  • I am an Episcopalian, and I see absolutely no problem with this. I live in New Orleans currently (I am a Loyola New Orleans Student) and if I want High Church, I can go to a High Church Episcopal service. There is nothing in the Bible that says that this sort of celebration of Christ is in poor form or a sin. Please look into St. Paul's views on Evangelicalism. As for dignity, where is the dignity in a divided Church and pretentious congregation. Last I checked, it isn't about how fancy you are.

  • This is appalling....what about classical Anglican worship to go along with traditional Anglican theology?? Apparently the via media is being transformed into the via pentecostalia..the great catholic tradition of liturgy being ground under the wheels of a militant pentecostalist/evangelicalism...God forbid that the new province embraces this totally and completely goes off the rails into this kind of "worship."

  • Amen! Praise God! There are Anglican churches that do know how to praise the LORD!!! I went to my cousin's Episcopalian Church one Sunday, and I understand the importance of tradition, but we Methocostals (lol) also understand the importance of worship and praise to Almighty God. His Word commands it, and I am glad to see an Episcopal Church that tries to develop a spirit of worship in their church.

  • YUK!!

I am sorry but I DID NOT JOIN A BAPTIST,PENTECOSTAL, OR EVEN A BIBLE CHURCH!

I joined the EPISCOPAL CHurch with its beautiful liturgy and DIGNITY!

THe same thing has happened in a lot of traditional churches these un churched people come in and want to make it a COme get HAppy worship, Well I have news for them I do get

If they want that kind of service why dont they go to that kind of church and leave the traditional church ALONE!!

  • How do you know it was "unchurched people" that came "in and want to make it a COme get HAppy worship". Is it possible that these Episcopalians just like to worship like this. Why do you care? Is it your church?

  • I love the formality of the worship in the Episcopal Church. But it can have a down side because one can hide one's self and commitment to God and Christ through this veil of formality. This more passionate music is about a personal relationship to God through Christ.

  • Heh.

  • The most hideous music and unseemly behavior I have ever witnessed in an Episcopal Church.

I guess that's "Ex-Episcopal Church" If you have truly gone away , please take the music and clapping with you.

  • I agree 1,000%. This behavior and music is an disgrace to the Episcopal Church. If you want to do this "stuff" go to a Pentecostal Church.

  • Good thing it's not an Episcopal church then, huh?

If the parishioners don't have a problem with it, then there really isn't a problem, is there?

I've been going to Truro since I was born, and I have always loved it when the worship got this way.

  • Wow, Looks like an Assembly of God.

  • BB, I still think it's great! You folks are blessed to be out of TEO, have the bishop and priest you have, and have this wonderful blended service in which to worship our Lord. Almost makes me want to move back to the state of my birth . . . carry me back to old Virginny!

  • That is really cool!! Yes us Anglicans know how to bring the house down huh? :)
