1. You are wrong that I sought out music videos with drums in it. I don't have a problem with the drums.
2. Not knowing the circumstances of the video, that as you say the program was over and they were just playing afterwards, it appears that this was going on during the actual program itself...this gave the appearance of bedlam and confusion. You also did not make it plain that a non-Adventist group was playing hence the jewelry. This clears away most of the problems for me.

There is a vast difference between judgment & discernment. I am a conservative Adventist, & I can see how people would naturally have concern when they see a video like this. I already know the singers are not SDA, but may I ask why they allow this kind of music in their Church? U profess to believe the writings of Sister White, yet u do realize that she warns heavily against these worship styles? Of emotional movements, swaying, of a sensational character? We are to be a peculiar people.

Thses are gods words himself. He didnt say rest and make the first day of the week(Sunday) holy. He blessed the seventh day. Catholics are not GOD!!!!! They have no authority to change anything. I believe all that the SDA church teaches but no longer attend church. I feel the time is coming when all true Adventists will leave the church and begin worshiping in their homes because even the SDA church will be corrupted.

@ming89able I have been attending church but am not sure which SDA church to join again. My eyes have been wide open for some time. The time has come for all to discard dairy and meat and eat a very simple diet and lifestyle. We should shun entertainment and sporting events. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus lest we be deceived. His coming is very imminent. The counsel of EGW should be followed for these last days.

@MrBronbron Please be more specific on how EGW was wrong. The vision described in Acts chapter 10 does not deal with diet. If read in its entirety, one can conclude that it deals with Peter's reluctance to share the Gospel with those he felt was unclean. God used clean and unclean animals to make a point to Peter. Do you really thing God sent His only Son to die for us so we could eat pork? Did Jesus suffer as He did just so you could enjoy certain foods?

I believe you have it all backwards...The Spirit Of Prophecy says "All the sinners in Zion will be sifted OUT"...in other words the true believers WILL stay with the church and the tares will all leave. If YOU leave the church based on what you have said, then you are a part of the TARES. EGW said that this ship...the SDA church IS going through and if you're not IN it then you will NOT go through. Think on that...and get your SOP books out and start reading so you can know.
7th day Sabbath-keeping was also a ceremonial law that was nailed to the cross as the Israelites required priests lambs, etc to keep it holy.
Numbers 28:9-10:
"On the Sabbath day, make an offering of two lambs a year old without defect, together with its drink offering and a grain offering of two-tenths f an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil. This is the burnt offering every Sabbath, in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering."
The whole covenant, which included the Ten Commandments, that God made with the Israelites was done away with (Hebrew 8:7-13 & 2 Corinthians 3:7-11). But moral laws similar to those found in the Old Testament are recorded in the New Testament & so the argument that if the Ten Commandments had been abolished, then you could sin as much as you like is incorrect.
Did you know that The catholic church changed the sabbath from saturday to sunday? and that is why many churches worship on sundays. If it was abolished as u say then wat is the need 2 change it from saturday to sunday? and also jesus died on friday..he could have risen the next day but he rested and rose on sunday, so even jesus observed the sabbath as the day of rest.
As far as I'm aware, the Catholic church regards itself as the church founded by Jesus Christ in A.D. 33 and that Peter & the other apostles were their first Cardinal Bishops. And God INSPIRED the Bishops of that church to change the day of worship. So it was God HIMSELF who changed the day of worship rather than uninspired men doing it on ther own. Catholics also believe that some of Christ's teachings were handed down by word of mouth (i.e. traditions) - see 2 Thess 2:14 & 3:6
@maltanistic Please provide just ONE verse from the Bible proving the validity of keeping Sunday holy. Show where God said in the Bible that the day was changed from Saturday to Sunday. From the Bible, not the mouths of men.

I'm not a Catholic & as far as I'm aware,Catholics accept both the Bible (written word) & tradition (instructions handed down by word of mouth) as being of equal importance (see 2 Thess 2:14, 2 Thess 3:6 & John 21:24-25).Since you're a Sola-Scriptura-based Christian, please provide ONE verse stating that the Sabbath is the SEAL of the living God & also ONE verse that a Sunday-keeper will receive the mark of the beast.

