? that's interesting you beleive that. do u think the most prolific scorer in the league jus takes difficult shots jus to do it? if you watched enough of kobe you would know that most of his shots arent even difficult. its mostly the move he executed prior to the shot that is difficult and unmatched by players past and present.
I watch plenty of Kobe. Well, actually I only watch Kobe in the playoffs, but 90% of the shots in this video are stupid shots, and I guarantee you he misses more of these than he makes. That's what I've seen at least.
i could tell from ur comments u didnt know what ur talking about- only watching him in the playoffs lol. u didnt have to admit to every1. 90% stupid shots? u couldn't even point out the 10% u feel r good. im assured it wouldnt even make sense to urself if u did. i know u too well. another mj lover who happens to be watching a kobe video and leaves comments trying to assure every1 that kobe will never be as good as mj...thats all u
The ones that are good are in 1 on 1 situations where he's got a good enough shot to take. For MJ, this was the only way to shoot. I only mentioned MJ as a real scorer, someone who knows not to take stupid shots. Kobe's FG% in the finals is 40%, did you know that? That's garbage. I'm talking about the shots he takes while double teamed, fading away, from long range.. he makes like 2 out of 10 of these and everyone's amazed by watching the highlights
whoa did u really even watch Innate Ability 3? every shot in this video besides one was in 1 on 1 play. the one play where he was doubled ended up as a single defended shot. you can refer to 2:13. and there only was a late defender rotating over in 3 of them but it was already too late for kobe to even flench. so from ur 1st sentence u feel these are all good shots?..didn't i tell you that your explanation would even make sense?
1 on 1, but he doesn't really beat his opponents here to get a good shot, he just shoots a contested shot which is stupid. I feel that most of these are stupid shots because he is shooting contested long range shots.
Also, Ray Allen isn't consistent at all. Shooting a higher percentage and scoring more points means you're simply a better scorer, PERIOD. Also, I know you don't wanna talk about Jordan vs Kobe when it comes to making plays..lol try 6 finals MVPs, son.
well this isn't really a kobe vs jordan discussion I just don't get how you can be amazed by a player taking stupid shots. Sure they are spectacular on the rare occasion that they go in, but to praise him as a player, saying he is amazing, after watching him take these shots is a bit ridiculous.
praise? that's a bit of an exaggeration don't you think? If loyal fans are making mixes of their favorite player then let it be. In my opinion this isn't about Kobe's skill, its personal. You just don't like him, and I respect your opinion. I on the other hand appreciate that he's in the league making it more exciting and fun to watch. I like his style that's all.
any1 can look up stats. becuase u dont know enuff abt kobe u fail to realize that he has a pure shooters mentality, that is the point of this video that you havent seen yet. shooting a high percentage doesn't equate to wins. making the correct plays at the correct times equates to wins. kobe makes the plays..finals mvp. did u know ray allen, who many feel is the best shooter in the game today, shot less than 40% these past playoffs? i guess he took stupid shots..
u feel putting a hand in kobe's face makes it contested? u can do much more than raise a hand in his face to contest it. u don't know enough abt him or this video to make valid comments: 90% bad shots, 1 on 1, contested shots..all bs. if u knew him u would know that these shots arent rare. these are shots he makes every game, save for maybe 1 or 2. simply, u dont know these things becuase u dont watch him. this is nothing out of the ordinary for ppl who know kobe bryant.
