Thank you for sharing your journey. I currently have psoriasis and am hoping I don't get struck with psoriatic arthritis. I'm not vlogging my journey but do have a blog at mewithpsoriasis(dot)com I hope to educate others about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. I will share your videos as a good resource. Take care of yourself and I hope this comment finds you feeling better rather than worse. (((hugs)))
hi, my name is mike, 25 yrs ago i started going to the local drs with psoriasis on my hands, it was so bad they had to wrapped up to keep the blood off, it wasnt till last year we found it, psoratic arthritis, i can totally relate to everything you said in your videos, i sighned up to you tube just to thank you for what your doing, people need to be aware of the sighns, i live with it everyday, its crippling, cane days, depression, then a good week here and there, anyway, your a cool guy, thanx
I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis about 3 years ago when I was 24. Like another comment stated, it advances fast. I have been on Methotrexate since diagnosis and it has really helped me. Its a hard drug to be on, but at least I am able to walk again!
I came down with the swelling in my fingers and toes about a year ago. Got mis-diagnosed, told me i had gout. Extreme pain, finally 4 doctors later they figured out i had sorriatic arthritis. Damage done, can no longer play guitar. The shots of humara work well, no pain in fingers, toes or hips. Some funky side effects though- mettalic taste in my mouth and nausea, feel spacy for a day or two after the shot. But it all goes away in a couple days. Definitely worth it to be able to walk again.
This disease advances fast. Been on arthrotec 7.5 for 5 months for this 2x per day. They take the edge off but its got some nasty side efffects. You gotta get this in its early stages.
I am in tears after watching this video.. Wow .. I have had psoriasis since I was 18 on my elbows and now its progressed to my left ankle and left thigh and the most shocking recently was my right hand. I have had trouble standing and using my hands on and off for several years and for the past 2 years my shoulder and neck feel as if they are permanently flexed and severe pain to the point where I move my head constantly to try and avoid it, but to no avail. I am just starting my journey ;(
@Maegpie10 I wish you all the luck on your jouney, its a tough one and the meds suck but once they start working things do get better as you'll see in my newer videos. Get on the meds asap and do what the docs tell you, things do get better.
@ Dibber Hail brother from america ... I have somthing called gout .. is psoriatic arthritis the same thing .. and last , does this affect the skin in any way?
@InLikeFlint999 Hi there Bro, the Psoriasis is to do with the skin, psoriatic arthritis can be mistaken for Gout but they are not the same thing. Only people with Psoriasis can get psoriatic arthritis. Hope that was of some help, thanks for the coment. H&R
Thanks for putting up the video mate, I suffer from psoriasis and just around a month ago i noticed major changes to my nails. A few on my toes have turned a bit yellow, theyre also pitted. I do not have the pain, but for around 4-5 years my joints have been starting to feel stiffer, they pop and crack, etc . Like I said no major pain, but stiffness, cracking and popping of the joints...Did you experience this before you got diagnosed?
@thabottomline pitted nails, stiffness in the joints, tenderness in the finger joints or when you squeeze them or knock them, i suggest you speak to your doc and ask if it's possible you could have the start of Psoriatic Arthritis. there is a link in the description of this video, check it out. If your doc say's yes and sends you to see a Rhumatologist make sure you follow what they tell you, the longer you leave treatment, the more damage gets done. Hope all turns out ok for ya, keep me posted.
Thanks for putting this up, i was just browsing through. I had never heard of this and only had psoriasis once all over, when i had a stressful period and luckily never again. My Mum has suffered with chronic arthiritis for about 30 years, so i can understand the pain issues you have and difficulty with things like you said such as a lighter. My Mum has bad reactions to pain meds so it can be vicious circle. Hopefully you get some relief from yours, best wishes.
@punkit743 Hi there Bro, if your mom has psoriasis, the chances are any of her children can develop it also. Stress is defo a factor and as you've already had it, it's something your gonna need to keep an eye on, also if you've had psoriasis you could also get this form of arthritis. My advise Bro is to keep your stress levels down and if you ever get pain in your hands or feet get it checked out straight away, better safe than sorry Bro. H&R
@DibbersPage ive had psoriasis since i was 10 im now 21,just the other day i woke up and my left foot had swollen up,i cant put any pressure on it an my right wrist is stiff.im at the doctors on friday but im shitting myself.am i gunna be able to get rid of the pain and do things like play football ever again??or will i have this for the rest of my life now??
@sonnyreddevil69 Best advise i can give is not to worry about it untill you know it's defo Psoriatic Arthritis, stress can make it a whole lot worse. When it comes to the pain, a lot of that will be due to the swelling around your tendons as Psoriatic Arthritis attacks those as well as the joints themselves. I cant say about playing football, what i can tell you is that if you damage the tendon anymore than it already is, you will have much bigger probs. Let me know how it goes. H&R
@DibbersPage i just had a blood test, but the doctor said that it looked like psoriatic arthritis and he said it can be treated.i can hardly move any of my toes on my left foot.and my wrist keeps clicking every time i move it.
@sonnyreddevil69 It's good that you caught it early, treatments are more effective then, unfortunaltly for me i have the rare form which only 5% get, mine has deformed my bones and is very distructive, i'll keep my fingers crossed for ya fella. I've added you as a friend and subbed ya channel, so your comments wont need approving and you can contact me direct for any advise. Some of the drugs they will put you on will have side effects of some sor but your body dose get used to them.
thanks for the seriousness of your message. I was diagnosed about 2 years ago when I had horrid pains in my fingers & big toes. I never thought I had a history of Psoriasis but the rheumatologist found a small bit behind one ear and INSIDE the other! I thought I was just allergic to shampoo! I've put off going on the shots. I've got Asymmetric psoriatic arthritis & when I have flares I feel it in my left hip, knee, ankle fingers & toes. Ice seems to help me a lot. I'm here for you! - Julie
@julie1anderson I was diagnosed about 18 months ago after many years of intense pain, like you i have small patch of Psoriasis the size of my thumb just behind my left ear and also in my ears and now on the sides of my feet, the arthritis is now having a field day on my right side. I dont have shots in the joints but i do have methotexate injections when it gets real bad, i also have to take 11 tablets a day as well as pain killers when i'm having a bad day.
Thanks for sharing this video with all of us my brother I feel for you I have some kind of health issues with myself and it is not pretty so for now you have a great weekend you have to make the best of it i no it really sucks not having your health but we have to do the best we can my brother TG out for now LH&R GFB
