  • Good R&B song

  • not bad!

  • are u kidding me, this song is really nice.

  • Just wanted to tell everyone that LOVE CITY GROOVE are back and their remake of this song is being released on 28th Aug 2011. It's BRILLIANT.

  • @cathylovecitygroove ...and what happened to it ??? coz it's November now and i don't hear shit ! lol

  • how did this not win!

  • cool, they've got curtains. what a hair style.

  • this was wrong song for uk

  • My sister and me can still sing every word of this song. Classic!

  • OMG france gave 12 points to this

  • sik one from back in the day. thx for posting

  • The problem is not fhe song at all it was a nice attempt from the so proudly arrogant UK who at the time believed that any piece of shit they sent was always better than everything else! The performance just didn't impress especially in the chorus live sung with orchestra just didn't work as much as it would in any live rap concert not for ESC I'm afraid, The studio version is way cooler than this nice attempt to bring something modern for that time. Just didn't work as well as they wanted ..

  • the retard that post the description needs to check his brains.,.

this was huge across europe in 1995

  • i liked this song much MUCH better than josh and andy a

  • this was shocking at the time and its not much better now

  • Nigger sheet

  • Yeah this crap but not as crap as Scooche's or Gemini's were.

  • Can't help but like this! XD

  • Haha my uncle wrote this song and is the guy on the piano!!! He still has that stupid hat aswell!!

  • the studio version is quite good...but the UK should have send Deuce instead (they were great at the national final)

  • Ah but Jonathan King had already decided on who he wanted to qualify (back when phone voting could be fixed without anyone noticing.....)

  • shame on your uncle

although his song is now not the worst one ever written for the uk entry to the ESC

  • but it is of the time i will admit that

  • @Bille994 Yes we definitely missed a trick by not choosing Deuce that year, far better song and would have appealed to the rest of the European voters a lot more than this pap.

  • It was actually very good song for that time of Eurovision in my opinion!

Too much ballads and typical ESC songs, and it was something fresh and in some way modern for this very boring and weak ESC (1995).

  • i can say two things for sure:

    1) you must be a motherfucking french

    2) you have no music taste.

    Salut!

  • OMG, I love this song!

  • omg i remember this one...was a good song man :0D

  • worst song ever?? what are you on about you fucking idiot? this is pure genius

  • am i the only one who thinks this song is brill and the performance is so funny and entertaining..shoulda won hands down

  • it was a good song for Eurovision I think

  • Oh no it's nearly as bad as Jemini.

    Not quite though

  • Firstly you've got to remember that Eurovision is not neccessarily a music competition even though there is singing in it. So no matter where this ended up or where any of the other entrants ended up is of no musical significance. The winners of this competition are never the best artists and their songs are never the best written, nor the best sang. It is more about politics than anything else.

As songs go, I thought this was the best UK entrant ever and easily the best in that years comp.

  • Don't understand why people slated this so much. True, this Eurovison version sounded terrible. But the polished TOTP version is still better than anything Will Smith ever made!

  • were austria and france high or something...they gave this 12 POINTS! how the hell did this manage 10th.

  • Is it true Love City Groove are about to release a new single??

  • This is the best entry we have had that I can remember.

  • This is so shit...OMG!! Deuce shoulda been our entry, hands down!!...man, this is bad...oh my word...cant wait to get to another video quick...aaaghhh!!

  • What's wrong with Andy Abraham?

  • 10th place is really good. Especially if you're bad.

  • i actually like this song.......

  • OMG I'm ashamed that we sent this! I'm all for cheesy acts but this is really bad!

  • There were so many rap entries in ESC nowadays:

    1995, 2001, 2006: United Kingdom (GBR)

    1999: Bosnia-Herzegovina (BIH)

    2009: Finland (FIN)

  • so bad, it's good!!!

  • undoubtably better than the queer boy who won this year. safe

  • This is not that bad... actually i like the campy "im not so serious just happy" kind of feel.

  • Why do the UK always fuck up in this comp? The only thing Britain do is pump out pop music horseshit 24 hours a day, and yet they still screw it all up. Got me.

  • This was probably the best entry we have put in, although it sounds ALOT better off CD single.

Worst ever? you live in cloud cookoo land..Gemini? scooch? all 100 x worse than this

  • they remind me of people you might see in the que at morrisons

  • This is how we should always enter Eurovision. I love that we try and find the worst song we can and put them in the competition, the whole thing is a joke. No-one from the UK watches it because its brilliant, we watch it because it's so terrible and Terry Wogan added to that enjoyment. It's sad that we tried to do well this year.

  • OMG -what were they thinking!!!