I do watch him in the playoffs when it matters and Kobe is really more of a facilitator now. 90% of the shots in this video are bad shots, and most of these miss. you don't know what I know, kid. to be a great scorer you have to shoot a good % otherwise you're just jacking shots which is what he's doing in this vid
"when" u watch him isn't the point in this situation, the point is "if" or even "how much" u watch kobe and know his game. who doesn't know he's more of a facilitator now?? 90% bad shots- there r 30 shots..ur saying 27 of them are bad. i would give u much respect if u could point each of the 27 out and have valid reasoning supporting. u already tried and said the only good ones r on 1 on1 play and i had to watch the video for u to let u know that each shot was from 1 on 1 play. school me
First off, 90% was just a rough estimate based off of my recollection of my first viewing. Shot 1: can't see what's going on, shot 2: hand right in his face, long range, shot 3: again, hand right in his face, no reason to shoot that. he failed to dupe his defender. Shot 4: nice, shot 5: instead of running an offense he chooses a contested long range J..dumb shot. shot 6: again he failed to dupe his defender even with the jab step, shot 7: contested leaner with possible help D. could have
drawn the defender in and passed to the open man. shot 8: a very nice looking move but he didn't dupe his defender at all. not that bad of a shot but still not necessary. shot 9: contested, no attempt to outrun his slower defender(pierce), just basically chooses the difficult shot. I watched him fizzle in the finals vs the Celtics because of this type of shooting. Shot 10: double teamed and heavily contested, but he jacks it anyway. shot 11: guy right in his grill, no attempt to create distance
shot 12: he has Artest right on him and takes the shot. I guess Artest didn't expect such a stupid shot. shot 13: 2 pump fakes without moving, didn't fake his defender out, should have been a blocked shot, but the defender failed. shot 14: wtf is this shit..he pump fakes when he has the open shot and when that fails he tries a double pump hanger from 3? garbage shot. shot 15: another contested leaner, defender didn't even jump though but Kobe couldn't have predicted that, still a dumb shot.
shot 16: double teamed turnaround fadeaway from 3, shot jacker. shot 17: no attempt to create distance, this falls on the defender's inadequacy. shot 18: same exact thing except it was defended better. shot 19: yet another instance. shot 20: fails to dupe ends up taking a contested shot. shot 21: now this is actually good shot selection he catches with the correct hand and rolls directly into the shot with good form. it was defended well but it was a good shot to take
shot 22: also a good shot for the same reasons. shot 23: his teammate's defender defended well off of the pick, and that's why he should have went for the roll. shot 24: again a good defender is right on him and he takes the contested 3 with no attempt to create space or get a better shot. shot 25: Not necessarily bad shot selection because someone came out of nowhere but he was still double teamed. shot 26: he saw the double team and took the contested shot. bad shot. shot 27: stupid shot
selection but his defender didn't jump or even put a hand in there. shot 28: can't tell what's going on. shot 29: not a bad shot because of his proximity to the basket, he rolled the wrong way though. Oh wait, he had defenders on both sides of himself. bad shot. shot 30: the shot isn't shown
Kobe's pull-up jumper is his signature shot. It's his go to move. You wouldn't say Kareem's sky-hook or MJ's fade-away was a bad shot even though hands were in his their face. They practice their signature moves knowing hands will be up near their face and by the ball. If Kobe can release the ball before the defenders hand is near the ball then it is a good shot.
I wouldn't say that because those are both post moves shot in close proximity to the basket, and they are solid shots. As for that last sentence, you couldn't be more wrong. Come back with a basketball IQ
Kareem did sky hooks from 20 feet. Mj did fade-aways from 25ft. ITs the same distance, only he's facing them. You're wrong, shutup fagget. Just kidding but you are wrong,.
Don't tell me what they did, dipshit. I watched them play and MJ's favorite position was in the post, 1 on 1 with his man. Otherwise he would shake his man for a jumper or in his younger years he'd just dunk. Kareem would post up with his strength then use the sky hook going towards the paint. MJ rarely took shots beyond 20 feet of any kind, and Kareem barely ever did. You're wrong, dude. I have a huge collection of their games, and you've obviously just seen highlight vids and mixes
The distances were exagerated but the point is Kobe's pull-up jumper is his go to move. If someone else other than Kareem did a sky-hook then yes you would say bad shot. Same goes for Kobe, they aren't bad shots because he has perfected that technique.
If you watch the games, those are the shots he usually misses. I wouldn't say bad shot if that person scored consistently with it like Kareem did, but no one else except Mutombo does it.
