fisheman1ful Dr munroe never said romans started colonisation. he said "before the romans all the kings, when they colonise they uproot the people and take them to their countries and make them slaves. but the romans were the first one to reverse that. they didn't uproot the people, but took the culture of rome to the foriegn territory.

trydentre It is my understanding that the Greeks were philosophers and did conceive this concept of colonization but it was actually the Romans who put it into practice.

@fisherman1ful Dr. Munroe also said the Romans implemented the idea of colonization from the Greeks among other things. So the Greeks apparently started that idea first. The Greeks had a lot of great ideas including democracy which influences our country even now.
