This piece puts Glass up with great contemporaries such as Lizt, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and others in terms of just sheer beauty and magnificence. Good job Glass
Its difficult to describe this one, seemingly so simple, yet, I don't know if it's just the mood I'm in, I find it terribly evocative, it's a sort of dance with mordents, but the mood is somewhat terribly delicate, yet with muscle and terribly sympathetic, not visceral, not un sad, but very happy
stab your eyes with wooden candles, see life fly and see wings burn, die with someone by yout side but your eyes shut alone, wear a shirt but theres no place for the arms, close your eyes this is life
I am a writer and Glass has been the frontbone of the few pieces I am working on. Currently I write many plays and every hour I listen to this song over and over again. Chilling and full of emotion; this piece helps me envision the scenes I am writing more elaborately. Thanks for posting this song! I love Glass!
The allegro and adiago work naturally and really help give a sad but ponient atmosphere to the piece, while also keeping it original and fast moving, giving you a flurry of emotions.

I now see where Moby got some of his inspiration. Notably, God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters.