You can't just say things and hope they are true. To most people on here maybe you can but i had NBA league pass the past 2 season so i've watched over 200 Lakers games.. So if we are talking about the past 2 years you can't really tell me what shots Kobe usually misses because i've literally seen every single one lol
lol tell me if that shit worked in the finals vs the celtics last year..it fucking didn't. any good defensive team shuts that down and they didn't even have to double him..ever...just used Ray Allen mostly, with some Pierce and Posey alternating. I saw him brick that crap over and over
I don't mean literally perfect. It's an exaggeration of sorts meaning that they are the best at it and make the shot productive. MJ used the fadeaway to perfection during the second three peat but shot horrible percentages in those Finals.
how is scoring less being worse? as i recall kobe can score 50+ embarrass many ppl but hes learned to be MORE of a team player and passes the ball more often especially since they double team him sooo much because of his consistent shots he makes under little pressure hes a smart player smart enough to be a coach
thing is, he takes more shots than Jordan and still scores less. He scores less while trying to score more. I admit, he is very impressive and I never thought he would have this level of maturity that he's shown lately but holy shit dude when you're jacking more shots and scoring less points, you're worse.
Are you watching basketball? Seriously . Dont talk shit if ur being shit yourself . Kobe is more of a perimeter and 3 point scorer. MJ is not a great shooter but definitely a prolific scorer. Pure shooters are like Peja, Reggie Miller, Ray Allen and many other guys . Please watch the NBA or i'll shoot ur ass .
Kobe is the best perimeter player of all time, put a hand in his face from 3 point land and hell still make it, Peja cant make a 3 to save his life anymore, and ray allen and reggie miller cannot just elevate over their defenders to shoot, they are spot up shooters, they were not able to shoot well while defended
Stats don't lie. Shooters make field goals as many as their attempts. Don't you notice in the past few years? His FGM-A are like 13/30 average per game. Shooters are not players who can shoot the ball with hands in their faces because i can definitely shot the ball with a foot on my face. Thing is shooters are those players who can make as many shots so as their attempts whether you shoot with a hand or shaq's ass on your face .
Well dude, if there's a hand in his face he shouldn't be shooting. Don't base your dumbass opinion on a compilation of successful attempts. instead, watch the games and see how many of these stupid shots he misses.
There's also no way he was better than Jordan perimeter or otherwise because he's liable to jack a stupid ass shot. Check the stats year by year, their 3pt% never differs by more than 2-3%, and when Kobe's % goes down his attempts go UP, while Jordan is the other way around(smart)
first of all go fuck yourself, before you say "dumbass opinion" alright? MJ would also jack up those "stupid shots" thats why they are the best to ever play the game...if they never attempted those how could they be separated from others...fucking asshole...and i forgot....he torched Magic in 5 games so go die.
lol..you get separated from others by scoring consistently. MJ actually didn't take contested jumpers unless the clock was winding down. He drove the lane mostly and took jumpers when he was 1 on 1 with his man. The result? HIGHER % SHOTS. Intentionally taking a bad shot is stupid.
actually last year he could have went, but he decided not to because of his dislocated finger... that's why he didn't play in the all star game last year
he was offered to go in it i think two years ago, but he opted out and dirk took his place, but same here, i want to see him in the three point contest
actually last year he could have went, but he decided not to because of his dislocated finger... that's why he didn't play in the all star game last year
i actually think the dude at the start was right kobe is not a PURE shooter.
PURE shooters rely on their shooting for their points, like ray allen for example, he and kobe are the two best shooters in the nba but ray allen gets most his point from his shooting ability which is why you see him with 10 point games if his shooting form is off-example is when he went 1-12 against chicago. Kobe however can drive to the basket if is shooting doesnt catch. that is why kobe does not count as a pure one.
yea, ur right. Kobe is a great shooter but doesn't only have to shoot to score. So, I guess kobe isn't a pure shooter, but his shooting ability is greater than most of the pure shooters in the nba
the funny thing about this video is that these shots arent even the hardests shots hes ever taken, compare them to the shots he gets fouled on the 3 point and clutch shots... impossible 3v1 fade aways.. and much more amazing bs lol <3 kobe
When you put kobes name next to the PURE shooters the guy mentioned he doesnt fit in, im a kobe fan and i think he is the best in the NBA, but he isnt a pure shooter so i think the guy was right in not saying kobe bryant as a pure shooter. (but kobe is the best...)