  • ahhh im remenissing [howeva u spell tht lol] i was 1 month old in may 95

  • it came 10th for united kingdom back in 95, it is nowhere near the worst i loved this bak in the day!!! think i even bought it!!x

  • Hahah, you just can't take the Eurovision seriously xD

  • the worst? no way its the best british entry in the eurovision ever it should have won

  • totally agree!

  • they must have been the best of the possible people - oh dear! just think!

  • what were we thinking of. Clutching at straws comes to mind! We have and can do better

  • EMBARRESSING

  • so is your spelling lol

  • Great song the only thing bad about this is your crap recording

  • This isn't THAT bad

  • Nothing beats Molvania's Zlad singing "Elektronik Supersonik".

  • how did i guess it would be uk

  • I enjoyed this tune sad I may be but this was too hip for eurovision.

  • pmsl... hip? it's f--king shat! Better than Daz Sampson tho!

  • TISH LATOT

  • Well, it is a bit Vanilla Ice. It doesn't have street credibility. But it wasn't that bad either. Besides I also like "Ice ice baby".

  • it can hardly be the worst it came 10th,maybe you ought to look at dustin the turkey or check norways entry in 1978 thats the worst ever performance

  • 10th was nothing for UK standards back then, it may be now, but what do you expect when you send shat like Daz Sampson?

  • i can see im a very small minority but i LOVE IT!!!

  • thats so bad i think i just got cancer

  • haha my uncle is the guy on the piano!!!

    lol

    he wrote this song !!!

  • This is shittingly shit.

It's almost as bad as Scooch, which deserved to nul-point. Damn you Malta for giving us twelve.

  • i hate almost alll english eurovision songs

  • Actually it's a United Kingdom entry (Wales and Scotland make up the UK as well was England), and in all honesty the UK has had a lot of the best songs the contest has ever seen, however, this is not one of them!

  • this is really no bad song ! one of the UK best ones with 1990 and 1996 ones !

  • how can this possibly be "the worst eurovision song" when so many people remember ith

  • My Uncle played the drums on this.

  • I love this. He is my uncle

  • Is she wearing the trousers to his suit jacket?

  • The U.k were ahead of everyone with this song. After this year all other countries tried to copy by entering a unique song

  • What bollocks some people talk. No one was copying this shat the following year. The UK certianly did not and decided to enter a good song.

  • quelle horreur (what a shame !!), et dire que la France a voté 12 points pour ce "garbage" !!!!! quelle honte !!

    D

  • My uncle is the guy that sings the chorus...such an embarrassment on the family....

  • grow up

  • i think uncle wouldnt be so happy to hear this from you...

    u r an embarrassment.....

  • quite frankly this was too good for eurovision - an excellent pop song- and they didn't know it!

  • Fuck everyone who said this was a bad song. I liked it!

  • @csplace init compared to the shit that comes out now. The lyrics are embarrassing but the hook rocks :)

  • lol this was way ahead of its time.

o and my uncle wrote this song (hes the one on the piano)so i take ne insults to heart.

anyone doubting me can quiz me if they want

  • i remember this..for some bizare reason this song poped in to my head the other day..totally random....thought i would search it on you tube and here it is.

    not bad for 1995

  • I really liked it actually!

  • God i hate this entry! one of the worst in the history of Eurovision!

  • this was absolutely fine and a breath of fresh air for the time!

  • The orchestra does it no justice :(

  • I actually liked this one! As shit ones go, this isn't the worst!

  • lol

  • god, this is just like...yuuuk!man..

  • I love it!! It has the essential hip hop rhythm of the mid 90s!!

  • This song is the MUTTS NUTS, it did extremely well in the charts and i well remember driving around that summer in my mums golf convertible with this playing as loud as the poor speakers could handle......ah those sweet sweet memories.....

  • our best eurovision entry ever,i loved this song.so many memories.

  • It was obviously a miscalculation to do a hop-hop track.

The chorus is memorable though. I seem to remember that this had a good run in the charts.

  • Omg.. this is when i first got into eurovision and i loved it at the time ! ha x

  • Compared to Scooch, this is the best. :) But the best UK entry was Javine's "touch my fire" I really like it because it has a sound that closer to my culture.

  • Actually it's the best ever Eurovision song.

  • Not of the UK's best, but still it's very nice. A really contemporary song with a great rhythm eventhough I'm not a fan of rap! I think Deuce with "I need you" deserved more to get to the final than this though...

  • This is nowhere near as bad as Scooch!

  • -.-

  • I think some of the comments on here are a bit harsh. I like it. And I normally hate rap.

  • A bit Harsh?!

