To make a complaint about a Border Patrol Agent you encounter you have to start at CPB.GOV and then click on "Questions/Complaints" on the upper left hand side of the page. You will then have to click on "SUBMIT A COMPLAINT" button on the lower right side of the page. Perhaps if they get enough complaints about a particular CPB Agent they will start to get disciplined accordingly. Make sure to do a complaint that requires them to contact you for review. Don't be anonymous.

Agreed. Meaning Secondary is meant for just immigration status only. Once that is obtained, the only way an officer can continue search of vehicle is by consent or probable cause to do so. @kirra77 Tell me a War story GI Joe. Over 70% of Border Patrol Agents are VETS. Don't go on a 16 month tour? I guess not; however, how about 30 to 35 years? Real danger? Drop into a canyon, in the dark, alone, no radio commo -- Your nearest back up is 2.5 hours away. They have no Combine Arms with rules of engagement that would stagger your imagination.

You did the right thing and excersied you god given rights; you presented them with your DD-2A; that alone proves your citizenship and should have been released at that point.

This just shows that being compliant is no guarantee of niceness by the gov authoritarians.
He submits to just about everything and still gets the jackass to complain to his superiors at the base.
He should be more learned about his rights and not have answered any questions, not have gone to secondary and not have provided id which they have no authority to demand.
This proves not fully exercising your rights is hazardous to your freedoms and privacy.

This is why i avoid going anywhere near the border because i do not want to be harassed by these thugs. The only time i went thru a border patrol checkpoint was when i was on a Greyhound bus, they asked me if i was a citizen and i Said "Yes". then they moved on.

For the simple fact he caused you grief for no reason, the tape shows you were violated in your rights...file a lawsuit against all officers involved, cause him some grief when he has to sign over his future paychecks to you.

get this, on Sep 4, 2010, just yesterday as of this typing, approximately 9:30 am I was detained for approximately 40 minutes at a check point near Sierra Blanca, Texas. I took out my state ID and told the officer I was a US citizen, The other guard yelled at me to put my hand in the car door, therefore I was referred to secondary and was frisked and waited outside.