The only reason you say that though is because Kobe has the ability to get to the rim, not like he used to of course, but he still can. Kobe is probably the most balanced player to ever play and is most definitely a pure shooter these days.
dirks a bitch he could shooot but hes fucking 7 feet tall he tries to play like a fucking gaurd he does fade aways when hes right next to the basket.. he plays like a fucking fagget
lol @ 1:50 . lucky for artest, he'll never have to be on that side of the equation again :D

kobe is undoubtedly the best player in the game now...but yall done hit your head on kobe's sack to many times to say he's better than jordan. mike was/is the greatest athlete of our generation. and tiger coming in second. get right dummies

athlete? Tiger who? woods? Athlete? NO FUCKING WAY
afonsoramos 2 years ago 2
Your generation maybe. Things tend to develop. Basketball is a good example. Jordans era, everything was easy. He did whatever he wanted to. Now, thing are muh tougher. Teams play D. Defensive rules are completely different
afonsoramos 2 years ago 2
try playing golf and deal with the mental and physical factors you couch potato lol. for you to say tiger is not an athlete is like saying kobe can't shoot a fadeaway. get a damn clue. im not detracting kobe of his great abilitties, just saying mj is incomparable, comprende ingles? lol

lol he is not an athlete, im sorry there is no stamina needed....hes as much of an athlete as nascar drivers...

grat Ahtletes run, and move more than their arms and bend their knees on time every 15 minutes.
In Kobes era, he is just 3 or 4 times better.
afonsoramos 2 years ago
Lol Kobe would be better than Jordan in his era?? Sure thing buddy. I'm sorry but Kobe is top 5 and Jordan is tops. Get real. Am I really arguing about who the greatest nba player of all time is?? MJ=incomparable. Kobe is great, not the greatest.

This IS definitely Kobe's chance to become better than MJ.
peterdabest94 2 years ago 6
MJ just had the luxury of playing in a weak era with weak players. Isolation all day and the defenses weren't that advanced. Look now, the players are better, the teams are better, more competition. No matter how many defenders you throw on Kobe, the result stays the same. 2005-2007, Kobe was an absolute MONSTER at scoring and I simply could not believe the things he did and the things I saw. I am truly fortunate to witness such a great player.

afonsoramos 2 years ago
Being the go-to guy on the team reduces your % as well. Not just having to take the final shot, but the final shot of every quarter, and even every possession when the shot clock is going down... that can make you take 5-10 tough shots a game. MJ and Kobe can take those shots and hit them. for evidence, look how Pippen's FG% went down after jordan retired, he then had to take all those forced shots. pure shooters often don't have to take them
pheeeel17 2 years ago
whoever hates on kobe regardless of his game winning FG% should definitely suck a donkey dick, catch aids from a monkey, fuck their mother and shoot themselves in the head. He is the best basketball player to play the game since Michael Fucking Jordan who was the best player in his prime so fuck whoever hates on KOBE MOTHAFUCKIN BRYANT The best TO EVER DO IT SINCE THE GREAT 23 MR. MICHAEL JORDAN
lilboyblue1727 2 years ago 4
Why do you base greatness on game winning shots? If a great player has less winning shots, that means the games aren't close.
phirephaxL 2 years ago
capslock. it's like 2 centimeters away from your fucking A key. press it, please.
anyways, his FG% is average/above average, Jordan's was good..like, center/power forward quality good. Kobe also shoots bricks when it counts..his finals FG% is 40%, that's awful. His game winning shot FG% is less than 20% when I checked in 2008 while Jordan's is above 50%

Terrific shooter & legendary player yes, text book perfect form, no.
undyingtruth 2 years ago 4
yea i understand the concept of perfect is only theoretical but who has a better looking shot that kobe? not to mention the difficulty and results.
nikekid11 2 years ago
difficulty does not make a shot better.