This doesn't look like an Adventist Church to me. GOD is the Lord of order and solemness. He deserves our praise and our glory but also our humbleness. I wonder if you would have dared to praise like that in the holy place in the sanctuary. I'll be praying for my church so our eyes will be open.
SDA's assume that Adam and Eve observed the Sabbath during the first 7th day in the Garden of Eden and so, to SDA's, the first Sabbath began in Eden. But today, the Sabbath begins west of the International Date Line (IDL) in the Pacific Ocean & so SDA's are unknowingly breaking the Sabbath every week unless they can move the IDL from its current location to a new north-south location somewhere along the eastern border of the Garden of Eden. Dear brother that posted this video. I do feel your distress. But remember, there are others that are distressed also about what is happing in our church. This is hard on all sides. We need to keep in constant prayer and always seek the Lord for guidance when in theses situations. There is only one Biblical Model for the worship of Jehovah - the sanctuary service. God has constantly called His people out of their surrounding cultures to worship him in specific ways/forms etc.
Look at musical principles in that model. Study the evolution of what we have as christian music now. When you understand that, you will see how much we are missing the mark.

Good day all. I just want to comment on some of the things that have been stated. In regards to EG White, if we study our bibles we will know that she fits the description of a prophet. There are documented text of individuals who were actually there when she went in and out of vision. She never says that we are to look at her writings that as our guiding light.
Here is my two cents. Instuments are tools, and how you use them will tell people what you're building. So if the music you play sounds a certain way then that is what it is. As for Sister White. We must remember She had limitted education. She refered to her self as a messenger not a prophet. Who cares where she got the words to write down in her messages. What needs to be tested is the message not her! If the words come from God then does it matter what person penned them first?

I am a recognized Seventh Day Adventist and I don't think you will find an SDA person out there that will say that his or her categorized christianity will save them. Drums will not keep you out of heaven and big franks won't save you. LOL! Salvation is a gift from God. The bible says it over and over again. However, if we use our drums, our voices, our guitars to glorify something other than God, then we leave ourselves open for damnation.

When did Christ tell us to pre-occupy ourselves with condemning cults? Isn't it time better used to praise his name? It is one thing to claim SDAs like to judge others. It's another to consider them trying to change the laws of the land to make everyone see things their way. Most Sunday keepers who attack Adventists on the ground they determine everyone must see things their way don't mind having the government enforce laws upon everyone to see things contrary to what the SDAs say.
Everyone on this thread who speaks against judging others is in fact doing the same thing. Neither is millions of people condemned because someone takes the authority to call their church a "cult."
Law but the ordinances themselves(the Law of Moses). If the Moral Law was nailed to the cross then there is no sin for scripture declares that "sin is the transgression of the Law". The Law of God shows us our sin, or which we then turn to Christ to cleanse us and cover us with His righteousness. Is the Moral Law done away with... heaven forbid, for David declares that God's Law is perfect, everlasting, converting the soul. More to be desired are they than gold.
I don't see how anyone can say the law is still in effect when they read Col. 2:14 they will see for themselves that it says Christ canceled the written code and nailed it too the cross. They can find the exacting wording the KVJ1611, KVJ, NKJV, NIV, NASB, Amp, NLT, ASV, HCSB, DARBY, NIRV, TLB, TNIV. For some reason sda(satan decieved alliance i call them) don't see it yet the exact wording is found in so many translations.
A more careful study of scripture and hebrew history will tell you that paul in Col2:14 is actually talking about the handwriting of ordinances or the "law of ordinances" of which Moses wrote in his own handwriting - in the book of the Law (book of the covenant). This book of the Law (the handwriting of ordinances) was positioned in a temporary place, beside the ark, and it stood as a witness against the people. Therefore the law it is talking about is not the Ten Commandment Law or the Moral

