  • In the old days it was simple. White men, small amount of Latin americans, small amount of black. The Corps was a fighting machine. Today it's under control of white flag waving careerists. They are intentionally humiliating US military with racial integrity, racial quotas and many other things. It's a pity to see US military sink under the yoke of liberal bureaucracy.

  • LOL, "Eskimo pussy is mighty cold!" 0:40

  • im not gonna lie i expected this to be a big propaganda thing but i owe an apology it was very factual and unbias. much respect Russia :)

  • @MrMeineNamen Then you probably will like other videos of "Voennoe Delo" show about US military equipment and historic battles of US Army.

  • If we just sent R Lee Ermey to the Kremlin in his DI's uniform and have him get right into Khrushchev's face, the Cold War would have ended long ago.......

  • @VolunteerLS110 Khruschev was a pussy. He didn't serve in WWI. And he became one of three highest men in NKVD under communists regime. These three men were signing dozens of executions every day before the WW II. In WW II Kruschev was a commissar. Hardcore communist, but lousy strategist and tactician. Crushing defeat under Kharkov is his fault. Marshal Zhukov wasn't afraid to hardly criticize Kruschev's actions in WW II. But Khruschev was a leader of USSR when Zhukov was writing his memoirs...

  • @VolunteerLS110 ... so, this part of memoirs was censored.

The only son of Kruschev became a combat pilot in 1935 and became MIA in 1943.

So, I guess, as a real soldier Ermey would kick ass of this politician quite easily. :)

  • @BitnikGr Imagine the conversation. "You had best unfuck yourself and remove those missiles from Cuba or I will unscrew your head AND SHIT DOWN YOUR NECK!"

  • USMC nicknames were not their idea. "Leatherneck" refers to the leather strap worn around their necks while onboard sailing ships, to protect from cutlass slash wounds.

"Devil Dogs" came from captured German intelligence reports in WW1.

  • The USMC doesn't have its own fleet. They serve on the Navy's warships.

  • @MrMarktheJarhead Doesn't USMC have landing ships, which belongs strictly to their command? Or those landing ships are under command of Navy anyway?

  • @BitnikGr I'm pretty sure they're supervised by the USN.

  • @MrMarktheJarhead Ok. Thank you. :)

  • This program must be from the early to mid 90s at best. But it is what it is.

  • @F15C The movie was in 1987. The program was in 2004.

  • ...translation of the movie title "Full Metal Jacket" was just awfully wrong....

  • @nemo2000100 Really? Could you make it any better?

  • 8:53

Hawaii? We've been fighting in Hawaii?

  • @Pellicius Pearl Harbor...

  • @BitnikGr

He said recently. I thought he meant within the past twenty years.

  • @Pellicius I don't know exactly... This point about Hawaii has raised questions from others as well... very doubtful what exactly narrators meant by that.

  • Actually, the Marines are widely thought of as an independent branch, but they are in fact part of the navy. When Marines become officers, they can enter into NROTC (Naval Reserve Officer Training Course) and take it all four years of college. They take this course with navy cadets and can choose between the Navy and Marine Corps.

  • this cant be taken seriously ...at all

  • @TJkiwiOWEG What would you like to see or what would you expect to see in a Russian documentary tribute to USMC?

  • @BitnikGr i would like to see them do better research.they had images of sailors and shit

  • "I just want my M14" they sing, looks like the M16 is not powerful enough for their needs:)

  • Love the theme music from Quake II playing in there :D (About 2 min in to the program)

  • ROFLMAO full metal jacket?

  • @NPCwars Yeap. By Stanley Kubrick.

  • @BitnikGr XDD I love that movie!

  • @NPCwars Have you seen "Jarhead" lately? It is about modern Marine going through training and going to Iraq in 91. Nice movie too. It is almost a clone of "FMJ" with events 30years later :)

FMJ is already classic of course!

  • @BitnikGr Ah unfortunately not. But I did buy the dvd so I'm probably going to watch it on the plane. XD Well great channel man. You've got lots of good videos, I will subscribe.

  • @NPCwars You are welcome!

    Enjoy your trip.

  • @Sturmmann My asses had never hurt since M16A4 covered it well, but YOUR asses hurts 'cause the M4 jams on ya and you then got shot with a Taliban's AK. What such a pain in the ass.

  • @HandzarMitraljezac You're a son of a bitch! So fuck off. Before my parents moved to VN for a better reason from their company, I lived in LA bitch. Go fuck yourself!

  • @1stMarineCapt Fuck him. It's a clone of Sturmann ss-sick-lover. He is not a real American. Real American patriot wouldn't betray memory of his ancestors.

