  • @BunBo95 Good explenation of Bioshock:D

  • you know a game is good (COUGHbioshockCOUGH) when you can actually pull off mentioning it in a college application essay that you wrote while listening to the soundtrack.

  • Interesting for a survival horror game you hear these lugubriously heart wrenching violins. Like it almost encourages you to demonstrate humanity in a distopia like Rapture.

  • @metallichika you said it perfectly

  • no thumbs?

  • if i get 100 thumbs up this will be my ringtone!

  • These EARS!!!! TAKE THEM OFFF GET THEM OFFFF THESE EARSSS!!!!

  • DAmn, so hauting song

  • Hearing this song is unexplainable. I feel empty when hearing this, like a ghost of myself.

  • when i finished bioshock and i saw jack in that bed with the little sisters he saved, and then played this music i said "oh my god i am gonna cry" this game makes me emotional. this game is so good best game ever.

  • 1 guy deslikes the option to dislike cause you can't dislike bioshock anything

  • I wonder why nobody disliked this..

    oh that's right..

    BECAUSE IT'S FxCKING AMAZING!! ;D

  • this is a beautiful piece of music

  • Like this video. Would you kindly?

  • if you like this soundtrack, you should listen to you my medley that you may like too youtube.com/watch?v=ddLhAnSIKU0

  • Love this soundtrack! I like the first bioshock game's soundtracks. ^^

  • WOULD YOU KINDLY like this video?

  • I went to download the files it all worked out except for track 6. For some reason track 6 won't download properly and also there is no track 10 in the list. but otherwise thank you so much for making the music available!

  • Can someone upload that song that plays in the lighthouse right before you first enter the bathysphere?

  • Comment removed

  • I chose.... Rapture.......

  • Bioshock... the game is so purely epic that you just say Bioshock in a low tone voice and you will feel good about going to Rapture and exploring it.

  • this is the bioshock 2 theme i think bioshock's main theme is pairbond

  • @Agent1478963 Other way around.

  • @Agent1478963 No, this is definately bioshock 1's main theme. Besides, look at the date this video was uploaded, bioshock 2 didn't come out for another few years.

  • @oxbowthegreat yes i know i had it the other way around :P

  • never heard this song in the game

  • @nike21178 it's the song in the ending, good ending only i think tho not sure about that

  • Comment removed

  • @Agent1478963 yeah now that i have both and played them i now know that this song is in there. and guys that this song is not in this game its when dealta is dying slowly over the trench the song kida goes on

  • This music touches me, because i connect it with bioshock. Its awesome.

  • we all make choices, but in the end, it is our choices that make us.

  • the beginning sounds like sixth sense

  • Would you kindly?

  • One of the best games in the world!

  • FEAR FACTORY's Timelessness (on the Obsolete album) anyone ?

  • This song makes me cringe. In a good/creepy sort of way.

  • this is an awsome game great setting and enviroment its not scary its more like a adrenaline rush like how u would hear a splicer and not know were they were and this theme song is purely awsome sadness and depression matches this and halos them is great while that one is noble and courages i think but this is by far one of the best games i played in my life

  • I didn't think the game was that scary... Play Doom 3, and you'll see what real scary is like.

  • This game is great, it's very deep... This music is sad, it's that bit where Andrew Ryan's family die.

  • this is a great game and i cant wait for the sequel i hope they take it in a new direction...like its on the surface..i would love to see that

  • If any System Shock fan gives me shit about Bishock being inferior to their PC games, I'm just gonna link to this theme....

  • this song is awsome

  • wat part ofbioshock 1 is this?i dont remember any of this, only in bioshock 2

  • Part of this track makes me sad. =[

  • i luv bioshock and dead space.cant wait 4 bioshock3 and dead space 2

  • Good stuff !

  • Isn't this the theme from bioshock 2 right before rapture (or part of it) surfaces at the end of the game?

  • yes its when big daddy is crawling up to big sister who either drowns or saves lamb.

  • @scottsan101

...and I think the first few notes of this piece is used when the Big Sisters are on their way...

  • I really like the music from this game

  • Bioshock and Dead Space are the creapiest games I ever played

  • I always thought Silent Hill games were more creepy. :)

But hey, each for it's own.

  • awesome

  • Sends creep down your spine.

  • Music fits so well in the game.

  • "Welcome to Rapture."