I agree! I think some people forget that it was 1995 and there have been MUCH worse UK entries than this in more recent years! This song was good! The video quality of this copy doesn't do it justice! I remember when this came out! it was such a good feel good song! It wasn't meant to be a big hardcore rap track! I liked it! It is definitely one of our BETTER entries! ;-)

  • great singing

  • oh what crap hahaha!! 'in the morning when the sun shines down on my body'!!!! hahaha sorry ibut i can't beliebe this song got to your eurovision!!!

  • Rap was a new concept back then for the UK so they used it in Eurovision.

  • By the way, it's "down on YOUR body".

  • Oh grow up, it's not that funny ¬_¬

  • This song is used as the death penalty in some third world countrys. The prisoner is strapped into a chair and the song is played to them over and over again until they die of brain shut down, and asphyxiation

  • hey my uncle was in love city groove and i didnt even now that he made music!!! this is the first time ive heard it, not bad....

  • your uncle and the rest of the group did good - honestly they should have won that year

  • When Daz Sampson won the right to represent us in 2006, I was at least thankful that his rap was better than Love City Groove's.

I agree that this was one of our worst entries... but not quite as bad as our 1991 effort from....... VOMIT...... The Janus!

  • hahahahahahaha!

  • Excuse me we won in 1997 dumb ass

  • pathetic. shite.

  • And yet we wonder why we havent won in years! If our entrie is bad it will just be emarrising!

  • "Love was the target and you hit it"...!!

Utterly awful live performance but brave attempt at putting forward something different from the UK in this year.

If you listen to the recorded song it isn't actually that bad for the time!!!

  • A very brave attempt I think from us Brits. This was the last year that the whole soundtrack had to be orchestrated. Not the best medium for rap music.

  • this was a great song

  • i ment paul

  • best song ever. one at start lives at my house he is calld pual hardy

  • defo not the worst!!! One of the most original songs ever!!

  • prob the best euro song ever ye mad ppl!!!

  • this was ok , i liked it, but like daz sampson's brilliant 2006 effort it's rap based and eurovision doesn't seem to like that. shame

  • pure shite....

  • Am I the only person on this great planet of ours that actually liked this song ?

Live, it's atrocious, but recorded versions were great!!

  • No, Joe does.

  • This must be the worst ESC "song" ever! Supposed to be trendy and lacking any musical idea.

  • Actually, their performance here is better than I remember. Good for them.

  • They performed it (i.e. lip-synched it) better on TOTP.

It's not such a bad song, and was the first UK song for Europe to enjoy decent chart success since Bardo.

  • Utter shit! Burn in hell!

  • the single version sounds pretty decent, i worked in europe at the time and my friends from Germany, Holland and France thought that it was fantastic and couldn't believe it was a eurovision song!!!

  • i brought this single i love it lol (naff is always the best)

  • my brother is paul hardy the one who sings the main lyricks "In tho morning when the sunshines - he would be pleased to hear your comments.

  • how can you say that this is the worst song ever heard in the Eurovision? I actually think this song was TOO good for the Eurovision. It was not written in the same normal crappy blue-rinsey style that most EU-entry contests, oops, sorry, I mean Eurovision song contests contain

  • Come on Zlampovsky, you think Black Lace was better than this? And at least UK was there in 95, unlike some who were relegated the previous year:-)

  • Worst song ever? It isn't even the UK's worst. That honor goes to Daz Sampson! That aside, the verses may not be all that great, but the chorus is still very good and that's why this song was a top 10 hit in the sales charts. OK, sales doesn't always mean a good song (Daz also hit the charts) but come on, this is far from the worst song in the history of Eurovision!

  • I really like this song!

  • dont slag off the band my father helped create ok they were different but they certainly wernt the worst!

  • they certainly were!

  • Yes they were not the worse. This Years is even more crap!

  • I am A big Eurovision Fan and ive allways held a softspot for this one cos it was so bad but thats the great thing about eurovision is the bad songs are the best this years entry SCOOCH is Dire alot worse than this but still worth betting a quid on.

Personally i think the Best 07 entries are the UKRAINE ISRAEL and ANDORRA

  • because Touch My Fire's just so much better than this? :S

  • The worst... no.

    Trying to be different... yes.

This was the last year that playback was banned. Everything had to be played by the in-house orchestra. Nothing wrong with that if you are singing a nice ballard but rubbish if you are singing a contemporary rap song. If this had been one year later it would have sounded completely different.

  • Be fair to the song. It's a rap song. It doesn't suit orchestration. The rules back in 1995 were that all the music was played by the orchestra. It just doesn't work. If this song had been performed with playback then it might have been different. The rules change the year after and have got more and more lax since.

