  • who could have hurt such a gorgeous guy he got knocked down but whoever you are he got up again

  • I know Brian was injured in the beating, but he adapted to his new voice and the band changed its musical sound and format resulting in MIND BLOWING ROCK MUSIC!!!

  • Brian"s voice wasn't only affected by alcohol...he got kicked in the throat! R.I.P Brian & Mick.

  • I'm glad there's plenty of videos of them in what I'd like to call their "golden" era 1974-1977

  • Brian was the greatest singer! Even at that time. He still had that huge grade of range in his voice (heavy and ballads)

..The voice problems occured in about 1980 and quickly developed sadly. Never the less...My all time hero!!! BRIAN 4ever!!!!

  • great song. it's such a shame that the talent and voice of brian connolly was damaged by the alcohol. he was a great frontman and the diversity of music this band played really showed their talent. their music was underrated and thanx to youtube, their music will live on and be appreciated by new generations of people who weren't around in the 70's. thanks for this video and RIP Brian and Mick.

  • Totally agree

  • Quit repeating the same quotes in every thread.

  • sorry if i'm boring you.

  • I'm not sure punks ever saw The Sweet as dinosaurs. In fact I think they had a soft spot for most of the glam rock acts. This song is actually pretty punky.

  • after he said f------, it sounds like the guys added some interistind lyrics. ... go up yor nose? sorry, my cat is helpng me type.

  • What? You are calling these fine musicians 'dinosaurs' ????? Shame on you!

  • Too right I am, I could probably think of a few other names for other bands of their genre... Dare I mention the name Gary Glitter??? Funny thing is I went to see the glitter band and theey were great and who do you think was propping up there barr? Glitter himself who did get up and do a few numbers when he was obviously pissed enough and I do remember at the time enjoying it??!! Not so sure if I would have the same opinion of them if I saw them today but it certainly takes me back

  • What the hell have Gary Glitter or the Glitter band got to do with Sweet?? You obviously know absolutely nothing about music. Sweet could wipe the floor withG G - he was just a gimmick 'singer' who wasn't talented enough to make it any other way...Sweet were a serious rock band and should never have gone near Glam - they were outstanding and proved this when they released their own material, instead of leaving it on B sides... Inform yourself before making stupid comments.

  • its hilarious how the artual lyrics say "FAR FAR FAR" and connoly says "FUCKING FAR" ! RIP Mick Tucker and Brian Connoly. Legends aren't always remembered.

  • oh and the rest of the band is like smiling after what he said. ahaha

  • @TheJohnnyMetal not just smiling, laughing as was Brian. He couldn't sing for a few bars he was laughing so hard.

  • WOW!!!

  • One of my favorite Sweet songs!!!

And yes, Brian had the best hair ever in pop :) And he is the best!

  • I'm so glad I'm exploring more songs by these guys theyre sick! Dont stop at the greatest hits!

  • It exists an other version, a little more harder, a real Metal-Song

  • Brain had the best hair ever in pop.

Today I don't have much hair left, but if I had I would wear/cut it that way :o)

  • pure blisslive for today sweet for ever lets get it out on single

  • LOVE THIS SONG

  • RIP BRian love you

  • The greatest song from the greatest band

  • Well... I've been 13 years old when this was on German TV.

I recall this was a previous recording. The host of that German TV show "DISCO" "Ilja Richter" said something about fog in England and the plane couldn't depart. So they didn't present the song they were suppost to present. Think it would have been "Stairway to the stars"

Btw. the (english) WIKIPEDIA article about DISCO does have this song listet on the 20th of August 1977.

There's another copy in better quality on youtube.

  • awesome!

    the hair^^

  • I agree totally; Brain had the best hair ever in pop.

Even today i try to wear/cut my hair that way.

  • you too?

    lol

  • Check it out @ 1:28 as Brian turns his back to the camera as he completes the "musical masquerade" line. The US version says "gone too far far far" but this version is what he really meant.

  • Andy Scott's Sweet have performed Lost Angels, Live For Today and Windy City in their live set.

    Alfred

  • i love brians hair

  • sweet, it is not sweet without brian

  • I totally agree, the reruns of wanna be Sweet should be ashamed of themselves, especially andy scotts sweet,he wasnt an original member.

  • einfach nur gaiil

  • der song sollte als single erscheinen, als

nachfolge von lost angels, was aber nie geschah.total unverständlich,da totaler

    hammersong der richtig abgeht.songwriting

    von sweet der ersten sahne.

  • what a song sweet realy rocking this would be some single today stero phonics na let the boys go to number one with it greatest band ever

  • I have to laugh, watching Steve and Mick chatting away as if they were having a cup of tea !

  • I know they do that on coco as well, its hilarious to watch them cutting up.

  • for 36 years the sweet have been my heroes they will b in my heart forever god bless mick and brian. derek.

  • Brian,as always,at his finest.Such a tragedy, his life,Sweet's Life. But then again, too many AGING bands still performing. So the legacy of Sweet will always be the one and only Sweet.Thats with all members and not just one member cashing in on Sweets legacy.Makes me sick what Andy has been doing with AS Sweet.I know Steve has a sweet title as well, but he was an original member..,Andy was not.RIP BRIAN AND MICK..,MUCH LOVE FROM YOUR FANS.

  • I agree absolutly

  • that had to be a brutal experience for the vocalist. That's a harsh song to sing. Really impressive recording.

  • i like the super compressed crazy harmonies - how did they do that?

  • This clip is of "Live For Today" which is an album track from The Sweet's album "Off The Record" (1977). Alfred (fountain on HSH).

  • I love the rebellion they had, no wonder cool bands like the Damned loved them ... Brian clearly used the 4 word it this recording, big no no back in the day Live for today - don't need your politician Live for today - don't want no inquisition Live for today - you gotta throw the rules away Counterfeit city Spending your life in their charade (sorry for yourself) Sincerely phony This musical mascerade has gone too FUCKING far You sold your clothes Now it's cold up your nose And you froze
  • i always thought it's a bit like Teenage Rampage for the adults. Love Sweet. Love the songs. Live Sweet. :D

  • The Sweet at its peak... nobody rocked harder or better!

  • super super super weiter so

  • Best