  • BIOSHOCK (the best game i have ever played)

  • agree

  • i have never played a game and been so scared in my entire life and enjoyed it so much the music, the atmosphere, the script. 'now would you kindly pick up that shortwave radio'

  • @DrSparxxxs If you think this is scary, play Dead Space

  • @saosinlunatic it's not about the scare...it's about a feeling..anybody can designe some creepy monsters and make them jump at you from a dark corner..bioshock has way more than that.. you live the game when you hold the controller.

  • @CRACKERSANDTUNA I agree with you. This game is very immersive... Right from the beginning, and to the end.

  • @saosinlunatic dead space is not that scary, play some japanese games to really know what the fear is dude!

  • i love this game

  • 'A man chooses, a slave obeys.' - Greatest line ever. That and, of course, 'Would you kindly.' =D

  • Yes the soundtrack is fantastic, also love the 60s gramophone music, i must've lived in that time, because i'm so drawn to this kind of music ;)

  • Actually, the gramophone music is from the 30s - 50s.

  • same wit me :)

  • A MAN CHOOSES a slave obeys

  • @bvosman Spoiler alert, jeeeeeeez. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaate.

  • @bvosman *Whacks andrew ryan on the head with a putter

  • i think the soundtrack is one of the things that makes bioshock so good, its simply beautiful along with the game and its amazing art style, lighting, and sound effects. it simply has to be (in my opinion) the best game i have ever played

  • @MusicianJester1295

I agree and the second is just as good in my opinion. Both are a work of art.

  • @thm951 yes lol, i also love Fallout 3 for its soundtrack (as well as AMAZING gameplay) and i was amazed when i started playing fallout 3 back when it was released and realised some of my favourite classic blues musician's had been recognised by the game haha

  • @MusicianJester1295

Never play F3 although I have heard its pretty good. I just passed Dead Space and that was a pretty amazing game, it had quite a bit of similarities to Bioshock. One of them would be the amazing atmosphere.

  • @MusicianJester1295 I second that!! (The second installment lacked the gloominess, it reminded me of a normal shooter... Almost)

  • @MusicianJester1295 Have you heard that soundtrack for fallout 3? it is pretty similar

  • Bioshock has a more unique and interesting storyline alot better than fallout 3, fallout 3 is amazing though probably better than oblvion...It really is a tie i'd say, both are great games get them both, if you like RPGs better get fallout, if you like a good game front to start get bioshock...

  • BioShock definitely beats down Fallout 3, despite the fact that they are both amazing games.

  • Both have their ups and downs. but I personally stopped playing bioshock after beating it for the first time.. while I had fallout 3 for years and still play it. Bioshock has excellent music, Great level design and a great concept, while fallout 3 has HUGE replay value, decent gameplay, and gives the player a better chance to make the charicter the player's own creation. Both GREAT games, and as I said.. have their own pros and cons.

  • There is where their strengths diverge; BioShock is a much more fulfilling (in my opinion) game for its story mode (the only mode; therefore they put much more effort into an emotional experience), while Fallout 3's strength lies in its replay value. I also think BioShock is better graphically for its use of lighting, color, and art style.

    But that's just me.

  • CRY, THE BELOVED COUNTRY.

  • best single player shooter ever

  • bioshock is sad but i wish they like recolonized it but its probly lost forever now that jack is dead

  • beatiful u.u

  • I felt like i was kinda tough before, but i actually cried when i played bioshock.

Awsome music, Great script, Amasing Game.

  • So Did i and i got chills and it was just so amazing ^^ but then agian for some reson i cryed for pokemon dungen ?

  • Video game music. True art.

  • @Joshadow2745 i think this one has the best video game music ever

  • Sounds sad, like you just got to Rapture and you already realize how much you miss the surface, how you long to see the sun again.

  • Altruism 4tw

  • This song is so sad...It kinda makes you feel bad for the splicers for bieng forced to live like this...

  • i love how this was based on the book atlas shruged and how Ayn Rand was so anti-government and her name is closely spelled to Andrew Ryan love Bioshock and cant w8 for 2nd one

  • loved this game SO MUCH

dying to see the 2nd one :D

  • oh god this game changed my style of playing games now that i only can play a shooter thriller with a huge golden story.

gotta love bioshock. first game ever to really get me pumped and so into the story as if you are really living in rapture!

P.S don't read any reviews or handson cos major plots twist are revealed. have that full bioshock entertanment with out spoiling it.

  • For too long, have I heard the cry of "HALO!" over the relatively small voice of "RAPTURE!". It's time, as Andrew Ryan famously never said, "to grab a Tommy and start shootin' at those heretic fanboys!"

