maybe it sound stupid i dont know, but this last episode helpt me to let go of my best friend( he's now living in another country, far away, to make his dreams come true) and not to be sellfish. even if it hurtsssss so thank u for this... thats love
this show is now over from about 2 years and people still wanted, still write on youtube videos, still talk about it,still mising it.why don't they arrange a 7th season, were shean comes back to the USA with his mind changed, and start working again with his partner chainging location, and start working in some place were they really need plastic surgeons, like Africa.
that's will be a great new starting for this series.HOLLYWOOD LET ME WRITE THE 7th SEASON OF NIP/TUCK (but don't stole me the ideas)
What would have made a better finale is the following:
1. Christian goes to prison for the first crime he & Sean commited and suffers in incarceration.
2. Sean leaves the country and would go to prison if he ever came back.
3. Matt redeems himself and gets married to someone who doesn't bring him down.
This was a great show but had a really dull ending. Sean was the only one that had a life-changing event. Only had Christian & Matt had better endings, it might have been a better finale.
For Christian,he realised that his possessive persona was holding Sean back from who Sean himself wanted to be-and despite attempts to keep the partnership together for his own gain-I was fucking really glad that he copped on to himself and let his best friend go be who he wants to be. It was good redemption for him to realise how much he fears change and how he hurts others because of it. Matt returning to Ava however, was a total disapointment. He deserved happiness and real personal closure.
@batboyjhg Yeah, that is true man, offering himself to her like that seemed to be the only sign of release on his face I saw in ages. But he will be a pathetic subservient to a person he knows will never love him,Avas only into him because she gets off on how he feels for her-its not mutual. Then of course, theres the matter of fact that hes taking his daughter along with somebody who used to shag her adopted teenage son. I wudda liked to have seen him get a better ending with somebody better.
@batboyjhg But,since the end of season 2-Matt was pretty much fucked up for life. And by season 5,he was totally over the ledge. He got waaay to attached to to any woman that said hello to him,and no matter how much it all blew up in his face,he never once got the ability to learn or change from the twisted tapestry he was making of his life. Good luck to him,but I still wish Christian spotted him at the airport, dragged his arse home and into a councelling chair to hopefully sort him out!
...moved to LA. And also in s5, Eden was a useless villian with no charachter background, unlike the rich detailed, deranged charachteristics written for Ava,Escobar and the Carver. The fact that her failed elimination of Julia was never resolved or heard from again was a dissapointment also.
But in s6,they swung things around, and brought the show back to basics. Good sub-plots, and a meaningful run-up to sean and christians eventual goodbye. It was nicely realised. A fantastic show, overall.
Some were dissapointed at the almost "ordinary" feel to the final episode-but thats exactly why it worked for me. No outlandish twists, no penis-less serial killers, nothing but a mature understated parting of friends. I thought most of season 5 was TOTALLY OTT in places-the charachters were utter bastards to eachother most of the time, with silly sub-plots and surgeries- the one with Stifflers Mom as a stupid jive talkin' rapper was the nadir. Utterly removed from how the show was before....
continued.. Christian just wanted to make money and do boob jobs etc but sean cared and wanted to help people and work in poor places like africa etc but TROY got into him and they became plastic suregeons I love christian and sean
This is a perfect ending to me becuase, the moral was of this series who ever stays around him for so long destroys themselves and has all his negative energy but he always lands on his feet and has the luxuries out of life, the episode with kimbers angel or dead body or we talkking to him saying the only way to get away was to kill herself and julia saying shes gna pray for sean becuase he will destroy him aswell and christian knew it and let sean go after all theese years!
After EVERYTHING they had been through I was really disappointed by this ending, I mean idk why but the promos and stuff had led me to believe that sean would like kill christian or something. Just a thought.
@wiiplaya25 haha i feel you, but i think its cuase kimber and julia said people around you, you suck out there souls and he loved sean that much he wanted to protect him and let him do what he wanted to do from the begining and help the needy!!! christian did it cuase he loved him!
kinda disappointed, not the happiest ending for me, sean leaves, his kids get taken away, and i would have prefered the last line of the series to be:"tell us what you don't like about yourself" :)
My girlfriend put me on this and i fell in love with it. its such a great show, we were both obsessed with it untill it ended. Now we're struggling to find a new show. Anybody have any suggestions?....
I just felt the ending wasn't emotional enough, and kinda lame....I mean Sean has left Christian literally dozens of times...what makes this time different? It's been made clear that they CAN'T stand each other but they also CAN'T survive without each other (twins episode) So why out of the blue can they magically depart after all these years? Plus I felt that there was absolutely no lesson to be learned in the end at all....especially on Troy's end....and what about the fucking CARVER!!!!!
Sean can leave Christian now because Sean doesn't have anything tied to him anymore(his family, matt, etc) the only thing left is the business , which is why when Christian finally realizes what he does to people(sucks their souls) he lets Sean go to be his own man. The Carver was resolved, he and his sister reside in Spain continuing their "work" they obviously haven't been caught since.
@ace19901227 That's another thing I don't agree with at all. How is Christian soul harvester? So ALL of the fucked up shit that EVERYONE does in the show is suddenly laid directly on Christians shoulders. I don't recall Christian telling Matt to fucking do meth and rob banks. Or Julia to be a cheating bitch that MURDERS a stranger! Or any of the HUNDREDS of immoral things everyone does in this show that has NO direct relation to Christian at all. It's ludicrous!
He's a soul harvester because whenever someone gets close to him, he chains them in too where they can never leave him(Seans job, Sean not going to Harvard, Seans broghter, fucking Julia right before Seans wedding, Kimber, etc) Yes theres a lot of fucked up shit everyone does, but think about how many situations Christian was responsible for. Matt's just an idiot, and WAIT when did Julia murder someone??? What????? But, yes Julia is a cheating bitch.
