  • great vid, thank you for sharing your creative insights hehe, btw what brush set are you using? Or are you using custom brushes?

  • Hey i was just wondering what your brush settings where?

  • THIS LOOKS SO FUN! I can't wait to get photoshop! haha

  • This is Awesome!Sir thanks for sharing!

  • nice tutorial, thanks! i agree with what you said about rain

  • I could listen to u teach all day :p a+

  • I see what he means by saying that the designer doesn't know what a silhouette is until you add some detail. I thought that the 2nd figure was more of a rhinoceros than a turtle until he started shading it in, and I'm usually pretty good at looking at shapes and seeing something in them.

  • One person who dislikes this vid, is envy of his masterpiece artwork

  • Thank you so much for this series! I'm a budding concept artist and I always find doing things like this extremely difficult, so you're helping me a lot here.

I just want to know, though - do concept artists work from home and get hired people people to do certain jobs or can you work for a company?

  • cool stuff but guy number threes arms are dimensioned so they cannot reach his mouth.so what are their function,? makes you wonder.

  • anyone know how he select the creatures as a whole?

  • @qgan He draws the creatures on separate layers

    :) hope this helps

  • @ParkourRockStar I mean when selecting those doted lines appeared in photoshop how did he do it?

  • I love your drawing so much!

  • its kinda obviouse that most of the time, your better off starting with black and white, for characters anyway

  • Those thunder strikes sounded awesome Feng!

  • What you say is completly illustated to me by the fact i saw that "turtle guy" more like a Rhino when it was only black paint.

  • Whenever I'm drawing something in front of people they always ask 'what are you drawing?' and every time i give them the answer of i don't know lol. For a while i thought is it just me that has no idea what I'm drawing before it's finished? And i guess it's a design tactic! Excellent tutorial, i always enjoy your work

  • I always mess up on when doing these i always get the value part messed up

  • when painting over the silhouettes, is your brush using pen pressure or did you lower the opacity to get that smooth look?

  • love your art truely inspiring , Cant wait till i can get to a good standard! :D x

  • This was awesome. I'd love to see more character stuff like this. Thank you for posting these!

  • These videos are really amazing!!! Thank you so much for taking time to post these because they are really inspiring and extremely helpful. I have a question though; when you do these videos, is all real time? Like your talking at the same time your painting, or do you do the painting first and then go in an add the dialogue afterwards? I ask because you're blitzing around the screen so fast. You have some impressive speed while you work.

  • Feng thanks for the videos i have learned a lot, I have a question though which brushes do you use?

  • Man, your videos are very, very helpful. Thanks a lot.

  • i hate you b/c of how awsome ur videos are... thanks for the video.

  • whoa I though I was the only one, but yeah rain has something mystic in it right?

you get inspired so easily when it's raining specially if it's raining really bad like the storms in jurassic park those were amazingly involving, it dragged the viewers into the scene so effectively it's crazy I know but it's cool too

  • How do you get the paint strokes to blend in so well? do you mess around with the opacity?

  • @DevilOfPaint

You are welcome to check the School official website or join our Facebook page as stated on our Youtube channel profile. We hope to see you one day!

  • where do you teach?:) haha i wish i could take a class from you. ;) lol. epic greatness

  • thank you for providing this very useful information! you get me going everytime I watch you videos!

  • "Something creative about rain..." I think I like you, man. I've never put that into words.

Maybe Singapore is for me? ;)

  • Oh my god, Feng. You are saving my life right now, and inspiring me left and right.

Wish I could go to school at FZD. Seems amazing. Keep up the absolutely amazing work.

  • Rain is a great ambient, if it doesn't rain much where you live - rainymood : com is awesome.