  • woooh! that was nice!

  • The game was very sad indeed. I think that the real point to it is that: If given too much freedom people will abuse it and if given too little they will rebel. It really explains why so many forms of government fail, they just can't find the right balance. If only people were really good and honest at heart...

  • its simply best game ive ever player, and if u play is slowly and understand its storyline rightly its really sad, made me wanna cry at some parts :'(

  • where can u get the soundtrack?

  • i think bioshock can be sometimes a very sad game i mean as atlas said it turned into a living i mean little girls being turned into monsters, normal people turned into sycological killing machines, and finnaly things in huge suits protecting the little sisters i mean komon its like how the hell did this happen

  • This is what happens when they are no rules.... rules and ethics keep people in line.

  • All the events in Bioshock happened because Ryan forbid any contact with the outside world, thus creating a lucrative market for smuggled goods (Fronted by ex gangster Frank Fontaine). After the discovery of ADAM, Fontaine used the gene altering properties of ADAM to create an army of splicers to wage war on Ryan.

Any society which is separated will eventually collapse, look at Waco...

  • hmmm ethics maybe.. a moral code certainly but if i've learned anything in this life it's that rules and ideologies cause wars. rules and laws only punish people who contradict them even though they never asked for the rules in the first place.

rapture is a perfect example of revolution held at bay for a promise of happiness.

andrew ryan's ideology : freedom of expression

    his rule: controll

a man after my own heart

  • yeah u know where the soundtrack is?

  • @iRamUrMother To quote ItsJustSomeRandomGuy, rules become options and people become fertiliser :D

  • @iRamUrMother ...says the Parasite

  • @iRamUrMother anarchy is the only solution fuck the government they keep to much in secret and it pisses people like me off

  • @iRamUrMother yeah! people need to stop with all the freedom bullshit. humanity is far from ready to handle freedom.

  • Your right it is such a sad game. Looking at everything that happened makes you so depressed and how it all began. Innocent girls that were transformed into the demonic little sisters, subjects that had their skins and organs grafted into the suit for the big daddies, splicers that were transformed due to overusage of plasmids, EVE and ADAM its just so messed up.

  • lol, you are a casual gamer then, go to play viva piñata

  • @zarenlug20 that games soo much fun

  • This is the beggining song right?

  • yah u play as a person in a big daddy suit that wonders around rapture while one of the sisters u save in the first one grows up and goes bak to rapture to visit again. and things are worse than ever

  • No no. In Bioshock 2, you are the original Big Daddy, the only one given free will, and the ability to use plasmids. The older woman in the game, the "Big Sister" is supposed to be a step above the Big Daddy on the hierarchy of the Big Daddy/Little Sister structure. You can think of her as an overseer of sorts, meant to make sure things flow smoothly. Obviously, after the city went to hell, it's certain she went haywire as well. Beyond that, no other story material has yet been released.

  • So basically the Original Big Daddy is a savior of some sort?

  • Savior or villian. Your choice, just like the first Bioshock. They haven't said yet why he's still down there, and why he comes into the picture only now.

  • I can't wait for it, it sounds good. I hope they don't put xbox live. I believe that it helps the players focus on the game and also the producers will focus on the gameplay rather than the online multiplayer action

  • I think the guys behind Bioshock know their audience pretty well, given their ability shown with Bioshock 1. They've got a big plate to work up to though. People will be used to the idea of Rapture and all, and they're gonna have to really pull out the stops to make it as big. They can do it though, their writers are top notch. Those guys are what I aspire to be like. It takes all the elements to pull it off, but the story is what makes this game and all games great.

  • they are going to put in multiplayer, no co-op. which, too, would ruin the game.

  • NO! NO MULTIPLAYER! F*** MULTIPLAYER! A really game would have a story to focus on

  • I meant real*

  • they can do both

  • but then you will be distracted by the live gameplay.

  • the multiplayer will have a story too , it'll show players how the civil war started , so they will have a story for the multiplayer too wich is awsome

  • ohhh, okay multiplayer is okay.

  • She also collects the little sisters and brings them back to Rapture, then tries to bring the city back to the original state of madness it was in the begining of Bioshock. She has a metal basket on her shoulder to carrie the little sisters. (also i heard that the little sisters give you a special adaption when you have one in the basket.)