@ace19901227 Season 3 episode 12 Sal Perri, I believe it is....It's the episode where Julia thinks her mom was on a plane that crashed. Christian ends up finding what he thinks is Julia's dead mom via birthmark. Julia then talks to her "dead mom" only for her to jolt awake gasping for breath, then Julia proceeded to smother her with a pillow. Later she comes home to find that her Mom is not only safe, she decided not to go on the plane in the first place. Julia murdered an innocent...
Oh shit I forgot about that, but you can't really constitute that with murdering an innocent. That bitch was more charred up than a camp fire marsh mellow. She was taking(what she thought was her mom) out of her suffering. I'd wanna die too, also she thought that was her mom so it's not like she chose some random person and stuffed a pillow in her face. That episode freaked me out, I can't believe I forgot about that.
@ace19901227 Well, Julia didn't kill her "mom" because she was suffering. She killed her because, like I said, she literally jolted alive (they thought she was dead!) right after she was talking to her about how she was her own girl now and doesn't need her anymore. You could say it doesn't matter, cuz obviously the girl was unbelievably charred and suffering, but THAT IS NOT why Julia did it. Anyway you cut it, Julia took a life out of her own selfishness and hate towards her mother.
That part scared the shit out of me when I saw it, I'm still not convinced she "killed her mom" because she hated her, because she was booku worried when she thought her mom was on that plane, and she felt bad about what she thought was her last words to her. One thing we can agree on, is yes Julia is a selfish little bitch who I can't fucking stand, and also it was fucked up planting cocaine in her purse at the air port. I mean she did kick that perv out of the house.
@ace19901227 thats true, liz would of went if sean didn't go aswell its like they all moved on with there lives and left christian and sean together.. its crazy! but ur right christian stole there souls they became in love and obsed with him..
The ending with Sean looking back is perfect. They both cared for each other, but you always got the feeling it was more heavily on Seans' side. And of course the identical scene with him picking up Kimber. I stopped watching after season three, but I'm glad I found this clip of how it ended. Maybe I'll re-watch it and finish it with Netflix.
Im mad that it ended. This was the best show ever on t.v. I watched it from the very first episode all the way to the end. I did not miss one week.I wa glued to the t.v evry single episode and I totally wish it was back on...
Was my favorite show also. However it did go downhill after season 3, yet I still enjoyed it. Troy McNamara made the show. I can do without his Son's drama.
Kimber is alright, except for the bunions on her feet. You see a clear shot of them right before she jumped off that ship she puts her foot on the railing. total turn off :(
I think the ending was alright the only thing is after 30 years of friendship sure they had their ups and downs but the goodbye should have been more emotional. But then again Christian did send off because of his own actions. The final line gets me everytime
Am I the only one who hated this ending?I have to say,as one of the die-hard fans that followed this show from the first episode 'till the last one, that I am so deeply disappointed.Ok,the show had lacked in later seasons, but I was expecting sth more from the writers. This ending was boring and pointless,it didn't have the spirit of the nip/tuck we all used to know at all!Furthermore,no one of the characters seemed to be itself and Kimber's suicide just burst my bubble:(
@nataselw I agree with what you say, but let's be realistic. As you said, the show turned into something "strange", especially season 5 and 6. The show was all about "darkness" and "uncontrolled moments of life". I think this end was not done for "fans" but was just the perfect continuity of what writers showed us over the last couple of years. With what happened in those seasons, that end (everybody leaving alone) was the most logical end you could get. Not saying i'm fine with it though ;-)
@WhiteyRavensTH I think we have almost the same thoughts.I didn't complain about writer's decision to separate 'em,I agree that the ending should have been bittersweet in some way (the only thing that annoyed me was Kimber's suicide).I just felt that I was left wanting sth more.OK,There was definitely some level of closure.Maybe I wish we could see the aftermath of their decisions,I don't know!I’ll have to leave that to my imagination I guess.Anyway, niptuck will be missed..
I woke up one morning after enduring a frightening nightmare that Nip/Tuck had been canceled, only to realize that it had been 2 years since it had been canceled! My life is so boring and blase now... wish it could have gone on forever :(((((((
I couldn't believe they used this song on the series finale! It made me so happy I had been hoping they would ever since I saw season 2 finale! While the series finale wasn't able to recapture the emotion that the season 2 finale had for me it was still pretty good. The only thing that really suprised me was them actually leaving Kimber dead I always thought she surrvived the fall and it was a sad way for her character to end.
I watched this show from the very beginning..well about season 2 but I got caught up on Season 1 too.But nothing about this was was boring or lacking! Every episode was amazing, shocking and just mind blowing...Amazing Acting I believe this show had some of the best series actors period! The last 2 seasons were intense...
But Amazing...I kinda felt depressed when I found this season was the last.....I think the brought it back to the simple fact Everyone has a destiny..and they ended it right!
A bit dissapointing of an ending. Matt ends up with Ava??? Christian and Sean split up? Kimber is dead, Julia moves to London... none of it should have ended that way. Great show though... sad that it's over.
Was sad to see this one go. That blond gal at the end rather resembled someone I took French classes with in high school, so I checked the cast list on imdb and what do you know, it's the same person! Apparently she's also had cameo in the 1st episode of Californication. Not a bad start!
I feel sorry for Christian. Sean's gonna be ok eventually. He has his family and a more stable mindset. Christian has a lot of psychological baggage and it's hard to imagine anyone being happy living such a shallow life :(
I'm telling ya...I was the same! "Watched it once" and Fell in love...lol Badass series! amazing! It's so dysfunctional, yet romantic...off the wall! etc
