The actors in the movie were incredible. However, this musical was not movie-goer friendly. It simply was not the right vehicle for the caliber of talent that starred in the film. Honestly, it should not have been made into a film.

@Scarcro1 I wouldn't say no to a film adaptation, but I believe the production focused too much on getting big actors/actresses for the roles that they didn't see how tasteless this movie is. It's trying so hard to be glamorous and 'italianised' that it goes very far from it. I blame it on the screenplay rather than on the direction. I believe the film's finest moments were the ones with Cotillard, Loren and Lewis.

I cannot believe they did not get any awards. I thought Judi would definatley win something for her role. At her age on top of the piano so much like her earlier Caberet Musical. Her throaty voice is so seductive when she sings. She is an amazing actress who is dedicated to her fans.