Of course keeping the law is not going to save you. The Law of God is not going to save us but the grace of God is. However Paul puts it quite nicely in Romans chapter 6 when he says "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!" ... As for your friend, I will not pass judgement on him but anyone exhibiting that character shows us that unless we have a close relationship with Christ then we will surely fall...
I am bapticostal by conviction and saved by the grace of God. I am southern/missionary baptist biblically and pentecostal music style in church. I don't agree with just one style or worship so therefore i have a mix style about me when i worship. If someone is not going too preach about hell fire from the pulpit then theres no need in preaching cause no christians need too know what will happen if they don't accept Christ before they die

Me and my SDA wife both wear our edding rings. Our pastor told us that he and the area's conference realize there is nothing wrong with that. If they were HUGE diamond rings or something way too expensive it may be a little different. But we don't wear them to be a spectacle. (I'm also not much of a fan of wearing rings anyway)

I understand your frustration about negative remarks from Christians but it is sad that you only seem to point fingers at Adventist when in truth it is all religious groups who make negative remarks. The sad thing is that many of them have been members for many years and still don't know them. That is basic prophetic doctrine. Worse yet, the next generation of many or most Adventists know even less about their bible than what they know about Lucado, Warren and Barna. The scripture first, next and last should be our principle. Jesus did it, the apostles and most Christians that suffer for their faith know it becase it is their only guide.
Most Christians today are followers of the popular trends. Unfortunately many Adventists have fallen into this trap also. Yeah, it is good to have a good relationship with God, but how can you do that when you don't know his will? If you ask the average Adventist today to explain from memory the doctrines, principles and the explanation of Daniel Chapter 2 they will have to stop and start thinking about it first.

I understand how many can view this video as disrespectful or somewhat "out of line", but you have to keep in mind that this was a youth event and many of the people in the church were not "of" the church. A lot of these young people were visiting from other denominations and so were the actual singers. This was also towards the end of a really long worship concert so it was exciting for most to have a really "live" group up there.
The Adventist church is home to THE greatest musicians, and musical history in the world, and all you people can do is act like heaven is going to be silence and sleepy time!! UGH!! God bless and HAPPY SABBATH!!

The way music is conducted is important and if its abused, I think it would be better to remain in silent contemplation. Drums my friend has no place in the church service...
This is Adventism? If my church got like this I wouldnt stop being Adventist but would definately attend a different congregation. This is one of the reasons I look forward to Revive 07 with Ps Doug Batchelor. This is proof that we need a revival. Its sad that the denominations we sometimes try to imitate laugh at our beliefs. As the Remnant Church we should strive by God's grace to be DIFFERENT.

I can do allot of things right even go on mission trips and pay tithe. But If I dont have time for God in prayer, study, and service I'm living in sin regardless of what I do. I have to agree with the spirit of this message, what I don't agree with is how some Adventists use it to become God-like and start passing judgment on others without taking the time to understand the whole scope of the ministry or whom it involves.
Just because a certain instrument is used doesn't make it satanic, it is the spirit in which the worship is done in that makes all the difference.
If you don't like or agree with a certain type of praise, you have the free will to turn around and walk out or, in this case, close the window. But when you start to pass judgment on the sincerity of the worship, you are trying to put yourself in the same realm with God, the same sin that Lucifer committed in heaven.
Focus on praying and fasting for the lost and spend less time criticizing and judging, you will win a lot more souls that way.

I agree with you Jerimiah 212. You can conduct your church service as quiet as a church mouse and still go to hell in a express train. Just because you don't use drums and do not wear jewelry dosen't mean you are worthy of heaven. Look at what some do after the Sabbath hmmmmmmmmmm!!! djchillman, true christians never die, they only sleep. Once a person accepts Christ, by faith, eternal life has begun...not future but at that moment. All the prophets of the Bible are dead and you can be sure that God had prophets that never had their life recorded. I suggest you take care what you say to or about a prophet of God and remember the she bears! The children spoke with contempt about Gods prophet and we all learned a lesson from that (I hope).