It truly was a Unique Series..last 10 years! There haven't been many good shows that really excite, and draw you in.This did it...
the final scene! WAS AMAZING I WAS ALL SMILES!!!! LOL
its funny the cristain bar scence because thats how the show started and thats how it ended.god damn i mis this show they should bring it back 4 1 more good season
Couldn't have said it better myself. The purpose of plastic surgery for McNamara/Troy is to create symmetry. They wound up with perfect symmetry with the end echoing the beginning. This is one of the most perfect finales I have ever seen. The end is in the beginning.
@CarRamRod947 I remember seeing Julian Mcmahon on " Charmed " so when they killed him off I was wondering where he would appear next. When I saw ads for this show I knew his career was taking a quantum leap forward. This is the first show I've watched from beginning to end, second has been " Mad Men " and " Sons of Anarchy ". This one will always be my first love.
OMG I cried so hard when I watched this on TV ;( I love Christian and Sean. I think their friendship is one of a kind. They both love each other, but sometimes I felt that Christian loved Sean more and his final act just proved it. I never hated Christian, I don't know why, but I always felt sorry for him. His whole being an ass attitude is a way to protect himself from getting hurt. Being the predator is better than being a victim, like when he was a victim of child abuse, which missed him up.
i havnt seen the final season yet, but it seems like he maybe learned from all the seasons, but is going to continue doing w/e the hell he wants. as demonstrated by the final line that started the show in the first place.
I haven't got the chance to catch season 6 yet, but could someone please explain to me what happens at the end of this episode? The ultimate finale? Obviously, I can see that the two surgeons go off in separate directions but could someone give me a more detailed account of what happens? Did Christian force Sean to go? Where is it that Sean is headed? Would really appreciate it, thanks !
omg im bout to cry that was...it juss had me so emotional remebering when christian met kimber and yea (ifuseekamy) that girl didnt have nothing on Kimber i cried when she killed herself and like i said the end of this brought out so many emotion nip tuck been around so long feel fells like i was in the show with them
The final scene is exactly the same as how he met Kimber. True, he cheated on Kimber and they had their down moments, but he always loved her deep dpwn. When she finally killed herself, Christian was so wracked by guilt afterwards. Now, what this final scene shows, is him meeting this girl whom he may also fall in love with. And, if so, maybe he now knows not to make the same mistakes twice and, just maybe, there is hope for him after all.
@Fran12261981 I respectfully disagree. Earlier, Christian told Sean that he believed sean was the only one who could change. I think this simply shows that Christian is the same person he always was.
@wtg2989 I think the final moments show that Christian really did change. Throughout the series he was narcissistic and selfish (of course that was part of his appeal) and he only did for others if he had something to gain from it. But sending Sean off was the one truly selfless act he ever committed. Then he meets the Kimber replica. I think that's the relationship he's going to get right because he's aware now that it's not all about him.
@neionix Well, you raise a good point, and I feel it is believable. However, I just don't see it that way. Notice how christian uses that same smirk and "plastic Surgeon" thing at some random bar in the middle of the day. Just a ploy to get laid in my oppinion. But for whatever reason it was put in there, it was a very nostalgic and cool final few moments of a good show.
@wtg2989 I guess it was just one of those cryptic endings that stays open for interpretation. They need to come out with a N/T movie and clear it all up!!
@neionix. Exactly. I like that Christian was the one that changed the most in the entire series. Finally he understood that keeping around his best friend for his own benefit wasn't for the better. He forced Sean to go.
The ultimate scene with the blonde girl is very important : She looks like Kimber, and moreover, when Christian met her for the first time, it was exactly the same ! The blonde girl not only looks like Kimber, but acts the same, and Christian too !
So this scene means a lot, because Christian found his new soul mate !
I couldn't agree more!!! The Kimber look alike can never ever replaced Original Kimber. Christian has gone back to his old ways, but he will never get married again.... so the new Kimber she better w
personally i didn't like the ending. it was the fairty tale ending, and if you watch the show you know they're about everything but. I really thought christian, or both, would have ended up in jail or dead. They did so much shit i thought it was going to catch up to them.
In a way I did like it, but I agree that there should have been consequences for their actions. And I guess foreshadowing with Escobar's daughter was just a tease. Ideally, Christian should have been arrested in the airport after Sean's plane left (wraparound to the season one finale). That would have bought true closure, because the only Sean did the bad things he did was because of Christian. Sean deserves the chance to do some good, despite some of his negative actions.
Love how the final scenes use the music from the end of season 2 (best season ending), great call back to the first episode with the line between Christian and the chick at the bar
ima miss nip tuck =[ christian is my idol n is the reason y i wanna be a plastic surgeon n it was a good finale how it ended christian pickin up a kimber look alike n good job of changing it to look like the first episode when christian met kimber
Christian will never change, that's why Sean saddled him with Liz, who never cut out and ran even after all the shit she went through with the two of them. He'll still womanize and get into all sorts of misadventures, but Sean's free of that negative influence. Christian will always land on his feet
that final moment is just amazing. I want to know if Christian changed his ways and will do anything different. I want to know if he and Sean will see each other again..=[
@Lollipopster I watched the entire series on Netflix when I was out on vacation. I told myself I would just watch a few episodes to see what a co-worker was raving about. I fell in love with it. Had to watch all the episodes and ended up crying like a baby when I came to the final scene. Absolutely heartbreaking...
Oh my god, I just finished the series and I'm so sad that it ended. But I guess it's as they say, all good things come to an end at some point.

