I love Jane Austen and it just hurts me deeply to see her end up the opposite her characters ended there endings were "Happily Ever After" and yet when u see how she ended up u just feel something inside it makes me wanna cry :( (Actually to be truthful i did)
The ending breaks my heart, but for me what makes it sadder is that even if she hadn't read the letter, things probably would have happened as she predicted: that if their love destroyed his family, then it would "destroy itself in a slow degradation of guilt and blame." They were doomed either way. Now I've heard that this movie is mostly fiction.. .and I seriously hope it was, because if it all had been real then that would be too depressing. Poor Miss Austen :(
It's a bit awkward when he kisses her in the middle of the fight.. There is no other sound but him attacking her. I think a background music wouldn't hurt in that particular moment. Otherwise. I'm in love with this movie.
omg that habit of women to look at their guys stuff ( txt ) in this case letter gosh it bothers me and im a girl!!!! for real i have never done this and i hope i never do it
James is so amazing in this movie! He brings such passion to the role!! Makes it so believable! 1:40-3:08 I'm fixin to pack my bags and run away with him! LOL
This movie would not have been the same had he not been lefroy!
This is SO FREAKIN' SAD. Second time I've watched it... this time, after I read all of her works... so, so, SO VERY SAD. I cannot believe she didn't get a happy ending like the rest of the heroines in her novels. But I see where she gets her plot/content/substance from... I would be so heartbroken beyond believe. I'm sad just watching it. But I guess she poured her emotions into her works...and that's how she managed to write such wonders.
the part where james kissed anne... reminds me when my boyfriend grabbed me and kissed me when we're in the middle of the fight once... but, he's gone now.. unfortunately. but, James and Anne make the perfect couple..! =D
james and anne are beautiful together anne marie isnt the prettiest girl in the world but she is ok not ugly and has pretty hair but she seems sooooo sweet in her interviews!
6:34 - 6:46. He must have known something was coming...Why does family have to be a burden or a hindrance in situations like these when they are not intended to and does not intend to?
Agrhh! To think how many hearts were broken because of rank, title and wealth! What a sad period it must have been for people in love with forbidden fruit! Just thinking of heartbreak as that of Jane and Tom! If this story has any truth to that of Jane Austen's life, I hurt for her and Tom. It is no wonder she wrote great endings in all her novels... the deepest desires of her heart... what she couldn't have in her reality!! Bloody hell...
James McAvoy totally made this movie for me! Just look at the expression on his face when he tells George, "Please?" His eyes are so piercing as well. He seems so real and genuine, emotionally with his responses, you would never believe he's only acting in this. Reminds me of Brad Pitt's expression at the end of Se7en, even though they are completely different movies. They both seem to go to a place where it's like they're not even acting anymore, it's just amazing!
that would be Georde, Jane's brother, some people think he was mentally retarded, others that he was merely deaf, i believe he was deaf, Jane Austen was fluent in sign language and i read somewhere she usually "spoke" with George using this language... =)
After a few months babies were sent to a villager to care for til they could walk, talk, and feed themselves. If they did not develope properly they never returned home. This happened to Gearge, who could not speak and suffered from fits. He was sent away to a farther village and they never saw him again.
How do you guys know all this info? I've been told on other Becoming Jane parts that Lefroy had paid for all of Jane's books to be published. Now I learn that Georde had to go to a villager and he never came home. Where is all this fascinating information attained? So, when they did not see him again, did he just remain with the villager forever?
Im wondering this as well. Whered you get info on Lefroy paying for janes books to be published? I also heard on another comment on another video that LEfroy told his wife that he was in love with jane which I find hard to believe for didnt Mrs lefroy die before tom?
I believe Mrs. Lefroy did die before the Mr. But a lot of the information being posted by viewers sounds legit, although one never knows. I really would like to know where the info is coming from, though. It's so fascinating.
Because he supports his entire family with the money he gets from his uncle. He also isn't hired as a lawyer at this point and his uncle pays for his studies. It was hard times then.
zomg his blue eyes smite me.
