Is a deer smart enough to detect a threat from the species of dogs and at the same time not see the cat as a big threat and thus used a heck of a lot more aggression on the dog. Your dog would be ok from that but the dog felt that one for a few days.
I consider myself an animal lover, but if that were my dog, that fawn would be an orphan. Leash or no leash, the deer ran twenty yards to attack the dog, who was nowhere near the fawn. At least off leash, the dog had a chance to get away...
I would have ran over to that deer and sawed the damn things neck in half with my ka-bar usmc fighting knife and watch the blood slowly become a pool in the street as the neighborhood kiddies watch in awe
@HeroicHeracross Wolves are a natural predator of the deer (this dog is the right size and shape) the deer is hardwired to defend her baby from wolves. She just did what was natural.
the girl scearming star why doesnt do some thing insteed of standing there saying stop it stop it grab something and hit it i did that to a groundhog and it died
You were right not to go to the help of the dog. Dogs have a better chance against a deer than a human does. More people are killed by deer every year than by sharks, for instance. They look cute, but they can be very dangerous.
This made me sick to my stomach. That poor dog. :'( I was really getting worried about the cat after seeing the deer attack the dog. I would not have stood there and let the deer attack my pet like that. (I love all animals - I would've tried to get my dog away from the deer - not harm the deer - just to be clear).
The dog shouldn't have been anywhere near the deer, that was bound to happen. The thing is, when an animal like deer sees a dog, it sees a wolf. Cats seem to get along much better with horses, deer etc because they are not threatening to them.
good job of going to help your dog you jack ass, i would have tackled that deer if it hurt my dog, and i realize the deer would prob beat my ass but i'd at least try, jesus.
@HeroicHeracross The difference is the cat is smaller than the fawn and the dog was bigger and could have caused harm - though likely he wouldn't have, but the doe just thought he would!
the people should have gotten their precious pets away from the wild animala and the wild animal's babies instead of being aw look at that it's so cute and fiming it. that's what happens in wild people. i only feel bad cuz you don't know to keep your little pets away from wild animals who are not the same as pets. no stupid animals, only stupid humans in this case.
I hope next time when that woman's dog is outside, it's on a damn leash. why didn't she see this coming, and what did she expect the doe to do? The mother was just protecting her own kid. Plus, why did she just stood there and screamed when her dog was attacked? It's is the worst thing you could do when anything is being attacked by a wild animal. It'll only stress the animal out even more, prolonging the attack. I hope the lesson was learned.
I would fucking grab a kitchen knife and stab the deer or throw it at it. Or get something at fucking kill the cock sucker. Deer are so dumb and pointless! One adult male deer tried the same thing with my 3 year old half charpay (dont know how to spell it) half german shepperd and she honestly killed the deer. Got it by the throaat and made it bleed to dead. The game warrents had to come shoot the damn thing and gave us a warning for letting out dog run around our yeard with out a leach.
@kinglewis360 same thing happen to me but my dog lived when i saw what was happening i got my bow and started fireing at the dam thing lucky it was in the archer season
@kinglewis360 What? Are they nuts? IN your yard w/o a leash. If your dog is within a fenced yard w/o a leash, that's still your property and not city or county property and right there in your own yard. No warning should have been issued.
Just my 2 cents. :) Glad your dog made it, sorry for the deer, but nature happens.
So many people are clueless and have no idea how much damage a wild animal can do (especially one protecting their young). Deer (as you can see on this video) consider dogs a serious threat. The people taking the video should've warned the pets away instead of standing there shooting footage.
Yes they are both fine, don't know what happened to the other link I had about the original story, but I had read it and the lady said they were fine. But I still don't understand why she didn't do more to scare that doe away, it is sad, but at least everything turned out all right!
I know, at first I thought what a cute video and then when I saw that it about broke my heart to see the poor dog curled up like that and obviously hurt, some people just shouldn't own a dog, they have no idea how to care for them!
That poor dog! That's terrible, but that's nature. Who on earth would let their dog out without it being on a leash. With all the things they can get into or can get to them, ours is either inside a fenced yard or on the leash when walking. Can pick her up and "get out of dodge" in a hurry that way.
@slfaulk53 people who trust their dogs. I used to let out my dog every morning and he would return a few hours later. He never caused any problems to anyone.
@Wesley296 We did that, too, a long time ago, with one of our dogs. For a long time no problems were ever caused or came our way. It only needs to happen once to learn, however. I won't extrapolate, but never again will I let one loose unless the yard has a high fence around it, which ours does where we now live. When taking her for a walk, she is on a leash. I do not ever wish to see my "babies" get hurt again. I am right there to protect her.
My First Thought:
Ok, so Bwahaha! Now the cat is full black. It doesn't stop it just runs like hell
