that tooth had an endo done on it, the old crown was a post core crown, i guess the reason they replaced it with implant coz the tooth failed..

the new implant is nice but the crown isn't aesthetic as it shouldve been

The tooth that was removed was an old implant. The dentist replace the metal post with a zirconia abutment. I don't understand how he made such a professional procedure and then took an impression with a mouth full of blood. The lab is gonna hate that.

...in the old days, it was vey common to place a screw inside the tooth root to improve the stability of the crown. Since the implants have excellent success and life expectancy, these type of "old" treatments are less and less common.

i am guessing a root fracture because post-core-crowns tend to have a high rate of root fracture and poor prognosis. in the long term an implant may be a wiser option