  • @BitnikGr Infact buddy, I've seen pictures of American citizens battling neo-Nazis assholes.

  • @Sturmmann It is obvious from your profile that you are some kind SS Nazi supporter. I don't tolerate only one thing. Fascism. Hating someone, just because of his nationality or place of birth is fascism. You are American. Your grandfathers fought against Fascist criminals of Axis powers. They shed blood to stop this plague of modern civilization.

    -

"Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are" - You have many fascist lovers scumbags in your friend list.

I'll keep my page fascism free!

  • @BitnikGr Dude he's Adolf's long lost grand children, so never mind. He never had any combat experience, so why minded talking to him?

  • @1stMarineCapt I can't understand such things as Russian nazi or American SS supporter or Jewish swastika. I mean, such people offense the memory of our grandfathers, who fought against this plague and to not allow it rise once again.

People like that are historically illiterate or they have their brains screwed and they need a shrink. Otherwise, if they are mentally healthy, they need to be imprisoned. To have enough time to read cases of Nuremberg trial.

  • @Sturmmann I ain't gunna start an arguement, but the truth is the truth. I ain't kidding ya son of a bitch, and I'ma serious.

  • @Sturmmann I ain't bullshitting dude! The M4A1 isn't any good in the battlefield. Never seen anyone got wound by their own rifles? Well then you'll be amazed. A fellow whom I knew him about a month ago, he was in the Rio De Janeiro cops Department. He was issued with an M4A1. On a clearing in some 2003-4, while providing cover fire for his fellas, he got his M4A1 jammed. While clearing that jam, a son of a bitch shot him right on the ass at 250 yards away. How that for now?

  • @Sturmmann Well hell the M16A4 is officially phase out of the Army whereas M16A4 continue to serve the Marine Corp. The Recons used the M4 because they need to be light and fast, but indeed the M4 is now "the jamming M16". Have a better look at any and every other vids about Marines in combat, you'll see them with the M16 more.

Marine's traditional culture was that of "Every Marine a rifleman".

  • @1stMarineCapt I would add that Marine's traditional culture is "to do more with less". In WW II in Pacific they were equipped worse than regular Army, but had always the most tough missions to accomplish.

  • @BitnikGr I think the Army is worse, not the Marines. Marines have got Thompson SMG in every single squad, at least one US Marine, whoever so or whatever ranking position, gotta be armed with Thompson, and that was continued up until the Korean War, and till the early stages of Vietnam. The Army, however, only issue widely the Thompson for Para Troops only, whereas the M3 grease gun was issued to regular infantry. Infantries sometimes lucky enough to have one, though.

  • @1stMarineCapt I remember a US documentary about Marines and specifically operations in Pacific and battles like Okinawa etc. In that documentary it was said, that Marines had only rifles and squads had 1 machine gun. And it was said that Army infantry was equipped better. From there I remember that phrase "Marines do more with less".

  • @BitnikGr No, that's not truth. My friend's gramps served from Guadalcanal to Peleliu, and he saids that the only time that they got disappointed about their weapons was those of the battles in Guadalcanal, 'cause riflemen got issued with Springfield rifles, and mostly NCO & officers are armed with Thompson. Machine guns were most appreciated during the time. Not until 1943 that the Marines are officially armed with Garand rifles and BAR.

  • @1stMarineCapt Ah! Yes! I remember it. It was indeed documentary about Marines in Guadalcanal and I wanted to write that they didn't had even a self-reloading rifles. Now I do remember. It was indeed the Springfield rifle. So, basically that documentary just made it up, presenting an actually inferior equipment as valor of USMC. So, such equipment was an exception and not the rule.

Thank you for clearing that out. I appreciate that.

  • @BitnikGr Yeah. And if you have a clearer look at those of the WWII Marines til the early stages of Vietnam, you'll never see a US Marine with a Grease gun or any type of 9mm SMG. The only two .45 ACP SMG that had been so long with the Marines was the Thompson and the other Swedish's .45 ACP SMG that was issued to the Recons.

By the time of 1942, yes the Army was kinda better in equipment since they got the M1 adopted first. But they didn't have any proper training, so they got it clumsily.

  • @1stMarineCapt Well, thank you for participation. Your comments are very valuable. Much more informative and objective than most of comments here all together. It is nice to meet you.

  • @BitnikGr I already subbed ya! Gonna have a little surprise. Semper Fi!

  • @1stMarineCapt

I dont need to watch vids. I was issued an M4 for the most of my career overseas.

