@veyronfanatic29 Your paying 70 Grand for the performance. This car is not for daily driving, If the whole idea of this car is for it to be lightweight, why would they add the hundred pounds or so of hydrolics?
you may hate the roof, but trust me, its better to have than not have at all.
rains sneek up on all of us convertible types. Yet contrary to popular belief YOU CAN drive in the rain. (just stay above 50mph.) and thats in a moderate regular rain, drizzle isnt anything at all. but a major downpour you do gota pull over.
My saleen speedster is fantastic, drives in the rain no prob, but unlike todays cars i have to remove the tonneau to put the top up and the tonneau cant be stored in the boot
one fine day while enjoying my boxster s, im gonna drive by an spyder owner fiddling w/ the roof in the midst of a heavy rain storm, interior soaked, trunk soaked, clothes soaked and lmfao - watta joke ...
If VW designed this top, the press would tear it to shreds. Only because it is a porsche, do the critics love it. I think it would be fine if the car wasn't a bazillion dollars.
Is Porsche on CRACK???? What a joke. This top surpasses the initial one on the Viper. What eisenglass windows next? The best way to lose weight in a Boxster is to give a gym membership with every car!
@TheXavier3090 I don't agree with your statement but I do with the gym membership. Everybody wants a lighter car but most are 20 to 40 pounds overweight!!! lol
this is actually good, i was always worried about getting a convertible since they r heavier. now its good. plus i dont like driving expensive cars in the rain anyway =D
you pay $70,000 and you done EVEN GET A POWER ROOF???

The Spyder really needs an aftermarket removable hardtop so the car can serve as a daily driver as well as a track day and Sunday driver.

Convertibles are heavier becaquse of the required strengthened body structure, not because of the roof mechanism

Losing the power top mechanism saves about 200 pounds. Porsche is the master of charging more for getting less!

There is no way that you can finish doing this within two hours. Not even Ingvar Kamprad can do it.