As a Seventh Day Adventist Elder...I dont think the drums have a place in church, though I enjoy their desire to praise. Look up the guidance we have on this subject...perhapns Louis Torres Notes on Music or Ellen Whites writings. Theres plenty of clear statements and good reason for them. Certain instraments are good but not drums. God Bless. Notice how everyone clapped like it was a show? What happened to Amen...it really is praise to God.

Brother, you need to read the spirit of prophecy on music. You are the furtherest from the truth in your statement. Sister White spoke on exactly those same conditions and said she saw the angels frown and turn their heads away Such noise will not be heard in heaven and I'm thankful. We worship a MOST Holy God and He is dishonored when the music offered to Him is a din of noise and yelling and crooning as one would in a bar.

do you know what is funny is someone can come to church and play the piano and get all into playing that piano, no one would say anything negative. but let someone play the drums and get all into play them and people will have a problem. if the person playing the piano heart is not into playing music for God, they will sound like trash to God, and the same goes for any instrument, or anything you do to glorify God.
at one point and time organs were not allowed in church, so if you talk about drums you might as well talk about every other instrument that was every made.
God is a God of reverence. I cannot imagine as being LOUD. The drums the Bible mentions is not the same drums created in the last century with the purpose to ROCK AND ROLL. There is no Rock for Jesus....
What do you mean the Catholics broke off from the Baptist DJC? Jehova's Witness and others also broke off from the SDA. I always thought Catholics begot Lutherans and so on.
DJC, I was always under the assumption that Catholics were first, Lutherans came next, and many more after that. When one thinks of church and state in past history, Rome and Catholicism comes to mind, not Rome and the Baptist. I could be wrong. Let me know regardless.
DJC, did the Mormans really come from the SDA? I never knew that. Most of my friends from other denominations think of them as a cult and not a true denomination. They believe Jesus was here in America also don't they. If so, they are as guilty of Cognitive Dissonance as E.G. White! I will be looking into that.

1. You are wrong that I sought out music videos with drums in it. I don't have a problem with the drums.
2. Not knowing the circumstances of the video, that as you say the program was over and they were just playing afterwards, it appears that this was going on during the actual program itself...this gave the appearance of bedlam and confusion. You also did not make it plain that a non-Adventist group was playing hence the jewelry. This clears away most of the problems for me.

I already know the singers are not SDA, but may I ask why they allow this kind of music in their Church? Thses are gods words himself. He didnt say rest and make the first day of the week(Sunday) holy. He blessed the seventh day. Catholics are not GOD!!!!! They have no authority to change anything. The time has come for all to discard dairy and meat and eat a very simple diet and lifestyle. We should shun entertainment and sporting events. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus lest we be deceived. His coming is very imminent. The counsel of EGW should be followed for these last days.

@MrBronbron Please be more specific on how EGW was wrong. The vision described in Acts chapter 10 does not deal with diet. If read in its entirety, one can conclude that it deals with Peter's reluctance to share the Gospel with those he felt was unclean. God used clean and unclean animals to make a point to Peter. Do you really thing God sent His only Son to die for us so we could eat pork? Did Jesus suffer as He did just so you could enjoy certain foods?

I believe you have it all backwards...The Spirit Of Prophecy says "All the sinners in Zion will be sifted OUT"...in other words the true believers WILL stay with the church and the tares will all leave. If YOU leave the church based on what you have said, then you are a part of the TARES. EGW said that this ship...the SDA church IS going through and if you're not IN it then you will NOT go through. Think on that...and get your SOP books out and start reading so you can know.

7th day Sabbath-keeping was also a ceremonial law that was nailed to the cross as the Israelites required priests lambs, etc to keep it holy.
Numbers 28:9-10:

The whole covenant, which included the Ten Commandments, that God made with the Israelites was done away with (Hebrew 8:7-13 & 2 Corinthians 3:7-11). But moral laws similar to those found in the Old Testament are recorded in the New Testament & so the argument that if the Ten Commandments had been abolished, then you could sin as much as you like is incorrect.