  • @1stMarineCapt

M4s dont have a reputation for jamming but poorer ballistics and tumbling on impact. Velocity drops slightly at 250yds. Barrel twist rate isnt adequate.

  • @Sturmmann They do jams alot, just maybe your's hadn't. They got issues with double feed, over heat, frequent jams that needs armorer to fix them, and eventually, it was the design which damage the rifle.

  • @1stMarineCapt

where are you getting this from?

the only misfeeds Ive seen in my unit were stovepipes and ammo and magazine problems.

The actual rifle itself is superb. The armorer cant do shit other than tell the Marine to lube up his bolt for cleaner extractions

  • @Sturmmann I fired an M4A1 carbine before, in the Pendleton's range, while on duty. I thought it was suppose to be a better weapon than the M16, but it jams! I received it JUST OUT OF THE ARMORY MAN! AND IT JAMMED! TWICE! Double feeding once, second once require the armorer to fix the damn thing! You know what jammed 'em? The gas system! Corp's armorer were gun nerds man! They're all experts! Due to the short gas tube they apply more pressure to the bolt, therefore it jams! Simple!

  • @Sturmmann Marines uses M16 till now whereas Army fucked our boys up with the crappy M4A1.

  • @Sturmmann What shit? About the date? We have covered this in previous comments. Date mentioned in this documentary is not when US Marines were established. But the date when they became an independent branch of Army. Since 1776 (their birthday) till that date they were belong to Navy branch. That's all.

Except if you have another objection...

  • Haha so much of this is wrong.

  • @AlBunyan how the fuck would you know?

  • Hey man I thought Marines Units and mens call themselves devil dog (teufel Hunden stuff)

  • @Marine17inlove They have several nicknames.

  • This guys a fucken idiot, The U.S. Marine corp was created november 12 1775, not 1900's.

  • @tonygogap Were Marines an independent Branch of US Army in 1775? Wasn't it Naval detachment till the mid of 19th century? When did USMC become independent? When USMC emblem appeared? 1868... When USMC hymn appeared? 1883.

Actually participation of USMC in foreing expeditions in 19th century lead to its establishing as independent branch.

Many countries has Marines, but all of them are part of Navy forces.

It is easy to call someone "fucken idiot", when you can't read properly your own language.

  • @BitnikGr The marines were active since November 10, 1775 dumbass. The United States Marine Corps traces its institutional roots to the Continental Marines of the American Revolutionary War, formed by Captain Samuel Nicholas at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, by a resolution of the Second Continental Congress on 10 November 1775, to raise 2 battalions of Marines. That date is regarded and celebrated as the date of the Marine Corps' "birthday" Bitch.

  • @tonygogap Hey, dickhead, you really can't comprehend your own language don't you? Did anyone say that USMC birthday isn't in 1775? Was USMC independent branch of US Army since 1775? NO IT WASN'T! It became independent branch in late 19th century and this is EXACTLY what was stated in this video. Since 1775 and till 20th century US Marines were part of the Navy, just like are Marines of every other Army in the World till today!!!

  • @tonygogap "Thoughts about forming Marines AS A DIFFERENT BRANCH OF ARMY were born in 19th century." - I don't know how difficult is to understand this? Is this sentence too complicate for you? Lets make it more simple for you.

Marine Corps were born in 1775! - True!

USMC became an independent branch of US Army (together with US Army, US Navy and USAF) in 19th century! - True!

    End of discussion.

  • @BitnikGr Yea its like if the rangers became their own branch. people would still say they were created before then but they wernt an independent branch until recently (thats all just hypothetical)

  • @BitnikGr They are still a department of the navy.

  • @BitnikGr your right it the marine corp was never part of the Army it was party of the navy when formed because they would be used as ship infantry. their job was to defened the ship from the enemy trying to abord the ship or to abord the enemys ship to take control. in WWII as it said the Marines would drop onto beachs by ship so you can see why they were part of the navy. some of the things on this show are not accurate but over all its not bad so far

  • @BitnikGr yes the Marines were apart of the Navy not the army the reason why was that the Marines were used as navy infantry on boats. they would defend US boats from enemy soldiers bording thier ship and they would bord the enemeys ship to take control and it evolded into what it is now

  • but the maries failed during afghan mission, they got huge causalities of t.so they had to support and arm some of the local militia who are against taliban to fight for them.the marines just fought from air till the end of the war.

  • @kingdomofwitches "the marines just fought from air till the end of the war."

What end of war? Did the war in Afghanistan end and I miss it?