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
you def do get an extra point for a longer shot which is considered harder bcuz it leaves more room for error. u say difficulty of a shot does not make the shot better but i think its makes the player better. and kobe def has a strong mid range game. his best shot is right pinch post...thats mid-range and its def comparable to mj's mid-range. all in all kobes range exceeds mjs thats my point and im def not a mj hater lol. but dude, kobe's shot doesn't compare to the best? r u jus tryna be silly?
nikekid11 2 years ago
it doesn't make the player better, it makes him more of a liability. watch them play, there's no comparison. it also doesn't compare to some others who take BETTER SHOTS and MAKE MORE OF THEM because of it. He takes harder shots, and makes less shots, and scores less points than Jordan. That's being worse.
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
kobe taking and making hard shots doesn't make him better as a player? that's interesting you beleive that. do u think the most prolific scorer in the league jus takes difficult shots jus to do it? if you watched enough of kobe you would know that most of his shots arent even difficult. its mostly the move he executed prior to the shot that is difficult and unmatched by players past and present.
nikekid11 2 years ago
I watch plenty of Kobe. Well, actually I only watch Kobe in the playoffs, but 90% of the shots in this video are stupid shots, and I guarantee you he misses more of these than he makes. That's what I've seen at least.
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
i could tell from ur comments u didnt know what ur talking about- only watching him in the playoffs lol. u didnt have to admit to every1. 90% stupid shots? u couldn't even point out the 10% u feel r good. im assured it wouldnt even make sense to urself if u did. i know u too well. another mj lover who happens to be watching a kobe video and leaves comments trying to assure every1 that kobe will never be as good as mj...thats all u
nikekid11 2 years ago
The ones that are good are in 1 on 1 situations where he's got a good enough shot to take. For MJ, this was the only way to shoot. I only mentioned MJ as a real scorer, someone who knows not to take stupid shots. Kobe's FG% in the finals is 40%, did you know that? That's garbage. I'm talking about the shots he takes while double teamed, fading away, from long range.. he makes like 2 out of 10 of these and everyone's amazed by watching the highlights
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
whoa did u really even watch Innate Ability 3? every shot in this video besides one was in 1 on 1 play. the one play where he was doubled ended up as a single defended shot. you can refer to 2:13. and there only was a late defender rotating over in 3 of them but it was already too late for kobe to even flench. so from ur 1st sentence u feel these are all good shots?..didn't i tell you that your explanation would even make sense?
nikekid11 2 years ago
1 on 1, but he doesn't really beat his opponents here to get a good shot, he just shoots a contested shot which is stupid. I feel that most of these are stupid shots because he is shooting contested long range shots.
Also, Ray Allen isn't consistent at all. Shooting a higher percentage and scoring more points means you're simply a better scorer, PERIOD. Also, I know you don't wanna talk about Jordan vs Kobe when it comes to making plays..lol try 6 finals MVPs, son.
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
this isn't necessary.
tonytouch566 2 years ago
well this isn't really a kobe vs jordan discussion I just don't get how you can be amazed by a player taking stupid shots. Sure they are spectacular on the rare occasion that they go in, but to praise him as a player, saying he is amazing, after watching him take these shots is a bit ridiculous.
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
praise? that's a bit of an exaggeration don't you think? If loyal fans are making mixes of their favorite player then let it be. In my opinion this isn't about Kobe's skill, its personal. You just don't like him, and I respect your opinion. I on the other hand appreciate that he's in the league making it more exciting and fun to watch. I like his style that's all.
tonytouch566 2 years ago
any1 can look up stats. becuase u dont know enuff abt kobe u fail to realize that he has a pure shooters mentality, that is the point of this video that you havent seen yet. shooting a high percentage doesn't equate to wins. making the correct plays at the correct times equates to wins. kobe makes the plays..finals mvp. did u know ray allen, who many feel is the best shooter in the game today, shot less than 40% these past playoffs? i guess he took stupid shots..
nikekid11 2 years ago
he still does it better than anyone in the league...end of story
8MunchenBayern8 2 years ago
lol yeah today..there's a reason they call the midrange game a lost art
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
u feel putting a hand in kobe's face makes it contested? u can do much more than raise a hand in his face to contest it. u don't know enough abt him or this video to make valid comments: 90% bad shots, 1 on 1, contested shots..all bs. if u knew him u would know that these shots arent rare. these are shots he makes every game, save for maybe 1 or 2. simply, u dont know these things becuase u dont watch him. this is nothing out of the ordinary for ppl who know kobe bryant.
