  • Saw em for free in 93, saw em at Letterman for free, paid 30$ in 95 to see em at the warfield. Second sets were crazy, sax guy would play two saxophones at the same time and it was the loudest thing I ever heard.

  • @Jeezum dar har har har! fuckin hillibilly, got to see em free in '93? you're fucking kidding right? damn.

  • @imposter415 Yeah man, they played at my college!

  • I too love morphine and my project AnE on label faded lamentable is very much influenced by morphine. Especially the track "you took me in". It's on my space if anyone fancy's a listen. Cheers. RIP Mark.

  • Actually I think Nicky might sound more like Frog Brigade than Morphine... they do have a lot of bass, but more of a Claypool sound than Sandman's

  • Melt music

  • New favorite band I have absolutely blown up my favorites list with their music sad shame I found them to late to see them

  • That's just fuck rock man, nothing more to say!

  • @jeffburke100

Dude, shut up! U really need to stop being rude. Oh and takes u to know one about ur comment.

  • I don't have the words to thank you for uploading this masterpiece! I thought I have everything by Morphine. Now I feel I found them once again. Cheers

  • Who's the one douche bag that disliked this?

  • @JEFFBURKE100 To the one who voted thumbs down, please stand up... Lay off the Hater-Aid

  • Billy Conway is so great on this track!

  • Morphine is the best whilst on morphine. lemme tell you.

  • I thought I have everything they ever made, and then I came across this song, and I love it. too

great!!! Great just like everything morphine have done!

  • The most beautiful rock song.

  • AWESOME !

  • good song.

  • good song.

  • Could you tell me when this was recorded? I thought I have everything they ever made, and then I came across this song, and I love it.

  • @detecveca i don't know when exactly it was recorded but i have it on "The best of 1992-1995" so it has to be in that period. yes, it's a great stoned up song..

  • Thank you. I found it and now I can't stop listening to it.

  • @detecveca

Its on 'The Sandbox', which is the first time I'd heard it as well, despite being a Morphine fan since 92.. no idea if it was ever published prior.

  • Ahhh... love those melodies emanating from the majik Colleyphone

  • very good... can't thank you enough!

  • such a beautiful song

  • I was asked some time ago by someone who had listened all the stuff that was made by MORPINE, if I knew anything what sound like them. Usually you can find something, some similarities, but in this case it was so difficult, I could not say I know anyone who would play the way they did, who would be able to express so much emotion as they did.

  • they were one of the few who could, i agree with you

    cheers

  • listen to the band twinemen, it is the survivng member of morphine with a new singer

  • If you do find a band this original, ground breaking, and innovative and non commercial sounding let me know.....I am always looking for something "off the wall" and unique. But there is only ONE Morphine.....

  • kay kay and his weathered underground. you wont find anything on youtube, but theyre pretty damn great

  • Morphine are the reference. But there are still some pretty nice bands that deliver in the same style, like Colour Haze or Hypnos 69.

  • @themordamoja

The answer is nobody, there is nothing like Morphine out there. Morphine is hands down my favorite band because of their unique, slick, sexy and strong sound. I'm a musician myself and have found nothing else that I feel such a strong pull to as Morphine. In fact anything that Mark Sandman has done has his unique signature built into it. Mark Sandman is Sexy as hell.

Listen to Mark Sandman/ Either Orchestra-Temptation.

  • @themordamoja

If you haven't already..... Check out "A.K.A.C.O.D.". Morphine's band mates with female singer, Monique Ortiz. Pretty much all her stuff is "low rock". And of coarse Twinmen :))

    Good Journey

  • @themordamoja Les Claypool's Flying Frog Brigade does stuff occassional to this and Nicky Skopelitis' album Ekstasis: watch?v=NP-0KrRSbwc

  • @themordamoja Les Claypool has stated in DvD extras Sandman's influence on him and his musical stylings is how i know of this! Not sure Nicky's connection to their scene though.