This ending broke my heart. I was hoping they would move back to Florida.
I miss this show so much.
It's too bad they wanted pay raises, or they could have kept it going.
What great characters.

Lol Christian always does that head bobbing thing when he walks away. Always. Slick mother fucker.

This ending was boring and pointless,it didn't have the spirit of the nip/tuck we all used to know at all!Furthermore,no one of the characters seemed to be itself and Kimber's suicide just burst my bubble:(
however,I still miss it
nataselw 1 year ago
@nataselw I didn't like it either, it almost made me cry(especially the song). But you can't blame em, ANY ending to Nip/Tuck would've sucked.
HipHopJun 1 year ago
@nataselw I agree with what you say, but let's be realistic. As you said, the show turned into something "strange", especially season 5 and 6. The show was all about "darkness" and "uncontrolled moments of life". I think this end was not done for "fans" but was just the perfect continuity of what writers showed us over the last couple of years. With what happened in those seasons, that end (everybody leaving alone) was the most logical end you could get. Not saying i'm fine with it though ;-)
WhiteyRavensTH 11 months ago
@WhiteyRavensTH I think we have almost the same thoughts.I didn't complain about writer's decision to separate 'em,I agree that the ending should have been bittersweet in some way (the only thing that annoyed me was Kimber's suicide).I just felt that I was left wanting sth more.OK,There was definitely some level of closure.Maybe I wish we could see the aftermath of their decisions,I don't know!I’ll have to leave that to my imagination I guess.Anyway, niptuck will be missed..

