The BBC should do a NEW SERIES with the SAME CAST.. They could call it THE OLD ONES... It would be interesting to see how these CHARACTERS AGED... Maybe the PUNK looking one could NOW BE A MEMBER OF THE BRITISH CONSERVATIVE PARTY..
@traveleasterneurope NO ,that would not work maybe the name but the idea of the conservitive party is shocking. however .it would be good to see the characters all wake up in hospital to discover that they have aged .that they have been in a coma since the bus crash in the holiday episode .so basically they aged after the explosion and have missed out on most of their lifes.the seires could be about them experiencing what the new world is like .even a joke about the new goverment and riks views
@Htos1 totally... Madness FTW! They were so awesome when they appeared every now and then on the show. Like, just randomly on the street half the time ;P
"The theme song" is actually a song of the same title called "The Young Ones", and it was made by Cliff Richard and the Shadows in around 1961. Apparently, Rik Mayall (at least in the programme) was a big fan of Cliff Richard, and it's probably why they used his song as their theme.
...VERY LOOOONG!!

Here are the lyrics:
"Once in every lifetime,
comes a love like this,
Oh, I need you, you need me,
Oh my darling, can't you see?
Young Ones, Darling we're the Young Ones,
The Young Ones, (Rick) Shouldn't be afraid,
To live, love, there's a song to be sung,
'Cause we may not, be the Young ones, very looong!"