  • How can someone from Holland say this is the worst song in ESC history (havent you heard some Dutch entries). I agree this is poop BUT it aint the worst. The old bag you sent in '94 was worse. PS the audio on this is not good.

  • Just like someone Icelandic can say that this is the worst UK entry ever. And the Euro juries really blew it more than usual by giving this piece of crap two twelves and thirteen more points than Lonely Symphony of the year before.

  • Seth, you really have to get over this "Lonely Symphony" thing. In the UK, we experienced many years ago, this harsh euro trait of simply not voting for a superb song (probably) because of its country of origin. Because of this - the UK has really lost all confidence in the ESC. It really has become farcical now esp with the East Europeans voting for their neighbours regardless.

  • (cont)...The "live" performance was very bad ( orchestra not the best accompliment for rap!) recorded version was better ( but not great - this is the Eurovision!). I regret to say the UK will withdraw soon (& take our funding) cause we just are not interestd). Even though we are disliked in Europe our past pedigree cannot be disputed (5 wins, 15 2nd place, 28 top 5 placing) its such a shame - but its gonna happen.

  • Well, rap is REALLY not my thing. Eurovision ususally was an escape from that.

  • That is not a reason to watch the Eurovision - cause it is devoid of rap! And your answer avoids the reason for your "crazed affections" for a UK entry that the rest of Europe clearly disliked.

  • The rest of Europe "clearly disliked"? Pardon me, she got 10th, which I admit is a decent showing out of 25 entries. AI watch Eurovision 'cause I like the music. From "We will be free" to "Le dernier qui a parlé" to "Teriazoume" and I could go on and on.

  • Yes, but by your own admission you couldnt believe how "lonely symphony" didnt win. Therefore, by your standards, 10th was pretty low - by UK standards a flop. Although probably today we would take a 10th placing. So yeah I can feel I can say that Europe disliked it. Its irrelevant anyway - there is a debate in the UK whether we stay in or not. So soon we wont be sending any RAP, POP, or just plain crap. Au revior Europe.

  • It was great.. :-) should have won

  • Well, maybe not the best song that UK has send..But it came at 10th place! better than anyone the last years:-)

  • UK; coming out with this after your stunning 1994 entry, I can only say: what were you thinking? And to think that this got two twelves and thirteen more points than Frances did; I still can't believe that. The UK's very worst entry!

  • This is not as bad as everyone made it out to be...dont hate frenchie

  • This is one I'm going to disagree on, my friend :) Yeah, it's not that great (and, by rap standards, it's about as "hip" and edgy as Vanilla Ice...), and the performance certainly doesn't do it justice. However, I find it a pretty catchy tune with a summer vibe, and a refreshing attempt by the UK to bring on ESC the sound of what was really happening on the charts at the time (and you have to admit, Eurovision was very often quite far from that). A failed attempt perhaps, but still...

  • You 're right! But I don't believe they really failed - It's still a top10 position (and even more points than the 1994 UK entry). I like that song , it was a little bit strange then , but to be honest I really feel fed up with all the cheezy-pop songs every year... I.m.o 1995 was an exceptional year!

  • Poly kalh xronia pragmatika! :-) If nothing else, it had an amazing top-2 (Norway's Secret Garden and Spain's Anabel Conde, one of the few times I totally agree with the voting), plus a bunch of other interesting-to-great entries (among others, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Turkey, Portugal, Sweden and, yes, Greece too).

  • I must disagree with you on Portugal and Sweden - I found both endlessly boring. But apart from them (and Sweden's overratedness) and Malta for once not doing better (the one time when I wished they had), I agree that 1995 was one of the fairer years in the scoring. Apart from Poland and Bosnia-Herzegovina doing so badly, I mean.

  • ...and apart from both our countries not getting what they deserved (I understand it, though - as said, it was a strong year). I'm not that much into Bosnia - a bit too weird for my taste - but I see its appeal. Oh, and I must add Denmark to the mix - probably my #3 for the year, and one of their best entries ever, IMO. As for Portugal, I find it a very nice and cute song myself; then again, I do have a soft spot for their entries (the most underrated country in ESC history, without a doubt).

  • My brother is paul hardy from this song - who sings the main liricks "In the morning wheres the sunshine" thanks fgor a nice comment,

  • Comment removed

  • HEY whats going on - a debate about a UK entry and Im not involved!!!!!! Tasosk you are right (oh how I hate to say that! lol)I actually dislike this entry BUT the actual performance on the night was worse! The orchestra was not the best accompliment to RAP! and YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD! it was an attempt to bring contemporary tastes into esc. Thats something I have to applaud!
