Ha ha, mine does that too. You have to swipe down like that to answer a call. I often lose the call because that swipe down action won't work. I love the phone and hate it at the same time. I think I will go back to Sony Ericcsons after this. Still have another 10 months to go before my free upgrade with T Mobile though. Also the letter 'e' doesn't work on the keyboard. So I can only get a letter e if it brings it up with predictive text.
Just got my digitizer and fitted it, it is a definate fix for this, will cost you just under ten pounds from ebay with the tools to do it aswell, and just follow one of the dissasembly videos on youtube ( how to replace digitizer htc wildfire ) , you cant go wrong if you follow step by step. message me if it worked and let me know. i googled this problem for hours and could not find a solution, so i hope this helps you.
GAH i had th esame problem and i tried a Factory Reset.. Now nothing works.. i mean the Touch screen doesn't respond at all. I can't even pick up a call.
@cariad81 I think it's a rare fault. If it does do this, then get it replaced under the warranty. They are brilliant phones when they work. Having said that, I had to get a budget Android smartphone for someone this Christmas and chose a Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray instead... :)
i have same problem, so did my bro with his, but his fine now. hoping my will sort itself out too. i can send it back but i really cant be bothered with it and they will only give me used one and one i have is in good nic.
@rapeyadog the problem on this unit was intermittent - it would sometimes work. But, it often came back. So, if your unit is in warranty I would suggest getting it repaired if you can see the fault at all.
@TobiasChr96 in this case the problem was fixed by HTC replacing the unit at a third attempt at repair. I am guessing that it might be repairable by replacing the glass screen and digitiser. The parts are available on the internet but doing the repair yourself might be tricky and would invalidate the warranty. I suspect it is a manufacturing flaw in the digitiser, or alternatively an assembly fault making the flexible cable or connector not work properly.