Did you know that The catholic church changed the sabbath from saturday to sunday? and that is why many churches worship on sundays. If it was abolished as u say then wat is the need 2 change it from saturday to sunday? and also jesus died on friday..he could have risen the next day but he rested and rose on sunday, so even jesus observed the sabbath as the day of rest.

As far as I'm aware, the Catholic church regards itself as the church founded by Jesus Christ in A.D. 33 and that Peter & the other apostles were their first Cardinal Bishops. And God INSPIRED the Bishops of that church to change the day of worship. So it was God HIMSELF who changed the day of worship rather than uninspired men doing it on ther own. Catholics also believe that some of Christ's teachings were handed down by word of mouth (i.e. traditions) - see 2 Thess 2:14 & 3:6

I'm not a Catholic & as far as I'm aware,Catholics accept both the Bible (written word) & tradition (instructions handed down by word of mouth) as being of equal importance (see 2 Thess 2:14, 2 Thess 3:6 & John 21:24-25).Since you're a Sola-Scriptura-based Christian, please provide ONE verse stating that the Sabbath is the SEAL of the living God & also ONE verse that a Sunday-keeper will receive the mark of the beast.

SDA's assume that Adam and Eve observed the Sabbath during the first 7th day in the Garden of Eden and so, to SDA's, the first Sabbath began in Eden. But today, the Sabbath begins west of the International Date Line (IDL) in the Pacific Ocean & so SDA's are unknowingly breaking the Sabbath every week unless they can move the IDL from its current location to a new north-south location somewhere along the eastern border of the Garden of Eden. We need to keep in constant prayer and always seek the Lord for guidance when in theses situations. There is only one Biblical Model for the worship of Jehovah - the sanctuary service. God has constantly called His people out of their surrounding cultures to worship him in specific ways/forms etc.
Look at musical principles in that model. Study the evolution of what we have as christian music now. When you understand that, you will see how much we are missing the mark.

There are documented text of individuals who were actually there when she went in and out of vision. She never says that we are to look at her writings that as our guiding light.

Here is my two cents. Instuments are tools, and how you use them will tell people what you're building. So if the music you play sounds a certain way then that is what it is. As for Sister White. We must remember She had limitted education. She refered to her self as a messenger not a prophet. Who cares where she got the words to write down in her messages. What needs to be tested is the message not her! If the words come from God then does it matter what person penned them first?

I am a recognized Seventh Day Adventist and I don't think you will find an SDA person out there that will say that his or her categorized christianity will save them. Drums will not keep you out of heaven and big franks won't save you. LOL! Salvation is a gift from God. The bible says it over and over again. However, if we use our drums, our voices, our guitars to glorify something other than God, then we leave ourselves open for damnation.

When did Christ tell us to pre-occupy ourselves with condemning cults? Isn't it time better used to praise his name? It is one thing to claim SDAs like to judge others. It's another to consider them trying to change the laws of the land to make everyone see things their way. Most Sunday keepers who attack Adventists on the ground they determine everyone must see things their way don't mind having the government enforce laws upon everyone to see things contrary to what the SDAs say.

Law but the ordinances themselves(the Law of Moses). If the Moral Law was nailed to the cross then there is no sin for scripture declares that "sin is the transgression of the Law". The Law of God shows us our sin, or which we then turn to Christ to cleanse us and cover us with His righteousness. Is the Moral Law done away with... heaven forbid, for David declares that God's Law is perfect, everlasting, converting the soul. More to be desired are they than gold.

I don't see how anyone can say the law is still in effect when they read Col. 2:14 they will see for themselves that it says Christ canceled the written code and nailed it too the cross. They can find the exacting wording the KVJ1611, KVJ, NKJV, NIV, NASB, Amp, NLT, ASV, HCSB, DARBY, NIRV, TLB, TNIV. For some reason sda(satan decieved alliance i call them) don't see it yet the exact wording is found in so many translations.

