I agree that photography has changed, but art changed when photography came in. I bet painters thought the same thing about the first film photographers. Just another evolution of technology.
Besides, that is how sports photography works and it always has been - to an extent.
sports photography still requires skill. setting up a shot in a studio and shooting 500 photos to get 10 is a joke and disgrace to photography and all it stands for. it's not evolution it's devolution, evolution would mean improving as a photographer, taking 1 shot and nailing it first time. this is shameful exploitation of technology, the greats would be disgusted.
and shooting HD video to pull out single frames to use in a magazine??? i just threw up in my mouth a little bit! i cannot express how jaded this makes me feel about the state of modern photography. and it's the way he freely admits it like he's proud of it! the guy has no shame.
@newnewsfirst I totally agree, he's a disgrace to photography. A brilliant photographer knows what he exactly needs to realize his ideas and brig them to life. This approach to photography of ironically "shooting in the dark" is despicable. Maybe this dude should go back to web design and leave us in peace.