nikekid11 2 years ago 2
I do watch him in the playoffs when it matters and Kobe is really more of a facilitator now. 90% of the shots in this video are bad shots, and most of these miss. you don't know what I know, kid. to be a great scorer you have to shoot a good % otherwise you're just jacking shots which is what he's doing in this vid
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
"when" u watch him isn't the point in this situation, the point is "if" or even "how much" u watch kobe and know his game. who doesn't know he's more of a facilitator now?? 90% bad shots- there r 30 shots..ur saying 27 of them are bad. i would give u much respect if u could point each of the 27 out and have valid reasoning supporting. u already tried and said the only good ones r on 1 on1 play and i had to watch the video for u to let u know that each shot was from 1 on 1 play. school me
nikekid11 2 years ago
First off, 90% was just a rough estimate based off of my recollection of my first viewing. Shot 1: can't see what's going on, shot 2: hand right in his face, long range, shot 3: again, hand right in his face, no reason to shoot that. he failed to dupe his defender. Shot 4: nice, shot 5: instead of running an offense he chooses a contested long range J..dumb shot. shot 6: again he failed to dupe his defender even with the jab step, shot 7: contested leaner with possible help D. could have
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
drawn the defender in and passed to the open man. shot 8: a very nice looking move but he didn't dupe his defender at all. not that bad of a shot but still not necessary. shot 9: contested, no attempt to outrun his slower defender(pierce), just basically chooses the difficult shot. I watched him fizzle in the finals vs the Celtics because of this type of shooting. Shot 10: double teamed and heavily contested, but he jacks it anyway. shot 11: guy right in his grill, no attempt to create distance
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
shot 12: he has Artest right on him and takes the shot.
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
shot 16: double teamed turnaround fadeaway from 3, shot jacker. shot 17: no attempt to create distance, this falls on the defender's inadequacy. shot 18: same exact thing except it was defended better. shot 19: yet another instance. shot 20: fails to dupe ends up taking a contested shot. shot 21: now this is actually good shot selection he catches with the correct hand and rolls directly into the shot with good form. it was defended well but it was a good shot to take
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
shot 22: also a good shot for the same reasons. shot 23: his teammate's defender defended well off of the pick, and that's why he should have went for the roll. shot 24: again a good defender is right on him and he takes the contested 3 with no attempt to create space or get a better shot. shot 25: Not necessarily bad shot selection because someone came out of nowhere but he was still double teamed. shot 26: he saw the double team and took the contested shot. bad shot. shot 27: stupid shot
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
selection but his defender didn't jump or even put a hand in there. shot 28: can't tell what's going on. shot 29: not a bad shot because of his proximity to the basket, he rolled the wrong way though. Oh wait, he had defenders on both sides of himself. bad shot. shot 30: the shot isn't shown
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
Kobe's pull-up jumper is his signature shot. It's his go to move. You wouldn't say Kareem's sky-hook or MJ's fade-away was a bad shot even though hands were in his their face. They practice their signature moves knowing hands will be up near their face and by the ball. If Kobe can release the ball before the defenders hand is near the ball then it is a good shot.
svendiggity 2 years ago
I wouldn't say that because those are both post moves shot in close proximity to the basket, and they are solid shots. As for that last sentence, you couldn't be more wrong. Come back with a basketball IQ
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
Kareem did sky hooks from 20 feet. Mj did fade-aways from 25ft. ITs the same distance, only he's facing them. You're wrong, shutup fagget. Just kidding but you are wrong,.
svendiggity 2 years ago
Don't tell me what they did, dipshit. I watched them play and MJ's favorite position was in the post, 1 on 1 with his man. Otherwise he would shake his man for a jumper or in his younger years he'd just dunk. Kareem would post up with his strength then use the sky hook going towards the paint. MJ rarely took shots beyond 20 feet of any kind, and Kareem barely ever did. You're wrong, dude. I have a huge collection of their games, and you've obviously just seen highlight vids and mixes
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
The distances were exagerated but the point is Kobe's pull-up jumper is his go to move. If someone else other than Kareem did a sky-hook then yes you would say bad shot. Same goes for Kobe, they aren't bad shots because he has perfected that technique.
svendiggity 2 years ago
If you watch the games, those are the shots he usually misses. I wouldn't say bad shot if that person scored consistently with it like Kareem did, but no one else except Mutombo does it.