  • @BitnikGr i mean officially ,the war may not be practically over, but officially its over some years back thrice

  • @kingdomofwitches Really? Couple of months ago Obama declared that war in Iraq is over. But Afghan War's status is currently "Conflict ongoing".

    /wiki/War_in_Afghanistan_(2001–present).

Anyhow, official declaritions have no importance at all. Wars, both in Iraq and in Afghanistan, are ongoing.

  • russians are showing Marine clips from Desert Storm because they don't want to show how modern weapons they have now.

  • @sniperRobert "russians are showing Marine clips from Desert Storm because"... this video was on air early in 2004, during second Iraq Campaign.

Please, enlight us what USMC has now in 2010, which it hadn't in 2003-2004.

  • 1:32...actualy the first continental U.S. Marines were formed on the 10th of November 1775 while the USMC as we know it today was formed in 1798...

and the ships displayed at the end belong to the U.S. Navy...the marines are a department of the navy and as they like to call it : "The mens department" :D:D

    so they're not entirely independent

  • Re Purpleravenstar.

The Rayadillo uniform was used by the Flips in the S/A war, as well as the insurrection after. It ha even been revived by the Military Academy as a dress uniform.

So, it does represent a historical enemy uniform for marines

  • I caught that thing about fighting in Hawaii too. I was stationed there in the marines for almost 4 years. I guess somebody forgot to tell me. Maybe it was "lost in translation".

I hope the paid Stanley Kubric and R. Lee for the use off all that FMJ footage.

That was filmed in the P.I. incdentally. For some reason, the USMC disapproved of the script, and wouldn't cooperate with the filming in any way.

As much as I enjoyed that movie, especially the Boot Camp scenes, I understand why.

    I

  • 1:52 - Filipino troops wearing rayadillo uniforms in the Spanish-American War...wts?

  • Wow, I thought most Russians absolutely hated the USMC. lol cool.

  • @jameswx09 You have to ignore modern warfare 2 and all that other garbage to realize that the US and Russia really don't 'hate' eachother that much anymore.

  • @TheVampyreCat That's because modern Russia lives far less dignified life of greasy coin sucking.

  • Skipped over Korea. At 7m 01s it should be "Tarawa" with a W not a V. Thanks for posting the video.

  • When it comes to names I try to check them in wikipedia in order to avoid mistakes. However I miss this one. Landing ships "Tarawa" is correct. Thank you for correction.

  • Interesting perspective on the USMC. As a former Marine myself, it's always interesting to see how other countries viewed us.

One thing also...Marines are referred to as "Leathernecks" but more commonly call each other "Devil Dogs", a term which originated from WWI.

  • marines fighting in Hawaii??

  • What do you mean?

  • @BitnikGr Towards the end, the subtitles display a list of recent locations where the Marines have been engaged in fighting, Hawaii ( a US State) is listed.

  • @Robbob9933 Ah, now I got it...

Well, during WW II Hawaii wasn't yet a US State. Have been pilots of USMC engaged in aerial battles during attack on Pearl Harbor or it was US Air Force pilots?

Because, otherwise I can't explain why Hawaii is listed here. Marines hadn't fight for Hawaii. They were located there before US entered into WW II.

  • @davetileguy

Yes, that left me scratching my head as well...

  • @sauron846

What about marines in Hawaii? Are you wondering why marines in Hawaii are not mentioned?

  • "Tanned withers" should be "leather-neck". It originated with a strange leather collar only the Marines wore, but caught on as it sounds tough as hell.

  • Thank you very much.

It was really hard to find right meaning for those words from Russian and even description of USMC in wikipedia doesn't mention it.

    I'll post an annotation later.

  • Any time. Meanings can become confused when translated from english to russian and then back to english.

Thanks for the translations of these videos, my russian is awful.

  • The leatherneck name comes from the days of sail. US Marines on board ships wore a stiff leather collar to protect their necks from saber cuts.

  • 0:29 thats from the movie Full Metal jacket.

  • Yes, this movie is mentioned in the documentary.

And not only at 0:29, somewhere later too. Dialog of sergeaunt with private Joker.

  • awesome video. ooh-rah.

    that is how it's spelled.

  • Russia and Usa united against common enemy

    TERRORISM !!

  • By the way, 27 of November is Day of Marines in Russian Federation.

  • What deserve respect should be respected and not rejected just because it is not "ours", American or Russian or whatsoever.

  • even russian feel respect for USMC. hooah! and 5 stars

  • You are just used to agressive advertising and bragging style of american totally biased propagandistic TV shows like "Future weapons".

Most Russian TV shows (and particularly this one) keep reasonable and prefer objectivity.
