What if the boxer knocks out the wrestler before he makes him submit there is always that chance.
In this situation the wrestler managed to grab his opponent without getting knocked within seconds of becoming grappled against his opponent a skilled boxer would knock this wrestler out.
I´ll give you one too: Francois Botha. Francois Botha vs Ray Sefo (a kickboxer well past his prime): awesome fight to watch. Francois Botha vs Mighty Mo and vs Bonjasky. Botha went back to boxing after his disastrous incursion into K1 and won the Heavyweight WBF title.
@josepablobolanos and of course that guy didn't won anything against good boxers, lose against Tyson by KO in the 5th, lost to Lewis by KO in... the 2nd, lost to Klitschko by TKO, and of course lost against Holyfield by TKO too. All the good boxers with a name beat the hell out of that guy...
Yes. Your point is granted... but he WAS a top contender for a long time and he DID lose against not-so-good-anymore kickboxers and he DID eventually win his heavyweight boxing title. So belittling him allows boxing to save face???
If there were more boxers willing to put themselves on the line, I´m pretty certain what the result would be. But, then again, why would they risk getting mangled and embarrassed, right?
@josepablobolanos Well, this conversation shall have a closing. You think a boxer is no match for a martial artist / grappler and I think guys like you understimate a boxer too much.
Most people who doesn't know nothing about boxing, often underestimate this type of combat. I love boxing, so let me tell you briefly Rabanale's condition here: he couldn't see with his right eye (yes, i don't know how they allowed him to fight in that condition) due a rematch with Joichiro Tatsuyoshi that caused him retinal detachment, he was short of money and took this fight for US$ 5000 without any previous training and with just one eye. To me that wrestler doesn't deserve credit for this
@billysue2 Well my friend, then you know nothing about boxing. Some people say "if you catch the boxer, the fight is over" but ¿what if you can't catch him? ¿the who wouldn't do anything?. I mean a good boxer , not those guys in mma trying to box (and doing it really bad).
Oh, yes: the ever ellusive "good boxer" who would beat the shit out of all martial artists and grapplers. I've heard of him! Some people claim to have seen him and there are those who even claim to have met him. There are epic poems written about that mythical figure: the "good boxer". It's a pity that every boxer who ever stepped onto a K1 or MMA ring didn't measure up to Him. I hope I get to see Him fight and destroy all of us grapplers some day. That would be a real treat! xD
@josepablobolanos You talk about old boxers, guys totally out of shape and far away from their prime, guys who doesn't have the skills to step up to a boxing ring anymore, so they try this instead, and they do it just for the money tell me about a GOOD, FAST and YOUNG boxer in his prime on the sport of boxing fighting in an event like this, give a name... just one.
With due respect, my friend, I have to tell you that you miss the point (like others who argue the same thing you´re arguing). The answer to your question is: no one that I know of. Yet, "totally out of shape" and "far away from their prime" is appalingly false. Some were decent fighters who have gone back to boxing and won titles after their brief incursion into K1 and MMA. And the guys to whom they lost were not all kickboxers on their prime, either. Let´s not kid ourselves.
@josepablobolanos So you can give the name of those boxers? so I can check if they won any important fight im boxing... next time give names. I'´ll give you one: Terdsak Jandaeng; Muay Thai world Champion who made a decent career in boxing, that was of course until he fought an elite boxer, a good one, a real champion in his prime. Terdsak had the chance against the super light weight world champion Juan Manuel Márquez and Terdsak was knocked down 3 times then he lost by KO.
@josepablobolanos And im not saying boxing is better than MMA or any martial arts, Im saying most of you guys understimates boxing. Ok waiting for the names...
Victor Rabanales was a solid boxer

@shadowupper its irrelevant the state he was in,no boxer can do anything in a mma match unless they have grappling experience

Is this event a match? This is stupid.
It is a mere show.It is not a thing to watch seriously.

wrestling rules!
- Boxers: better stay with their boxing bags, don't step into the ring to fight wrestlers. You have no chance.

this was obviosly a match to benefit the (asian) wrestler or whatever thing the he is, besides Rabanales had gloves, poor Rabanales, he was setted up
jaraizac 1 year ago
The rules they drafted appear to be imbalanced and unfair.
The wrestler uses a move where his hands are involved and the boxer has to have gloves to dull his punches and limit hand movement.
This proved nothing
