i read somewhere that the US Veterans issued a recommendation to have the bells returned with no opposition from other veterans. but a disgruntled member of congress told the governor of wyoming to ignore this recommendation. hopefully it will be returned with no political agenda and with only keeping in mind the willingness for both filipinos and americans affected by this tragedy to move on and heal.
if the united states really recognizes the philippines as its immediate ally and diplomatic stalwart in the asia pacific region,,, it should by its free will and volation extend with a manifested effort to return the bells back to the historical town of balangiga... the clamor for the return of those bells has accounted 108 agonizing years since then, and the freedom loving people in that town is longing for those bells to be heard once again.