A more careful study of scripture and hebrew history will tell you that paul in Col2:14 is actually talking about the handwriting of ordinances or the "law of ordinances" of which Moses wrote in his own handwriting - in the book of the Law (book of the covenant). This book of the Law (the handwriting of ordinances) was positioned in a temporary place, beside the ark, and it stood as a witness against the people. Therefore the law it is talking about is not the Ten Commandment Law or the Moral

Of course keeping the law is not going to save you. The Law of God is not going to save us but the grace of God is. However Paul puts it quite nicely in Romans chapter 6 when he says "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!" ... As for your friend, I will not pass judgement on him but anyone exhibiting that character shows us that unless we have a close relationship with Christ then we will surely fall...

I am bapticostal by conviction and saved by the grace of God. I am southern/missionary baptist biblically and pentecostal music style in church. I don't agree with just one style or worship so therefore i have a mix style about me when i worship. If someone is not going too preach about hell fire from the pulpit then theres no need in preaching cause no christians need too know what will happen if they don't accept Christ before they die

How is it a shame when someone approves that having sex with a live in bf/gf is ok and cussing is ok just as long as ur at church on saturday and not working fri. night-sat. night like my old roommate and other sda's i know. guess hes afraid like most sda if they tell there family their not an sda anymore they will get disowned.

That last word sure is powerful i know if i ever heard s h then i t as 4 letters put together in the pulpit I as others in my church would really question if my preacher really was a christian or not. I wanna be one that does not have unwholesome talk come out of my mouth but things that are uplifting for the Lord. I hope that if I ever say something that isn't uplifting to the Lord that someone would correct me with a vs from the bible.

Me and my SDA wife both wear our edding rings. Our pastor told us that he and the area's conference realize there is nothing wrong with that. If they were HUGE diamond rings or something way too expensive it may be a little different. But we don't wear them to be a spectacle. (I'm also not much of a fan of wearing rings anyway)

I understand your frustration about negative remarks from Christians but it is sad that you only seem to point fingers at Adventist when in truth it is all religious groups who make negative remarks. Now leaving the truth out is not Christ like either is it? Give praise to God in song and may it be wonderful in His ear. God bless you and I pray we all stop judging each other. We have a great cause to spread love in Christ, do we not.

The sad thing is that many of them have been members for many years and still don't know them. That is basic prophetic doctrine. Worse yet, the next generation of many or most Adventists know even less about their bible than what they know about Lucado, Warren and Barna. The scripture first, next and last should be our principle. Jesus did it, the apostles and most Christians that suffer for their faith know it becase it is their only guide.

Most Christians today are followers of the popular trends. Unfortunately many Adventists have fallen into this trap also. Yeah, it is good to have a good relationship with God, but how can you do that when you don't know his will? If you ask the average Adventist today to explain from memory the doctrines, principles and the explanation of Daniel Chapter 2 they will have to stop and start thinking about it first.

I understand how many can view this video as disrespectful or somewhat "out of line", but you have to keep in mind that this was a youth event and many of the people in the church were not "of" the church. A lot of these young people were visiting from other denominations and so were the actual singers. This was also towards the end of a really long worship concert so it was exciting for most to have a really "live" group up there.

blagrhayne, I agree with you...heaven will not be silent. I imagine it to be full of heavenly music that we all will take part in. Not this kind that calls itself christian...thats all. The way music is conducted is important and if its abused, I think it would be better to remain in silent contemplation. Drums my friend has no place in the church service...

This is Adventism? If my church got like this I wouldnt stop being Adventist but would definately attend a different congregation. This is one of the reasons I look forward to Revive 07 with Ps Doug Batchelor. This is proof that we need a revival. Its sad that the denominations we sometimes try to imitate laugh at our beliefs. As the Remnant Church we should strive by God's grace to be DIFFERENT.