  • Are you inferring that after they were saved during Bioshock 1, that the Big Sister somehow went to the surface, captured them all again, and then brought them back to rapture? I think it's more likely that there were just more little sisters down there that they didn't manage to bring up. The developers have said you're going to be going into the sea itself, to access parts of rapture that were sealed off due to the damage prior ot the first bioshock. There could be more in there.

  • WOO RAA!

  • I think that about sums it up right there.

  • OI NEED YOU TO HELP ME FOIND MOI FAMILY

  • BIOSHOCK = BEST GAME EVER

  • beutiful game i cant i am going to shit my self if bioshock 2 dosent come out

  • it comes out late this year

  • going to upgrade my pc and enjoy it alone in the dark with 5.1 surround sound. Yes Bioshock 2 is worthy of Dx10, I don't feel like buying it on my xbox360 because I love it to death but fuck I can play it in my room in the dark w/o every worrying about oh shit my parents, I can pull all-nighters passing bioshock. I've passed it on hard no vita chamber, I have brass balls. So yeah I love bioshock, nice soundtrack. WOOT WOOT ready for bioshock 2.

  • ehh fuck me got gameinformer yesterday..... and no it taks place 10 years after..

  • actualy Bioshock 2 is suppost to take place before, during, and after Bioshock 1

  • mnot realy 10 years after bioshock 1 , rapture is broght back to life by a big sister, and u play as a hm...bigdady

  • wait...you play as a bigdady? :O

  • yeah the first bigdady ever created, u can find gameplay vids on utube(demo).. u like find what they did to u and stuff

  • okay :D thx ^^

  • You get to use the drill too which I'm really happy about

  • hehe wanna drill some splicers eh? ;p

  • You're supposed to get all the big daddy gear, as well as the ability to survive in the open ocean. In one scene, the Big Sister is upset with you getting involved with the Little SIsters, so she breaks open a wall in Rapture and sucks you out into the sea. Rapture's still been going the 10 years since Bioshock 1, and the Big Sister is supposed to be the overseer of the Big Daddy/Little Sister system.

  • when jack dies, he is revived by those tubes. but since ryan and jack have simular DNA then ryan might have also been revived. that's my thoery

  • But you know, in the teaser we saw a girl (probably a Little Sister) who was standing at the beach lookin' out over the great ocean. She was also holding a little doll, wich is supose to be a Big Daddy. These things are givin' us a few hints; I think that we're going back to Rapture again. Now I don't want to spoil the story.

  • perhapes ryan didn't die?

  • he had a fucking golf club stapped into his neck..how could he not fucking die?

  • what, did u c that guy take that hit from that nine iron golf club!?!? theres no way hes coming back man

  • because he has the same genetic material as jack. and so could use those revivle tubes!

  • If you check the vita Chamber in Ryan's room, you'll see that he turned it off...he's dead for good.

  • not saying ur wrong, but where is his room? or do u mean his office?

  • Yeah. I think I read that Ryan turned off the chamber because he didn't WANT to come back. He wanted Jack to get rid of the mind control, then kill Fontaine.

  • LedZebbelin: This is just a thought, but I recall that the Little Sisters were originally normal girls. It's possible that some of them came to Rapture from the surface, which would support Bioshock 2 being a prequel. It makes sense to me, anyway..

  • I love this Game so much..

I love it how they made the them in the late 50's..

i would love to live back then..

  • i would not love to live back then

First i couldnt have enjoyed the technology we have today and then the cold war was starting

  • if you lived back then, then you wouldn't be able to play Bioshock

  • But you could LIVE Bioshock, maybe.

  • I hope Bioshock 2 is comming fast!

  • Absolutely stunning game. Amazing a perfect 5/5 from me. Beautifully made.

  • god i got this game for the ps3 it deserve all the money i spend on it......amazing game

  • same here

  • this is so beautiful; words fail to get even mildly accurate with the true beauty of this song^^ 5/5 and favorited:D

    . )

    . )

    . )

  • BioShock is the greatest game ever created. Enough said.

  • Hear,hear.

  • Greatest game of the generation?

    Definitely

  • Well, just in case i watched the teaser trailer to bioshock 2. It was cool

    ~spoiler~

I think i saw a grown up lil sister holding a big daddy doll on a beach, then in seconds sand was coming out of the ground and was forming a small sand castle city like struckture almsot reminding me of Rapture. But thinking they are grown up, the city might be totally flooded by now.

  • Where did you get this? I have been searching everywhere, but I guess I missed a spot.

  • The entire soundtrack came on a special "BioShock" bonus disk that came with my subscription to PC Gamer Magazine. ^_^
