Generally shows like this eventually "jump the shark", thankfully Breaking Bad has managed to avoid that. If season 5 is indeed the final season and they manage to pull it off without "jumping the shark", Breaking Bad will go down in TV history as one of the greatest TV series ever aired. BB just isn't the type of show that can continue on indefinitely. Thankfully they have an endgame in mind and are working toward that, rather than attempitng to prolong the show needlessly.
Vince Gilligan: I got a show I'd like to pitch to you
Page 01: We open up on a beautiful setting, red mountains. Trousers are falling from the sky, they hit the ground, and an RV rolls over them. Inside, there's a middle aged man only wearing tidy widy underwear and a respirator, driving madly. In the back, two dead bodies sliding up and back in a sea of fluid and glass; Another man passed out with a respirator.
@gears5336 I have been a devoted fan of both shows since the beginning-very different points of view both good. I think B&B is a more realistic look at the scenario at play & more shocking
@binxsmomma i love both shows! but absolutely love BrBa for its more serious drama and quiet humor, where Weeds puts more smiles on my face and tickles my soul. It gives me a break from all the jaw dropping and gasping i do watching BrBa
For those of you wondering, the network who they initially pitched it to was FX. Which actually wouldn't have been a bad pairing, considering what that channel has done with dark dramas like "Justified" and "Sons of Anarchy."
If weeds had caused the un-birth of breaking bad.....just the thought is making my blood boil
