  • I was hoping Rudy Guiliani and Larry Silverstein died in the helicopter. I'll NEVER FORGIVE THEM FOR 9/11

  • This report is the most accurate I've seen. The tower's jurisdiction ends before the river. Pilots are supposed to see and avoid in this area. Both pilots are responsible for this tragedy. I can't believe the controllers are taking any heat for this at all.

  • FoxNews fair & balance, O'reilly Factor & Glen Beck tell it like it is. Hannity annoys me.

    CNN, MSNBC liberal pos.

  • I flew this corridor many times. It's quite safe. But sightseeing helicopters think they own the skies over Hudson. They take off from midtown heliport and then make a climbing turn south. Certainly planes transiting the area can't see them below. On several occasions these helies flew right alongside my plane very close. Guess just to entertain tourists. And often they don't even bother to announce their position or intentions on the radio as they supposed to.

  • You are a typical stupid GA airplane pilot jerk off. Yeah we cant all see each other. Thats why WE talk on the radio. I've worked on the Hudson for years and every helicopter pilot out there is a skilled professional.

  • Call me stupid GA pilot. OK. Doesn't bother me. But I just transit the area. Keep the same altitude, same heading, same speed. Announce my position. But when someone is climbing from below and ahead of me a lower speed, how I am supposed to see him? This area was safe for decades. What sux it's that they will put restrictionst. And pros can be as dumb as anyone else. Commercial ticked doesn't make you any more careful. And flying the same pattern can make anyone more reckless.

  • What really suxs is that my friend is dead so some cocksucker like you can fly down the Hudson sightseeing rather than aviating. Why cant you just get up with tower? and btw central park is not a reporting point

  • I used to fly from Linden and Hudson is a very convenient shortcut to upstate NY, CT and MS. It's not sightseeing for me, though I always enjoyed the view. But sightseeing is a business to make money for cocksuckers like you. I've been observing helicopter operations and always knew that accident like this is waiting to happen. As I said before, on at least 2 occasions they deliberately flew very close to my Cessna, so I could see their faces looking at me.

  • Also look at NYC chart and tell me how else can I fly VFR from Linden to say Westchester County airport?

  • ver the years, thousands and thousands of airplanes and helicopters have safely plied their way through the Hudson River Corridor. The system sounds like anarchy, but it is extremely effective. Pilots tune in the Common Traffic Advisory Frequency of 123.05 MHz and start listening carefully and talking quickly. They announce their location, altitude and direction using easily identifiable landmarks as points of reference.

  • So what news channel do you guys like ?

  • anything but Fox (CNN or MSNBC will do most of the time). however some people on those channels can be annoying (Dobbs, Olbermann, and Schultz)

  • ummmm....yeah its the pilot's fault.....surprise there?

  • If the last crash was a miracle ... then this crash is a Tragicle!

    Thank God?

  • Thanks Guys

  • Nice video mate !

  • Yes Thank you for this video.

  • Yup Great Video ! Thanks.

  • Great video ! Thanks movieplanets.

  • fox news = redneck news

  • I lot of pilot chat here....anyone have a perspective from the ground???

Like, "Hey, can you guys watch out, I dont wanna get hit on the head with a helicopter"?

  • Fuck Fox News

  • Yea fuck Fox News!!!!!! Lmfaoooo.

  • I've flown this corridor many times as a helicopter pilot...it can be congested at times....you have to have your head on a swivel. The Liberty Pilots are all fairly low-time guys I think (building time-most have at least 1500hrs), but all the ones I've met were good pilots....I'm not sure about the airplane...where was the communication? Its a CTAF VFR corridor-anytime I've flown it, it was alive with CTAF chatter-I'd be willing to bet the airplane pilot had low time-anyhow, its such a tragedy.

  • could be one of those situations where oldmate is flying along and the chopper has come up and into the underside of the plane - in both pilots blind spots.

  • And rightfully so.

When you are flying "see and avoid" rules, its pretty much your fault when you don't "see" and you don't "avoid".

  • The weather was completely VFR. The rules of VFR are 'maintain visual separation.' When you don't, one of the pilots is at fault. Unless a malfunction caused the pilot of either aircraft to not avoid. This was pilot error.
