I'm so sorry that people have given you grief for your son. My older brother has AS. As far back as I can remember I have defended him to others. I'm seventeen and still defending him to people my age who should be more accepting. Your son is beautiful. Autism, man , I know what its like.I have autism.But I don't think It needs a cure.Do you know how many savants that became savants through the build up caused by autism? As a savant myself, a cure would make potential geniuses and savants never become.
@Latiasmasterball1234 Not all geniuses and savants are autistic. 1 in 10 autistic people have savant syndrome but only 50% of savants are also autistic so if autism was cured we would still have 50% of the savants. I do not think autism needs to be cured and actually I don't think it even CAN be cured because it is too complex. Autism intervention requires a combination of acceptance and change instead of the "let it be" versus the "cure it now" fallacy.

There are days when it feels like its the end of the world! I have son with Autism , there are days when he will scream uncontrolably 2 or 3 hours straight, beat on the walls, hit himself in the face because he cant find the words ,to tell you he wants a glass of juice!!! I have been at home for 3 years ,with him , he is six now , migraine headaches , lack of sleep , because Autistic children wake up at night,and wont go back to sleep,are just tons of fun!! GRR Bite me!!!!!!!
