@Sony816 so sau doof bist du. der spricht nur englisch un den motor in der reely krücke kannst du grad ma vergessen. der hält grad so den standrt motor aus, sonst fällt der ausseinander wie lego
@lukeiam0 Actually the Baldre is the second of the db01 chassis cars, and is still in production. I believe the body shell is the only difference between the two models. The TRF501X is however discontinued, being supplanted by the TRF511 chassis.
@lukeiam0 errrrrrr, no. That's not correct. The Baldre and Durga are the same car (DB-01) but with a different body. The Durga is the older of the two and neither have been discontinued. There has been trouble getting hold of the bodies for a while but that's better now.
Make sure you are using heat resistant grease and also make the diff tight. If you are just bashing and loosen the up so you get better turns etc. For this kind of "straight" racing I tight my diffs really hard so the balls are not slipping and creating heat.
Mamba Max motors have max 60,000rpm and cannot get over 200F. On top of that 7700 does more rotations per volt - so it is faster but it uses more energy to do so. For normal enjoyment and bashing, you'll go through your batteries very fast.
7700 cannot use 3cell Lipos (as per Castle Creations website). 11.1v of the 3cell lipo would put it way over the max rpm range and you will fry the motor.
Cooling and good batteries. The faster the battery discharges - more torque the motor has. But with fast discharge, battery does not last long unless you have good capacity.
My normal nimh batt:
4200mah @ 10C = 42A discharge
My Lipo:
3000mah @ 35C = 105A discharge :D
If you can afford lipos that have 8000mah+ then you can have some crazy speeds :)
Actually if you keep the motor cool via a nice big heatsink/fan combo you can use a 3S lipo with the 7700Kv motor but make sure you have a fan on the ESC too or like he said it will fry lol I dont reccomend that setup but for short speed runs with fans on both the ESC n motor it will be ok ! (short as in 5 or 6 runs up or down the road and then let the ESC/motor cool down because it will be pretty warm) I know the C.C. website says no 3s with 7700Kv n it will void warranty but it will handle it.
well I dont agree I want speed and I have a TB-03 but I get sick n tired of going threw spur/pinion combos because of a dang pebble, also if I hit a small rock at 55 n up the car goes airborn !(its happened B4 it will happen agian) So I sold my TB-03 with all of the hop ups they mad for it plus 35 0.4 mod. pinion gears n spurs for around $175.00 on ebay last week . I am very sad to see it go but I am getting the durga (basically a TA-05 with offroad susp.) adding some hpi sor nitro wheels
and slick tires (2.2 size so they fit the car and help keep ground clearance) and throwing every hop up I can get from my connection in japan and I wont ever have to worry about it flipping, scratching the bottom with a pebble or killing expensive gears agian !!! lol I had a ta-05 but didnt like that the belts werent enclosed so I dumped it on ebay for $20 more than I payed for it !
it did today(survive a 55 mph crash) lol just some scratches, and I like the Durga alot better than my TB-03. it actually handles more to my tastes and isnt as twitchy.
I want this video on my N92 unit.

I'm really surprised at the hot temps of the motor and ESC. The DB01 must have a lot of friction in the drivetrain or something.

do you know the difference between tamiya db01 baldre and db01 durga <.<

Not much difference. Baldre is the older model and is discontinued now.

65 mph not too shabby !! sounds like your belts might need adjusting or replaced I love speed !!

I must upgrade my batteries to Lipo, I can only manage 32mph on my DF-03 with Ezrun 9t and a 4500mah normal battery.

like it :)
Goes better than mine..
Do you think the mamba 5700 is enough power?
Or do you consider buy 7600 Mamba Max? (and run it on 3Cell lipo) ;)
liteglow2000 2 years ago
I did want to buy 7700kv motor. But:
Mamba Max motors have max 60,000rpm and cannot get over 200F. On top of that 7700 does more rotations per volt - so it is faster but it uses more energy to do so. For normal enjoyment and bashing, you'll go through your batteries very fast.

Bottom line: whatever you prefer :) Cheers!
lukeiam0 2 years ago
Yes I know about the max rpm :)
That`s why I think I only buy the 5700kv mamba max and run it on 3cell !
But for a "ultimate high speed test" ;) I wonder that I maybe want to try the 7800...
As you maybe have seen on other youtube videos, they run at 120mph (200kmh) ..
HOW is that possible when Mamba tell that they only can get 60-70mph with a mm motor...
anyway, Cheers and have fun :D

that is so overkill
if u only want to have speed than dont buy a buggy

You are right. However, most of the time I don't go for speed but simply bashing and racing on dirt. :)
