  • Probably best of latter Steely Dan tracks - Sublime melodies especially in middle eight :)

  • Recommended: Google keywords "Pixeleen" and "SongMeanings", you'll get the lyrics in full and a couple of inspired comments/suggestions to interpreting it.

  • Absolutely nobody does slick production, übercool harmonies AND sardonic wit like Steely Dan. Pure class!

  • stf sunset

  • SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

  • Smooth, through and through.

  • i thought i was a die hard fan and im amazed at the songs i have never heard

  • Totally sublime and memorable tune. Definately a 10/10 steely dan track

  • love this song, stuck in my head all day

  • Is there anything remotely close to this quality now?

  • @deanculvert Dude you know it's all downhill when a pap-artist like timbaland is cited as some godhead ground-breaking producer, I mean please.........me, you and the other real music lovers are gonna have to dig real deep & I mean deep for that particular rich seam!

  • @deanculvert -if you find something let me know

  • I am hooked on this song... it gets better and better with every listen. I agree props should be given to Carolyn Leonhart she adds that special touch to the song.

  • ONE OF MY FAVORITES,GOD BLESS STEELY DAN GROUP ............

  • awesome!

  • Yeah, you have to give it up to Carolyn Leonhart for this song. She's awesome.

  • beautiful song

  • there's that same drum track, again

  • this is one of my favorite songs...

  • Just saw SD at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA, they were outstanding. Outdoor amphitheater that seats only 2500, Fagan and Becker never sounded better. Carolyn Leonhart and the other two female vocalists were at the top of their game as was Jon Herrington. In the jazz world, Carolyn Leonhart has been compared to a young Ella Fitzgerald in terms of pure talent and voice.

  • The harmony and interplay between Fagen and Leonheart starting at 2:12 ('symmetrical and clean') is simply sublime. And people said Fagen couldn't sing. Pah! They blend well together.

  • @SaxyDan54 Mr. Fagen has and Rick Danko of 'The Band' had those non-voices that you either love or hate ... and I just love 'em.

  • @SaxyDan54 yes symmetrical and clean. Glossy and cool. Black and smooth, shimmering and elegant. I was looking for Negitive Girl with that dark beautifull xylophone passage......

  • @SaxyDan54 -its an inspired moment

  • Killer tune. Two brilliant smart-asses (Becker and Fagen) serve up their indictment of the public's addiction to all things fake, and ridicule our demand that reality be "symmetrical and clean." Great lyrics, touching on several double standards. Great music, too. (In other words... typical Steely Dan.)

  • Sarcasm, never... ;)

     Great tune!

  • Donalds depiction of today's media / plastic image, throw away youth.

    Absolute brilliance.

  • snare drum is mixed up too loud on this CD -

  • *sigh* I wish I could say I liked EMG as a whole, but there's so many sub-standard tracks that I just can't bring myself to. Even this track (possibly my favourite from the album, along with Godwhacker and Lunch with Gina) doesn't quite meet the heights of their other albums. Two Against Nature was better, but still had too many samey tracks. That being said, I absolutely love Morph the Cat.

  • Had Donald written this song about a Gentile girl, he may have entitled it Schicksaleen. Perhaps.

  • takes bassline for a walk

  • Just lovely!... lets hope The Powers That Be leave this on for our enjoyment!

  • I dig this satirical tune, if that is what it is. A great song!

  • I hated this album when I first heard it, but tracks like this really grow on me.

  • I love it.....

  • what a composition ! genius. sounds more walter than don

  • WHY did my ears have to hear this ..........

  • @cape228

    He says favouriting 50cents...

  • great steely tune !!!!

  • i've always loved this song and now i'm reading the lyrics; be good my three-times perfect ultrateen. animation born of real life, concepted, pitched, storied, recorded, distributed, for the edification of the many who listen. to become aware of the mechanics and beauty of creation.

  • Golly. Great satire along with great music.

  • "Just a flash of spectacular thigh! " Baby!

  • Finally! thanks
