WTF never use the CD that comes with a router no router needs a driver it don't matter what OS you use Linux, Windows, Mac or FreeBSD just hook up via ethernet cable enter the routers IP in a web browser then log on and set up the wireless security with WPA or WPA2 then set up the name for the network (SSID) then save it the router normally will reboot then your good to go

You make it sound so simple. i tried to install my WRT54G old version of the wireless router and it asked for my password. I gave it and it did nothing but having me repeat the same questions so I gave up and uninstall. Now, you know I need to come to you! LOL

Kimberlene for all Linksys routers plug it in to power and ethernet on your PC/Mac and go to 192.168.1.1 then Linksys has two default usernames they are admin or administrator then they have three default passwords they are 1234 (not common only on some ISP router), admin or no password most common is admin, admin unless its flashed to Tomato or DD-WRT then its root for username and admin for password

Thanks for the info. I'm wireless now and I just got the up to date version of Linksys WRT160N and I'm also wireless at that router too.  At the linksys website, I decide not to be bother with that site because I have messed up the settings there which caused me to lose internet service.

kmobb120 thats because the CD is normally for Windows only u dont need the disk atall just read the manualy it should give you the routers IP and a user name ad password just hook up a computer to the router with a Ethernet cable and enter the ip in to a web browser and log in then u will see the routers setup pages

Pjordan87 if you have a compatible router you can change it to a third party firmware like DD-WRT or Tomato then the router should run a lot better

try looking at your router's site. then see if there is a link to download what needs to be downloaded. if there's not. First, find what you're supposed to be downloading, then search it on google.

Dude i have xp and vista and my router doesnt work with either. I have a Cable and wireless router( they give no support). I think u have to contact ur service provider before setting up a wireless router, because their firewall blocks the connection to the internet. As for gaming I have a DS Lite and it cant connect online using my regular Cable and wireless USB wifi and ICS, which works fine with my PC's. I was told u need a wifi max for console online gaming- its very cheap on ebay.

Yeah u dont need a router with wifi max. However thats just for ds and Psp. For all consoles choose wifi link, I heard thats the best. I havnt bought either but I heard it works fine from several people, and no router is needed.