UnluckilyEnlightened 1 year ago
A bit dissapointing of an ending. Matt ends up with Ava??? Christian and Sean split up? Kimber is dead, Julia moves to London... none of it should have ended that way. Great show though... sad that it's over.
creyes8519 1 year ago
That was the perfect ending to that show. In the end, they were brothers. They always were.

Was sad to see this one go. That blond gal at the end rather resembled someone I took French classes with in high school, so I checked the cast list on imdb and what do you know, it's the same person! Apparently she's also had cameo in the 1st episode of Californication. Not a bad start!

For each episode the writers tossed a dice and chose one of the 6 plot lines:
1: Christian or Sean or both fuck Julia or Kimber or both.
2: Sean quits the practice, but not really.
3: Everyone is terrorized by a serial slasher, or an organ-stealing drug smuggler.
4: Liz has sex with a man, or sex with a woman, or sex with a turkey baster.
5: Somebody gets murdered and fed to crocodiles.
6: Somebody has the wrong genitals, or Matt fucks up his life, or Matt fucks somebody with the wrong genitals.

Couldn't have said it better myself. The purpose of plastic surgery for McNamara/Troy is to create symmetry. They wound up with perfect symmetry with the end echoing the beginning. This is one of the most perfect finales I have ever seen. The end is in the beginning.
CarRamRod947 1 year ago

The whole truth to this show is people never change..........
turbotdi2002 1 year ago 7
yotan i thought the exact same thing as soon as they showed that scene
Dcelk88 1 year ago
The final scene is exactly the same as how he met Kimber. True, he cheated on Kimber and they had their down moments, but he always loved her deep dpwn. When she finally killed herself, Christian was so wracked by guilt afterwards. Now, what this final scene shows, is him meeting this girl whom he may also fall in love with. And, if so, maybe he now knows not to make the same mistakes twice and, just maybe, there is hope for him after all.
Fran12261981 1 year ago 10
@Fran12261981 I respectfully disagree. Earlier, Christian told Sean that he believed sean was the only one who could change. I think this simply shows that Christian is the same person he always was.
wtg2989 1 year ago
@wtg2989 I think the final moments show that Christian really did change. Throughout the series he was narcissistic and selfish (of course that was part of his appeal) and he only did for others if he had something to gain from it. But sending Sean off was the one truly selfless act he ever committed. Then he meets the Kimber replica. I think that's the relationship he's going to get right because he's aware now that it's not all about him.
neionix 1 year ago 5
@neionix Well, you raise a good point, and I feel it is believable. However, I just don't see it that way. Notice how christian uses that same smirk and "plastic Surgeon" thing at some random bar in the middle of the day. Just a ploy to get laid in my oppinion. But for whatever reason it was put in there, it was a very nostalgic and cool final few moments of a good show.
wtg2989 1 year ago
@wtg2989 I guess it was just one of those cryptic endings that stays open for interpretation. They need to come out with a N/T movie and clear it all up!!
neionix 1 year ago
@neionix.

That girl at the end has NOTHING on Kimber.

personally i didn't like the ending. it was the fairty tale ending, and if you watch the show you know they're about everything but. I really thought christian, or both, would have ended up in jail or dead. They did so much shit i thought it was going to catch up to them.
snowskaterjd 2 years ago 4
I agree but FX told ryan murphy to start the show with a bang and end in a touching closing point
wiiplaya25 2 years ago
In a way I did like it, but I agree that there should have been consequences for their actions. And I guess foreshadowing with Escobar's daughter was just a tease. Ideally, Christian should have been arrested in the airport after Sean's plane left (wraparound to the season one finale). That would have bought true closure, because the only Sean did the bad things he did was because of Christian. Sean deserves the chance to do some good, despite some of his negative actions.

Christian will never change, that's why Sean saddled him with Liz, who never cut out and ran even after all the shit she went through with the two of them. He'll still womanize and get into all sorts of misadventures, but Sean's free of that negative influence. Christian will always land on his feet