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
You can't just say things and hope they are true. To most people on here maybe you can but i had NBA league pass the past 2 season so i've watched over 200 Lakers games.. So if we are talking about the past 2 years you can't really tell me what shots Kobe usually misses because i've literally seen every single one lol
svendiggity 2 years ago
lol tell me if that shit worked in the finals vs the celtics last year..it fucking didn't. any good defensive team shuts that down and they didn't even have to double him..ever...just used Ray Allen mostly, with some Pierce and Posey alternating. I saw him brick that crap over and over
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
And I saw him him use it to perfection against the Spurs, Jazz, and Nuggets in '08 and throughout the '09 playoffs.
JKFrazier 2 years ago

SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
i wasnt aware perfection was winning championships at the end of the day...
elmolovescookies 2 years ago
It isn't.
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
I don't mean literally perfect. It's an exaggeration of sorts meaning that they are the best at it and make the shot productive. MJ used the fadeaway to perfection during the second three peat but shot horrible percentages in those Finals.
JKFrazier 2 years ago
I watch him in the playoffs where it matters. lol the magic
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
how is scoring less being worse? as i recall kobe can score 50+ embarrass many ppl but hes learned to be MORE of a team player and passes the ball more often especially since they double team him sooo much because of his consistent shots he makes under little pressure hes a smart player smart enough to be a coach
owhare 2 years ago
thing is, he takes more shots than Jordan and still scores less.

Please watch the NBA or i'll shoot ur ass .
samgreat69999 2 years ago
Kobe is the best perimeter player of all time, put a hand in his face from 3 point land and hell still make it, Peja cant make a 3 to save his life anymore, and ray allen and reggie miller cannot just elevate over their defenders to shoot, they are spot up shooters, they were not able to shoot well while defended
8MunchenBayern8 2 years ago 3
Stats don't lie. Shooters make field goals as many as their attempts. Don't you notice in the past few years? His FGM-A are like 13/30 average per game. Shooters are not players who can shoot the ball with hands in their faces because i can definitely shot the ball with a foot on my face. Thing is shooters are those players who can make as many shots so as their attempts whether you shoot with a hand or shaq's ass on your face .
samgreat69999 2 years ago
Well dude, if there's a hand in his face he shouldn't be shooting. Don't base your dumbass opinion on a compilation of successful attempts. instead, watch the games and see how many of these stupid shots he misses.
There's also no way he was better than Jordan perimeter or otherwise because he's liable to jack a stupid ass shot. Check the stats year by year, their 3pt% never differs by more than 2-3%, and when Kobe's % goes down his attempts go UP, while Jordan is the other way around(smart)
SolidSnakeRules 2 years ago
first of all go fuck yourself, before you say "dumbass opinion" alright? MJ would also jack up those "stupid shots" thats why they are the best to ever play the game...if they never attempted those how could they be separated from others...fucking asshole...and i forgot....he torched Magic in 5 games so go die.
8MunchenBayern8 2 years ago
lol..you get separated from others by scoring consistently. MJ actually didn't take contested jumpers unless the clock was winding down. He drove the lane mostly and took jumpers when he was 1 on 1 with his man. The result? HIGHER % SHOTS. Intentionally taking a bad shot is stupid.

i actually think the dude at the start was right kobe is not a PURE shooter.
TheEaglesnumber4 2 years ago 5
yea, ur right. Kobe is a great shooter but doesn't only have to shoot to score. So, I guess kobe isn't a pure shooter, but his shooting ability is greater than most of the pure shooters in the nba

The only reason you say that though is because Kobe has the ability to get to the rim, not like he used to of course, but he still can. Kobe is probably the most balanced player to ever play and is most definitely a pure shooter these days.
