God bless ya brother! Seeing as though I used to jam a lot of Van Halen in my early teen years, it's pretty refreshing to hear some of those types of riffs again.
I love Bayside so much! Everything there has brought me closer to God and I just bought this cd and another one and it's all I listen to now! Thanks for letting Gods glory shine through you unto the whole world.
We have been so graced. Your comments on Worship hit home, I too am one of those musicians who holds back. Pray for me. I need to learn this piece for worship ... PRAY FOR ME !!! ... ;-)
Lincoln, do come to Malaysia and do a tour. You inspire many aspiring guitarists to break all the rules and not hold back their talent especially in serving our Lord and Saviour. I'm one of them and honestly speaking, i look up to you as my main music influence. I'm sure other aspiring guitarist like me do too. So consider it yeah. :) Regards, Guy Williams.
Dude.. ..I Hope Your Next Cd sounds As Great as this one...O rMaybe even betttter...This Album Is awesome!!!!...I Love It..I just Love it..and praise God for that talent...By the way your song with Israel Houghton...WOW!!!!!!!!!!....Amazing...Keepi it Up Bro...God Bless You
lincoln! man i heard this song and i automaticly started to laugh and smile. its awsome that god is working through you, i love GOD and i love your music...
i really like it. i've never really been exposed to christian rock, but its really cool. i would find it really hard to write lyrics about my faith and sing them on stage. Ur awesome.
Love the song! To me the bridge has kind of a Journey sound. Bought your Today Is The Day CD just a couple days ago and have enjoyed it ever since. Hope you come to play in Lexington, KY sometime.
Linc!!! That was the MOST incredible praise song I ever heard! Finally - some REALLY great music for church! There is some good music out there for church (i.e. Crowder, Hillsong United, etc) but this is truly over the top!! Thanks for walking out on a limb and letting it rip and rock out loud for Christ!
Way better than all the "Crotchet Chord" Hymns I seem to get... Sounds like you have a luxury having 4/4 Chords ( i presume you have the easy Chords like Matt Redman or Tim Hughes)
don't hold back brotha, it's about time we had some good rockin spirit filled christian music out there. one's that non-believers can also sink their teeth into. God Bless
Definately a Lenny Kravitz flavor. Reminds me of "Everybody Praise The Lord". 1st time I heard it I was about to get out of my car & thought I'd give the last song a quick listen. Already loved the CD. Whoa! Who let EVH in. Then, he ripped into the rhythm riff, I started laughing pure joy & adrenaline. Immediately emailed friends about the CD. Lincoln, I'm a worship leader & was already a big fan of your work, but Man, this CD is so good! Never stop letting go & having fun! Blessings, Jeffrey
hey lincoln its joyce again i starting to play a guitar and im gonna be in a band someday like you and ill play all your songs and tell my kids how great your are!!!!!!!!!
I KNEW IT! as soon as i heard that i was like whered this guy get the Marshall? And i knew he was influenced by EVH in this one. My art teacher showed me this song today and I was really impressed! This guy actually knows how to play his guitar. Great job Lincoln!
Lincoln, Songs on this album are great. I lead God you reign last night in church. I worked out perfect. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to instructional video.
going on during the break. The whole disk is awesome. I even hear a John Mayer vibe in on of the songs. As the FOH guy for our church, my love for rockin' guitar often gets me in trouble:) Awesome tone! Hope to get you and your band up to Anchorage someday....
Very excellent- it does have the essence of VH-especially in the bridge. I learned about your pod stage set up on youtube-did you use amps in the studio on this track? Sounds like a mod JMP or Splawn..anywho- thanks for the inside scoop.
When I met you back at Lifelight in S. Dakota you said that you would cut loose on the next CD. This song certainly did not disappoint me! Learning this and the rest of the tunes on the CD should keep me busy for awhile.
dude that's awesome. It's actually my new favorite song that you do....You should actually do an instructional video of this song, that would be awesome! :-)
"Hi my name's Lincoln Brewster, and I DESTROY the guitar"!!! This dude is soooo awesome!

I have actually found it much easier to write lyrics about my faith than getting away from it & writing lyrics that have nothing to do with my faith.

This has got to be one of the best worship songs I've ever heard! Finally worship music doesn't have to take a back seat.
I like how you explained how you approached opening up as a player and how it pertains to worship/holding back. Great stuff!

Its played around a bluesy D Minor Pentatonic Scale. It's crazy fast, but when you break it down, its actually suprisingly not terribly complicated

what are the chords to this song?
SayGum 3 years ago
He plays in Drop D, but not to play the chords in easy form instead to reach that Low D that punches on the riff.
D, Em, G, D During the Chorus
D, C, G, F, D During the Verse

This album smokes, I think he must've spent about 5 yrs woodshedding before recording it.
Does anyone know if he's alternate picking that entire intro lick or are those hammer-on and pulloffs?
Hydrophish 3 years ago
alternate, you can hear the picknoise when he does it. he picks all the notes.
