Im in the proccess of trying to rent this home for myself and my husband who just got out of the Marine corp. Its beautiful and you can see so much character thanks to you! i walked into the front door and decided i was done that was the one i wanted. great job!!
Ywrenr, We had faith in the area because it was experiencing the beginning of rejuvination. We made a plan and got bids on some items before we purchased the property. We then mapped out our work schedule to complete the job. It was a big risk but it panned out and we learned A LOT! We basically got paid to learn how old homes work. We are continuing the work and have now been involved with fixing 15 homes in the area.
I'm curious: why would you take on this project having never done it before? What made you think a) you could do it, and b) that it was worth saving? Serious questions, not being sarcastic. I come from an area where places just fall down from neglect rather than be renovated, and I hate that.
Lyric, you should drive by the place. These photos are 6 years old. The place looks better now than we left it back then. Don't knock it till you see it.
wow the difference between night and day. That sounds like a nightmare. Guess you got it done. Good job. Got a house down in Ogden too. Hopefully not as much work.
