Nick is a good fighter. I never said he needs to go 100%. I said his mechanics could use improvement. You can throw a punch with 50% power with good mechanics that will be more powerful than another punch thrown @ 50% power with less than ideal mechanics. Does that make any sense? I am not saying Nick has a poor record or that he is a shitty fighter. I am saying that power is an area which he has room for improvement. He could still play his game but be more dangerous.
One thing I like about Nick Diaz, besides that he's one of the toughest son-of-a-bitch's ever, is that despite his constant warrior attitude, he never tries to overdo his finishes, like Ken Shamrock or someone. He never tries to hurt his his opponent beyond what's required once he knows he's won the fight.

@magana2009 All I am trying to say is that his power is the weak part in him game. If he had more power (which he has room for improvement on) than he would be that much more dangerous as a fighter. In a sport like this it is wise to work on and improve your weaknesses and in his case, I see power being something I would work on if I were him. It seams his skill has overcome his lack of power in many cases but he could do better.
and you know this how? By watching online? Get real. Plus, he chooses not to punch 100% most of the time. Only when he's crippled his opponent does he get near 100%. The point is, he doesnt need to go all out.

He connects with good accuracy but has issues finishing.

Nick Diaz has always been a safe fighter. He will land the blows that he knows will connect. His game is cumulative blows, not 1 shot ko's. Nick is a good fighter. I never said he needs to go 100%. I said his mechanics could use improvement. You can throw a punch with 50% power with good mechanics that will be more powerful than another punch thrown @ 50% power with less than ideal mechanics. Does that make any sense? I am not saying Nick has a poor record or that he is a shitty fighter. I am saying that power is an area which he has room for improvement. He could still play his game but be more dangerous.

One thing I like about Nick Diaz, besides that he's one of the toughest son-of-a-bitch's ever, is that despite his constant warrior attitude, he never tries to overdo his finishes, like Ken Shamrock or someone. He never tries to hurt his his opponent beyond what's required once he knows he's won the fight.

@ITSYABOIBOIYUNGDUBB I am bigger than Nick and have been in martial arts and boxing most of my life and I can tell you I have been hit harder by bigger harder hitting guys. I am not saying Nick is a puss or anything. All I said is he has no power in his punches. He connects allot but only has 2 KO's on his record. Several TKO ref stoppage fights that could have been KO's if he could hit harder. Listen, he is a good fighter, I just think he needs to work on power a little bit. Punching mechanics.

@helicrashpro dude half of his wins are from ko/tko's how can u say he has no power?? i live in lodi so i see the diaz brothers alot yea they could improve strength but they wont lol not their style they dont lift weights a whole lot just alot of conditioning but i dnt believe he has a problem finishing people or a lack of power and you have never been hit by him so how would u kno how hard he hits?

@magana2009 All I am trying to say is that his power is the weak part in him game. If he had more power (which he has room for improvement on) than he would be that much more dangerous as a fighter. In a sport like this it is wise to work on and improve your weaknesses and in his case, I see power being something I would work on if I were him. It seams his skill has overcome his lack of power in many cases but he could do better.

and you know this how? By watching online? Get real. Plus, he chooses not to punch 100% most of the time. Only when he's crippled his opponent does he get near 100%. The point is, he doesnt need to go all out.
And believe it or not, his opponents will suffer more long term damage from taking so many shots, 100% or not.

@stubaru I know this form watching all his fights and comparing his apparent lack of finishing ability to other top fighters oh and my 13+ years of MMA experience helps as well. All I am saying is that if he changed a few things in his punching mechanics he would be a more dangerous fighter. You can say all you want that he is trying not to hurt his opponent 100% but we all know that is BS. You are out there to win and finish the guy. He connects with good accuracy but has issues finishing.

For 13+ years of experience, you don't talk like a smart fighter. Don't you understand that going for 100% shots means you are way more vulnerable to a counter? Nick Diaz has always been a safe fighter. He will land the blows that he knows will connect. His game is cumulative blows, not 1 shot ko's. You may say he has issues finishing, but his fight record seems to be just fine the way it is. Something's working.
