@jovantheun1337 We do not create the leather, we source our leather from the finest tanneries from around the world. The lacquering process is performed at the tannery. Most stages of the preparation of patent leather are the same as for other fine quality leathers. However, it is in the final finishing stage, when it is coated with a lacquer to give it its characteristic glossiness.
@AllenEdmondsShoes any tips on how to dull patent leather to make it look like regular leather? i have heard milk and/or rubbing alcohol works. i have a pair of nice shoes, problem is parts of the shoe are patent while the rest is regular leather, im just not a fan of patent, any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
You mentioned lacquer. What exactly do you use to create your patent leather? It surprised me that you would use leather lotion.