I'm going to make a bold statement to add on my comment below. Sin must never be defined in terms of behavior, it must always be defined in terms of relationship. I can do allot of things right even go on mission trips and pay tithe. But If I dont have time for God in prayer, study, and service I'm living in sin regardless of what I do. Remember in the last day what Jesus will say to those people who said Lord Lord? I never knew you...despite of all the good things they did. Amen Guys?

I have to agree with the spirit of this message, what I don't agree with is how some Adventists use it to become God-like and start passing judgment on others without taking the time to understand the whole scope of the ministry or whom it involves.
Just because a certain instrument is used doesn't make it satanic, it is the spirit in which the worship is done in that makes all the difference.

If you don't like or agree with a certain type of praise, you have the free will to turn around and walk out or, in this case, close the window. But when you start to pass judgment on the sincerity of the worship, you are trying to put yourself in the same realm with God, the same sin that Lucifer committed in heaven.
Focus on praying and fasting for the lost and spend less time criticizing and judging, you will win a lot more souls that way.

I agree with you Jerimiah 212. You can conduct your church service as quiet as a church mouse and still go to hell in a express train. Just because you don't use drums and do not wear jewelry dosen't mean you are worthy of heaven. Look at what some do after the Sabbath hmmmmmmmmmm!!! William Bullein Johnson is one that needs too be looked into for his beliefs in God, i love his views and think ppl should give him a chance. besides 1 Corinthians 14:37 says " If you claim to be a prophet or think you are spiritual, you should recognize that what I am saying is a command from the Lord himself." sounds like EGW is a false prophet.

2* The Pope is the Antichrist (a belief in many protestant religions for over 500 years).
3* That 666 is the Pope's numerology (SDA historians state the SDA church has even made up false photos to "prove" this, just look up "Vicarius Filii Dei" on wikipedia)

djchillman, true christians never die, they only sleep. Once a person accepts Christ, by faith, eternal life has begun...not future but at that moment. All the prophets of the Bible are dead and you can be sure that God had prophets that never had their life recorded. I suggest you take care what you say to or about a prophet of God and remember the she bears! The children spoke with contempt about Gods prophet and we all learned a lesson from that (I hope).

As a Seventh Day Adventist Elder...I dont think the drums have a place in church, though I enjoy their desire to praise. Look up the guidance we have on this subject...perhapns Louis Torres Notes on Music or Ellen Whites writings. Theres plenty of clear statements and good reason for them. Certain instraments are good but not drums. God Bless. Notice how everyone clapped like it was a show? What happened to Amen...it really is praise to God.

Sister White spoke on exactly those same conditions and said she saw the angels frown and turn their heads away Such noise will not be heard in heaven and I'm thankful. We worship a MOST Holy God and He is dishonored when the music offered to Him is a din of noise and yelling and crooning as one would in a bar.

do you know what is funny is someone can come to church and play the piano and get all into playing that piano, no one would say anything negative. but let someone play the drums and get all into play them and people will have a problem. if the person playing the piano heart is not into playing music for God, they will sound like trash to God, and the same goes for any instrument, or anything you do to glorify God.

What do you mean the Catholics broke off from the Baptist DJC? Jehova's Witness and others also broke off from the SDA. I always thought Catholics begot Lutherans and so on.

DJC, I was always under the assumption that Catholics were first, Lutherans came next, and many more after that. When one thinks of church and state in past history, Rome and Catholicism comes to mind, not Rome and the Baptist. I could be wrong. Let me know regardless.

Mormons and Jehovah Witnessses came of their own formation with their own group.

DJC, did the Mormans really come from the SDA? I never knew that. Most of my friends from other denominations think of them as a cult and not a true denomination. They believe Jesus was here in America also don't they. If so, they are as guilty of Cognitive Dissonance as E.G. White! I will be looking into that.

baptist were formed in the 3rd century catholics in the 6th century most people only see JW as a cult cause they say Jesus was married and came too America but if you look up the definition of cult it is a group of people that worship someone and or the writings of someone whom is dead (i.e. Mohammad, Ellen White too name a few).
